I'm going to put it on hiatus for a few upcoming months because:
1.) I no longer connect with the fic. The plot is too heavy, bulky, and I just can't bring myself to finish it without ripping my hair out.
2.) I'm planning to rewrite it, make it more concise. And right now I'm at the plotting stage.
3.) Real life has been crazy busy, I get barely enough time to write.
4.) Even when I do get time to write, most of it is spent on writing for my other hyperfixations (check @natangelix and @angeliyoon if you're curious, and maybe we can connect there too).
I definitely will rewrite and finish DSYLM. I'm too attached to it to just abandon it. I just need to take a detour from the original plot so I can give it the love it deserves.
While I'm reworking it, you might notice some things like:
1.) The old fic being deleted. If I want to start anew, I need the older version of DSYLM deleted.
2.) The new ver having a different layout. This layout hopefully works better than the old layout.
3.) I won't be posting the fic as I write it. For the old ver, I used to post the fic whenever I finish a chapter. Turns out that only puts me under more pressure. I will only post the fic once I'm done writing it from start to finish.
4.) And maybe more that I still don't know yet.
If you were tagged to the old ver of the fic, you'll automatically be tagged for the new one. If you don't want to be tagged, you're always free to leave the taglist by filling the gform again.

โคฟ Summary: If meeting his parents the first time and getting a disapproval from them wasn't bad enough, now you have to meet them again along with the rest of Jungkook's family.
Weddings in general didn't scare you, but a wedding reception of Jungkook's cousin was on a whole different level. You knew Jungkook's family was high profile and you knew that would involve in some scrutinizing and judging on their part, not to mention the fact that you'd meet his parents, too.
Jungkook's parents. One of the few people who successfully made you break a cold sweat. Despite his efforts to make them like you, and he barely succeeded too at that, you still remember exactly how his dad saw you with disdain the first time. It was safe to say that the memory became ingrained in your mind, definitely would be one of your core memories.
But the man giving you puppy dog eyes right in front of you as the both of you have dinner in some fancy restaurant that he insisted on trying was doing a very good convincing.
You sighed, your fingers absentmindedly stirred your drink with the straw. "I don't know, Jungkook. If your dad doesn't like me, imagine the rest of your family."
If it were possible, he jutted out his bottom lip even further. "They're from my mom's side. Plus, my dad won't dare do anything to you especially after we ran away last time."
Your mind took you to the moment when his dad disapproved of you. The moment when Jungkook finally had had enough and took you to ran away from the whole 'meeting his parents' ordeal.
That successfully made your whole defense collapse. The first reason because Jungkook, your very cool and very hot boyfriend, never acted this way to you. And second, Jungkook in the end did persuade his dad to give you a chance. And third, this was the chance you had been waiting for. And last, maybe you could make his mom's side of the family to like you. So that was how you ended up wearing a dress more expensive than your rent for a whole year while riding a car much more expensive than your college debt.
You turned to look at the driver which was your boyfriend. "Jungkook, this is too much." Your fingers scratched your collarbones which was itching because of the sequins of your dress.
"It's never too much. The thing about my family is, they love glamour," he deadpanned. "And since your now part of this, you need to show glamour. You can't show up to a wedding in hoodies."
"Duh, I know that. But I'm not used to designer dresses."
He shrugged nonchalantly. "You need to. It's kind of part of dating me." Then, with a softer voice, he continued, "You'll get used to it, I promise."
True to what he said, you got used to it much quicker than what you had initially thought. After meeting countless of his aunts and uncles, all wearing designer clothes like you and Jungkook, and getting to know what they thought of you, you could relax a little bit. Maybe, fitting into this family wasn't as hard as you thought.
With his hand on the small of your back, guiding you and silently giving you strength, you managed to talk to almost every aunt and uncle of Jungkook. Some were happy that Jungkook finally got a girlfriend, even went as far as asking when he would propose to you, which earned a cough from both of you. Some were surprised, but quickly followed by proud of Jungkook for finally no longer being the baby of the family which was news to you.
"You never told me you're the baby of the family," you accused him after the last aunt walked away.
"I never thought it's that important. But, yeah, I'm the youngest among my cousins." Before he finished talking, he was already eyeing the dessert area and steering you that way. "Let's get ice cream."
The thing with Jungkook was, you couldn't talk to him until he got his fix of snack or food. And that was why as you were waiting for Jungkook to finish his ice cream since yours had been finished for a couple of minutes, your eyes darted around the venue.
You could recognize the new faces just introduced to you before, but surprisingly, you realized that Jungkook's parents were nowhere to be seen.
"Where are your parents?" you asked, unable to wait until he finished his ice cream.
With a wave of his hand, he dismissed your question. "They'll come. They just like to be fashionably late. But me? I wouldn't want to be late to a place full of food."
"Figured," you deadpanned, your eyes still scanned your surrounding and the nice decor they had put in the venue. A lot of fortunes must had been used to decorate a boring hotel ballroom full with fresh flowers. But then again, seeing Jungkook's family and its background, you wouldn't be too surprised.
That was when your eyes caught something you'd been looking for. With dread, you said, "Jungkook! Your parents are here! Look!" You pointed at the entrance where Mr. and Mrs. Jeon stood, both in equally as expensive of clothes as the ones you and Jungkook wore.
With a curse under his breath, Jungkook then quickly finished the rest of his ice cream. "Are you ready for a show of a lifetime?"
"If that means your dad will openly disliking me in front of the rest of your family, then no."
Jungkook chuckled. "Come on. It's not going to be that bad. I promise. He agreed to give you a chance and this is it." Without waiting for your reply, he took your hand in his and tugged you towards his parents.
Each click clack of your heels on the floor matched the thump of your heart against your ribcage, as if your heels were trying to let everyone around you know that you were nervous. Yet, with Jungkook's firm hand on yours, you kept putting one foot in front of another.
When you were close enough to hear Mrs. Jeon's laugh and see the lines on Mr. Jeon's forehead, your boyfriend leaned close to you and whispered, "Just follow my lead. My dad wouldn't dare do anything to you after his promise to me."
Straightening your already straight dress, you took a step forward, closing the gap between you and his parents, all while giving them a polite smile. "Mr. and Mrs. Jeon, good evening."
Mrs. Jeon, nice as always, shook your hand while Mr. Jeon only gave you a curt nod. While it wasn't exactly the reaction you were hoping from your boyfriend's dad, at least it was better than last time.
From the corner of your eyes, you saw Jungkook opening his mouth, about to say something, when he was cut off by a high-pitched voice coming from behind Mr. Jeon. "Jungkook! I thought you wouldn't come." The owner of the voice then stepped aside and stood next to Jungkook's dad. From how close she was standing next to him, you could conclude that she was that close to the Jeons.
A look of recognition flashed in Jungkook's eyes as he stared at her. "Hanna? You're here? Who invited you here?"
The woman called Hanna pointed to his dad and that was answer enough. "Your dad."
"What? Why?" A frown was etched on Jungkook's forehead. Confusion was evident on his face.
This time, it was Mr. Jeon's turn to answer. "I want to show you how accepted Hanna is in this family." Despite his voice no longer bore the same venom like the first time you met him, he wasn't trying to hide the fact that he was hoping for Jungkook to change his mind about you.
Jungkook, always the trustworthy boyfriend, defended you. "What's that even supposed to mean, dad? Even if Hanna is accepted, that still doesn't change the fact that I love Y/n."
The mention of the L word got you widen your eyes in surprise. You didn't expect you would hear him mention it in a time like this in the middle of someone's wedding. But you also couldn't deny the fact that his words bought comfort to you, a reminder that you didn't have to worry as long as he was there next to you.
"Plus," Jungkook added. "I don't care if Y/n is accepted or not. But for the record, in case you're wondering, I've introduced her to the aunts and uncles and so far they liked her."
If it was possible, the lines on Mr. Jeon's forehead got deeper, but his voice was much calmer than how he looked. "Okay. But I'm still introducing Hanna to the rest of our family."
Jungkook gave a curt nod. "Okay." Without waiting for an answer from either his parents or Hanna, he splayed his hand on the small of your back and steered you away from them and back towards the desserts table. "Ready for round two?"
As Jungkok busying himself with stuffing his mouth with different pastries that had been served, your mind kept replaying the L word that he had said so proudly not just in front of his parents but also Hanna, the woman that was approved by his dad. Sure you had heard him say it to his parents when you met them the first time, but it had been in a private place and no other ears had heard him say it other than his parents. And this time, it wasn't like that at all.
"You're not eating?" Jungkook woke you up from your thoughts. His hand that was holding a piece of cake was extended towards your face. "Try this one. It's so good."
That was when you realized that Jungkook didn't care about it all. He didn't care that Hanna and other people had heard him saying he loves you. He didn't care that people could see him feeding you his half-eaten cake. He never concerned himself with what other people think and only cared about what you think. Your boyfriend that was so cool turned out would also be the person that loved out loud unapologetically.
You couldn't held back a smile from forming in your mouth as your heart warmed over the man in front of you, his hand was still extended towards you, holding the cake right in front of your face.
"What are you smiling at? Take a bite!" Jungkook carefully jiggled the cake, giving an emphasis that you had to take a bite.
Leaning closer, you took a bite of the chocolate cake, the rich aroma quickly filled your nostrils and mouth as the chocolate filling melted on your tongue. "You're right! This is good!" you said after swallowing it down.
"I know right? I'm the best that choosing what to eat." He quickly downed the rest of the cake. "But, pray tell, what were you smiling at?"
Circling an arm around his waist, you pulled him closer to your side. "I just realized how much I love you, too."

Like he purposely annoys you just for the sake of it.
In fact, in every video he's recording, you're always there.
Whether it's your voice in the background, or you in the background, or you literally in the middle of the frame.
And it's even more annoying if he specifically records a video of him pranking you.
It's not like he'll deliberately ruin your life with his pranks.
In fact, his pranks are mostly harmless.
Nothing that can't be fixed.
But it's super annoying when you find all of your socks with their pair missing when you have an important meeting in an hour.
Or when he eats more than half the food you made and planned to bring to work.
Or when he pretends that he loses the phone charger he borrowed from you.
"Jungkook! My phone is going to die in a minute! What do you mean you lost it?"
"Relax! You can charge your phone in my car."
"I'm not charging my phone in your car. I want my charger now."
In the middle of you scouring his room for your charger, Jungkook laughs behind you.
In his hand is the charger you've been looking for.
"Jungkook!!!" you scream and snatch the charger from his hand.
At the same time, you just noticed the small camera on his other hand.
"Jungkook!" Your hand swipes at the camera, trying to grab it.
But Jungkook is faster.
He holds the camera up, away from your reach.
His face totally holds no feelings of remorse.
If any, he looks like he's holding in a laugh.
"Arghhh." You storm out of his room, knowing that you'll end up in one of his silly videos.
And you know that he'll do it again.
But he can also be nice sometimes.
Especially when he's in a good mood.
He'll buy you ice cream on his way back from work.
He'll cook dinner.
He sometimes even goes as far as washing the dishes himself.
And most importantly, no cameras in sight.
Those kinds of days come far in between, but you always cherish them.
Once the dishes have been cleaned and the kitchen has been tidied up, you usually invite him for a movie night.
And of course you can never trust Jungkook to be civil with you.
Heโll either convince you to watch a horror movie when you just want a nice movie to end the day with or heโll comment on every little thing in the romcom you choose.
Like when the male lead doesnโt confess right away.
Or when the female lead runs away.
His comments will make you fed up.
โOMG, can I watch in peace, please?โ
Jungkook, with his stupid grin, replies, โNope. Thatโs what you get for not agreeing to watch a horror movie.โ
"You know I don't like scary movies."
"Are you a baby?"
"No."
"Then, why do you dislike scary movies?"
"Because-"
"You're a scaredy cat."
"I'm not!"
"Prove it."
"No!"
"Then you're a scaredy cat."
"I'm not!"
"I don't believe you~"
"Ugh!"
He only stops annoying you once you get up from the couch and go back to your room.
From inside your room, you can hear his laugh.
The annoying laugh that you hear much too often.
But the next morning, as an apology, he'll make pancakes for you.
He even brings them to your bed.
"Here. Added extra honey because I know you like it."
Instantly, you forget about what he did last night.
His foods are the best.
You're not going to keep a grudge from last night and risk him taking his pancakes back.
So with a smile, you thank him before digging in.
In the back of your mind, you know Jungkook is already planning for another prank.
But with the sweet honey melting on your tongue, you can't bring yourself to care about it now.
Like he purposely annoys you just for the sake of it.

There was inherently something different with sculpting Y/n. The way the mallet hit the chisel as he carved out her perfect nose, resulting in a clicking sound, which sounded like music on his ears. Melodic and therapeutic in a way. Every carve defined her contour better. Every hit of the mallet added even more detail to her perfection.
Y/n, the Goddess in the form of a sculpture, was born out of a random sketch on a crumpled piece of paper that Taehyung made one night after watching Pygmalion. From then on, with the play ingrained on his mind, he created his first masterpiece and named her.
Taehyung never named his pieces, but somehow, putting 'Y/n' on top of his sketch of this one sculpt made sense. It felt like putting on an apron before cooking or locking the door before leaving the house. And seeing her name on the sketch felt like going back home, it felt right.
Taehyung tried a different approach with Y/n. Usually, he would draw and sculpt the silhouette of the clothes, but with Y/n he drew her nude. He was planning to buy her clothes that would match her best than any sculpted-on clothes. He wanted her to feel more human than the rest of his sculptures. He wanted her to feel more special, because she was.
And there was no better day to do visit the dressmaker at the plaza than today. The weather was nice and he knew there wouldn't be that many people in the plaza today.
Taehyung put on his favorite doublet that was laid down on his bed by one of his servants and headed out the door.
"Pierre, drive me into town. There's a dressmaker I need to talk to at the plaza." Taehyung jumped on his freshly painted black coach and crossed his legs.

โคฟ Summary: Having gone through so many problems in your relationship, you know meeting Jungkookโs parents will be the hardest. Jungkookโs family who knows about his line of work meets you and they donโt believe him when he says that you're his real girlfriend.
While Jungkook had met your family long before you became a thing, courtesy of him being your hired fake boyfriend, you had never met his. Quite the opposite, he was more reluctant and secretive when the topic of his family was brought up.
"Do you know what would be great?" you had asked one day. You were just lazing around on Jungkook's couch as he cut some fruits in the kitchen.
His apartment was one which had a large open space in the middle where the living room and the kitchen existed beside one another without a wall separating them. In fact, from where you were laying on his couch, you could see him deeply focused on the watermelon in front of him. Deep lines formed on his forehead, making him cuter if any.
"What is it?" he asked without looking up.
"Why don't you introduce me to your parents?"
This question had been bugging your mind for as long as your relationship with him got serious. Naturally, as your relationship progressed, you would think meeting his parents would show his seriousness with you. Also, by meeting his parents, you could show him that you were being serious, too. Yet, your boyfriend somehow avoided every topic about his parents.
"We have plans this weekend, Y/n. We can't just ditch the plans I prepared weeks ago."
Just like what you had expected, Jungkook deflected your question. But this time, you refused.
"I think it can be postponed, right? Or we can visit your parents afterwards. It's not like a visit to the dentist will take a whole day."
Only then he would look up from his watermelon. He blinked slowly.
"Do you want to meet them this bad?"
"I mean, it's not like they're the scariest people on Earth. Plus, getting to know your family means I get to know more about you, too. Good for bonding, I guess." Of course you lied through your teeth, his parents could very well be the scariest people on Earth for you. "Don't you miss them? You rarely visit them, right?"
He nodded as he went back to his watermelon. "Yes. But I don't know if they can handle you, or you handle them. Meeting the parents aren't exactly an easy step in a relationship."
You shrugged. "Okay, Mr. Fake Boyfriend. I guess I'll just follow your lead and meet your parents whenever you're ready."
"But, Y/n, are you sure you're ready?"
+++
You had initially thought that when Jungkook agreed on taking you to meet his family, it would be just a normal day, not on a big day or even a big celebration day. But of course your boyfriend had a mind different than yours. He brought you to meet his family exactly on his mom's birthday dinner.
"Are you sure this is okay?" Your knuckles had turned white from gripping the hem of your dress too tightly.
Your boyfriend, who were driving the car while whistling a tune, stopped mid-whistle. "How can this be not okay?"
"I mean, we're literally going to your mom's birthday dinner." You stared at Jungkook in disbelief. It seemed like he didn't even know the gravity of the situation.
"Y/n, you're literally the one wanting to meet my parents."
"Yeah, but not on your mom's birthday," you deadpanned.
Jungkook shrugged. "You asked for it still. Plus, it's better this way."
"How so?"
"My mom will less likely to be angry or disappointed or something."
Jungkook's supposedly comforting words didn't fix anything.
"So you think your mom would hate me otherwise?!" you exclaimed.
"Of course not! My mom is not the type to be hate on people. I'm just saying that she's in a good mood today."
You side eyed Jungkook. "I hope you're right."
The car Jungkook drove eventually entered a complex. Initially, you thought inside the complex were houses and Jungkook's parents' house was one of them, but you were dead wrong. The entire complex was actually part of Jungkook's parents' house. Aside from the main house which was located in the middle of the complex were smaller houses.
"These houses are for our workers, drivers and maids," Jungkook explained as his car drove past some houses.
Your mouth went agape. "Are you kidding me? Now I feel bad I only bring a basket of fruits."
"It's more than enough. My mom never gets a basket of fruits anyways, I bet she'll like it. Plus, it's not like you're going to gift her with a Hermรจs bag."
You didn't know a basket of fruits could be on par with a Hermรจs bag, but since you've never received either, you just let Jungkook be the judge of that.
Once Jungkook pulled up in front of the main house, he jumped out of the car, dashed to the passenger's side, and like the typical gentleman, he opened the door for you before the security could beat him to it.
"Miss Y/n here brings some stuff for mom, it's in the backseat. Please help her bring it inside," Jungkook instructed the security.
"No, it's fine, Kook," you interrupted. "I can do it."
"It's fine, my parents usually bring stuff much heavier than just a basket of fruits." Jungkook took your hand and pulled you inside. "Let's just greet them inside."
"But-" You anchored your body on the ground, effectively stopping him from pulling you.
"Y/n". He sighed. "If you don't give him something to do, he can risk himself getting fired."
You gasped as realization hit you. "Okay, then."
Jungkook's parents were filthy rich, no doubt for that. After all, they were the ones building Rent a Partner from ground up, not to mention their other businesses. But despite how rich they were, their appearance looked more like your humble neighbors, like the aunt that lived beside your tiny apartment or like the uncle who lived on the apartment facing yours.
Seeing them in the dining room, sitting on the long table that was at least five meters long, Mr. and Mrs. Jeon looked like they were puzzle pieces forcefully stuck to where they didn't belong. Mr. Jeon only wore a worn out t-shirt and a pair of shorts while Mrs. Jeon wore an equally worn out dress. Your eyes caught a flash of the brand of Mrs. Jeon's dress, making you realize that it would cost you your kidney to afford that.
"What took you so long, son?" Mrs. Jeon's voice was heard first. It was soft and warm, like honey.
"You know, traffic." Jungkook, whose hand still intertwined with yours, pulled you towards his mom before letting your hand go so you could shake his mom's hand. "Mom, this is Y/n, my girlfriend. Y/n, this is my mom."
Mrs. Jeon flashed a warm smile that reached her eyes. Some wrinkles appeared on the corner of her eyes, but it failed to make her any less beautiful.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Jeon. Happy birthday. I brought something for you." You turned around to locate where the security put your basket of fruits, but Jungkook spoke up before you could say anything.
"It's in the living room."
"Nice to meet you, too, Y/n."
Mr. Jeon, though, was a little different from his wife. Whereas his wife was welcoming of you, he wasn't. The lines got deeper etched into his forehead to closer you walked towards him. And as you extended your hand, he only stared at it like you just gave him a dead rat.
You hesitated. You let your hand drop and were about to ask what was wrong when Jungkook beat you to it.
"What's wrong, dad?"
"Y/n is your co-worker, right? She's not actually your girlfriend."
Now it was Jungkook's turn to frown. "No, dad. She's really my girlfriend."
"Jungkook, your parents built Rent a Partner. I know an employee when I see one. At least, if you like a co-worker, you can pick someone better, like Hanna, for example." He sighed, as if saying all those words took a toll on him.
"Dad, you're saying that you don't approve my choice?"
"Yes, especially when there's Hanna."
"I don't like Hanna."
"She's charming, what's there not to like?"
Jungkook clenched his jaw before answering, "She's clingy and probably a spoiled brat, too."
"Either way, you can pick someone better. I know there are a lot of girls in Rent a Partner."
"Y/n is not a Rent a Partner employee and I love her."
Your breath hitched at the confession. He never said that to you since the beginning of your relationship and you never thought much about it.
"If you can't appreciate my choices, then I'm sorry, I won't be backing down." Jungkook took a hold of your hand. "C'mon, we're leaving."
You bowed to Jungkook's parents as best as you could while Jungkook pulled on your hand towards the exit. While Mrs. Jeon smiled apologetically at you, Mr. Jeon's face didn't change one bit.
Only when you were both outside and in the car when Jungkook apologized to you. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know my dad would pull something like that."
You looked at Jungkook, one hand touched his while softly caressing it. "I can't lie that what I have been worried about really happened. But it's still better than your own relationship with your dad. You should apologize to him."
"I'll talk to him in a cold-headed manner later. Now, I just want to spend some time with you to make up for the failed dinner with my parents."
"No. Don't think it's failed. It's not wrong for parents to worry about their kids. I think your parents just worried about you."
Jungkook sighed. "I know. But he's always been like that. Controlling, like I was still a kid. Like I don't know what's best for myself."
"You dad just needs time to process that you're no longer a kid. It's okay. Just give him time. How about we go get ice cream?"
