In 2006, 5 Students who attended Taylor University died in a car accident, with one surviving but left in a coma. The survivor was identified as a girl named Laura Van Ryn.

Laura’s friend, Whitney Cerak, who was in the car with her and had died in the accident, was buried while Laura was still hospitalized, and although she couldn’t attend the funeral, hundreds of others did.

A few days passed, and Laura regained consciousness and slowly began attempting to speak.

When asked her if she knew her own name, the girl replied “Whitney”.

Due to the girls’ similarity in appearance and a mix up of I.D’s at the scene, they had been mistaken for each other, and the girl who had died in the crash and had been buried days earlier was actually Laura Van Ryn.

Later Whitney got married to her high school sweetheart in the same church that her funeral had been held at.

The last meal of an inmate facing execution is a customary ritual. For practical reasons, there is a limit to the cost. For example in Florida the limit is $40 while in Oklahoma it’s just $15. In Louisiana, it’s common for the prison warden to join the inmate for their final meal. Texas does not offer a death row inmate a last meal after Lawrence Russell Brewer refused to eat the large meal he requested in 2011. The majority of inmates request comfort food or something that reminds them of their childhood or home. This could reflect that they are trying to deal with extremely high stress by surrounding themselves with familiar food. In most countries, tobacco and alcohol are prohibited from the last meal. Statistically, the most popular last meal in the United States is a cheeseburger or fried chicken with fries.

Some of the more bizarre last meal requests include:

James Edward Smith requested a pile of dirt in which he could use for a voodoo ritual.

Robert Buell requested a single black olive in the hopes that his corpse would sprout into a tree.

Timothy McVeigh requested two pints of mint chocolate-chip ice cream.

Thomas J. Grasso requested room temperature Spaghettios. He then complained that they were too hot when they arrived.

Jerry Lee Mitchell requested a bag of Jolly Ranchers.

Philip Ray Workman requested a pizza to be given to a homeless person. This request was denied and Workman refused to eat a last meal.

Ricky Ray Rector requested a steak, fried chicken, cherry Kool-Aid and a pecan pie. He did not eat the pecan pie and laughed to guards that he was “saving it for later.”

Miguel Richardson requested a cake with the date he got married written on the top.

“The Incident” is the title of a book someone found at a used bookstore.

The book had to read from right to left as where the final page usually is, instead I found the first page. It started with a Latin quotation that I translated to something like “The First is the last to die ”. And instead of chapters were used the terms “Levels of Initiation” and “Archive I ,II, III ”, each Archive containing 7 levels. .

The cool part about the book was that it came with some…interesting pictures

Xaphan

Xaphan is sorta like hell’s personal blacksmith. He is an independent demon of high rank who mans the forge and fans the flames of hell. And despite once having been from a relatively low rank on the heavenly plain, Xaphan was known for being an inventor of formidable creativity, and was recruited by the heavenly rebellion for his skill. Said creativity must have involved Flaming Swords or fire or something, because his main contribution to the rebellion was an idea to BURN DOWN THE HEAVENLY PLAIN. The whole fucking thing. Which, being Heaven, is presumably really big. The plan fell apart, of course, and he fell with with rest of the rebels. But he was rewarded for his massive balls with a nice job, doing something he was very good at. Making things burn.

The Woman in the Oven - This story dates back to 2008 but the original author is not known. In a rural farm house in Minneapolis, the charred remains of a woman is discovered inside an oven. A camera is sitting on a tripod, pointed at the oven, but there is no tape inside. The death is ruled a homicide. A tape is eventually discovered in an empty well behind the house. The footage is played and show a woman entering the kitchen, turning the oven on, climbing inside the oven, and then closing the door behind her. Eight minute in, the oven begins to shake violently and smoke can be seen coming from inside. The tape continues until the battery runs out 45 minutes later. An investigation showed that the woman in the video and the woman discovered in the oven were not the same due to the height and stature. It was never discovered who had put the tape in the well.
