Hi world, meet Amelia Claire! Our baby girl arrived a week ago on 12.3.21 and we are in love 🥰 We’re all doing great, learning a lot, and it seems like every day we’re getting better at this. I’ve learned that loving someone this much can make you forget about sleep deprivation. One of the most satisfying parts of making ceramics is making large batches of an item and lining/stacking everything up together to see all the work I’ve put into making functional objects for you guys to enjoy and love in your homes. I’ve been pretty quiet on here because it’s been a few months since I’ve been able to make anything new. With our recent cross country move and baby arriving in a few short weeks, I’m not sure when I’ll get my studio set up again. What’s for certain is I’m really itching to get back into things, and I’m grateful you guys are all still here following along. My goal is to get my studio functioning while I’m on maternity leave - so hopefully this means an early year shop update in 2022! It’s dark and pouring here in Asheville which makes me miss LA sunshine a whole bunch. This move has been a huge adjustment, one that’s exciting, and one that also makes me sad when I think back to the life I made for myself in LA. I think what I miss most is sunshine, the beautiful, expansive (and dry) landscape and having a studio to work out of. I guess I wasn’t expecting so many wet and dreary days in the Blue Ridge 🌞 The studio part will come soon, and I know there will be days filled with sunshine to enjoy as well. Rainbows on rainbows! Lots of rain in the South these days and that means we get to see rainbows regularly which I don’t mind. It’s been a busy few weeks since we arrived to Asheville. Been in Asheville for 5 full days and it’s been super busy this week. We dove right into house shopping and while we were at it, our kitty Garvan went missing for a couple days. Mix in torrential downpours the first couple of days and you have a recipe for being homesick for LA. We’re stoked to be in Asheville though and excited to get settled in. For now, we’re taking it one day at a time in our temporary spot in the woods off a windy, mountain road and enjoying the solitude. My studio will reopen once we are settled into a house, I just wish I knew when that’d be!
