Progreso is a family built by plural recollections of the Mexican countryside, created by Mexican ceramist Karla Sotres. These objects to narrate, imagine and serve our culture. Luisa Restrepo through her LITO Collection was to highlight glass as a jewelry.
In the beginning glass was sought and had the same value as semiprecious stones.
With this in mind, the LITO collection works glass as a stone starting with ingots that are cut, shaped then polished resulting in geometric shapes. A composition of plains where light plays with color.
The Form & Origin project is a research of the Evolution of Technology of Japanese Ceramic, conducted in Japan during a period of eight months in 2014.
The aim of this research project was to provide a practical fieldwork exchange of ceramic technology between Japan and Mexico. Adapting this knowledge to the local craftsmen context and prepare for further ceramic technology research in Mexico; focus on material research, techniques and processes.
