SKA BAND OR IMPROV TROUPE?
ska or improv is a good blog idea.
"Ska Band or Improv Troupe" would be a great game to play during the next installment of Angular Bombast.

A Truly Reprehensible Christmas, Vol. 1, a playlist by angularbombast on Spotify
This is, unironically, some of the greatest holiday music ever recorded. Have a listen.

New episode is up! Have a Krazy Krampusday!
April, Adam, and John settle in for a conversation about Christmas music. Which songs we love, which songs we don't love, and which ones are insane. We all hate Deck the Halls. Mariah Carey is canonized. April the Grinch does not care for Nathan Fillion. Adam and John are, frankly, floored by this. Have a merry whatever!

I forgot to talk about the Old 97's album, but that's okay, because I talked about it before in an earlier podcast. I also didn't talk any about the TV On the Radio album because I hadn't heard it yet, but it's all I've been listening to for the past week. Holy shit it's brilliant. And of course it's important to remember that there are still a ton of albums from this year that I never got around to giving a proper listen. It happens.
Adam & April's picks coming soon.
Spotify playlists - Best of 2014

And here's the Houston Whatever Festival we were talking about. What a lineup!
The 2014 Houston Press Music Awards Ceremony will be held on August 7 at Warehouse Live
Well, this is a little bit embarrassing. We completely forgot to mention this event on the podcast that dropped today. It's a hell of a good opportunity to see a bunch of great Houston bands: The Tontons, the Suffers, thelastplaceyoulook, Electric Attitude, and more. If you have the opportunity, you should go check it out. You're not gonna find anything better to do on a Thursday.
Heavy Metal is Gay: Terrorizer editor Tom Dare explains why heavy metal needs to tackle its homophobia problem
Here's the article that led to this episode's discussion topic of which music genre has the worst fans. An excellent read.
It's a brand new recording space as we podcast for the first time from Heights Vinyl. We discuss some upcoming live music shows as per usual, then talk about which fall albums we're looking forward to the most. Then it's time to decide: which genre of music has the worst fans? All three of us have different ideas on this one. Bitter rivalries are created and things are said that can never be taken back. Finally, we redo the Do Your Homework segment that got cut off of last month's episode. Peppered throughout: Angular Bombast loves Weird Al.
Lotta tech problems this week. First we had to remove the metronome click from the sound file, then we discovered that we hadn't even been recording the second half of the show. Lord have mercy. Still, something's better than nothing, so here's half a show. We talk with writer Brittanie Shey about Girls Rock Camp (girlsrockhouston.org), and then we discuss - well, it's in the title. Enjoy and let us know what you think.
Do Your Homework
Dumb John never actually says which Fastbacks album he's recommending to Adam. It's this one.
