So was toby designed as a ghost angel by his creator in the studio or did something happen to him?

Let me start by saying that Toby’s backstory is rather intricate because it keeps changing. So, I’ll stick to the key details.

He was created at an animation studio by the talented writer and screenwriter Annabelle Robert.

According to her screenplay based on the book (which was supposed to be adapted), Toby is exiled to an earthly cemetery. He is sent there as a ghostly angel, in order to atone for his guilt.

Thus, as a character, Toby experiences his existence at the dawn of the end of history.

There was supposed to be a second part to the book, but it’s never been published… at least, not yet.
