portugal has a real issue of pretending it's not a racist country. two politicians, a right wing one and a communist one, even came forward to say portugal is not racist. we have a fascist party that is gaining more and more power. weeks after we had an antirracist protest, they organized a protest alongside Mário Machado, a nazi that killed Alcindo Moreira, a black boy, 23 years ago. last year Cláudia Simões, was brutally beaten by the police bc her daughter didn't have her bus ticket with her. mind you that the ticket was FREE bc she was still a child. a black man, Bruno Candé, was shot yesterday by a 80 year old white man. the last words he heard were "go back to your country" even though he was born in portugal. the colonial war happened only 45 years ago. portugal literally invented colonialism. how is portugal not racist? portugal is racist. portugal is racist and can't confront itself.
