Angel had been going through the grass picking out all kinds of weeds and such to Lilith to either paint or just to look at.

Lilith took the flower with a smile. “Thanks Angie.” she said before peacefully continuing to paint some more rocks she had found by the lake.

“What chu wanna do later?” Angel flopped back onto the deck, letting the black cat Lilith called hers climb onto angels stomach and curl up on it.

“That one looks like a duck” Angel pointed to a colloid that looked nothing like a duck.

It had been anything but a good night for Beau. I’d seen him go through hell with his father but never like this. Never to the point where he’d ever cry in front of someone, let alone in their room.

I sat beside him on the floor as he tried to wipe his tears and croak back sobs as he attempted to speak about what had pushed him over the edge. I knew he didn’t like me touching him so I kept my distance, only occasionally handing him a tissue.
