i'm here to say i LOVE minimus i don't care if he's only mentioned twice or if people think the only way to get character out of him is to dissect his poem... HE HAS DEPTH!!!

i could go on and on about what he could be like, but that would take up the length of the novella itself every minimus design ever is so cute like have you seen the designs on tiktok OH MY GOD AHHH

I know I submitted a confession not long ago, but 1999 Squealer has a very soothing voice. I think that’s the point {to show how he manipulates the animals}, but listening to him is an instant anxiety reduction

I really believe Moses has unused potential as a character and despite him only having a few lines in the original book, I wish we got more of him in the source material. It likely has to do with my own fondness for more persuasive characters {Squealer and Snowball are also favorites of mine}, but I think an AU where Moses overtakes the farm could be very intriguing if written well, especially with his whole concept of being this religious figure inspired by the Russian Orthodox Church that is always making promises of a better, more appealing life. I also really like the concept of Sugarcandy Mountain serving as a sort of afterlife for the animals; it would make sense if Moses became more believed by the animals because of Boxer’s death specifically because Moses was trying to reassure them by letting them know “he’s in Sugarcandy Mountain now”, which could be what switched most animals from disliking his tales to feeling more hopeful after hearing them, especially as Animal Farm becomes bleaker under Napoleon’s rule after Boxer was sent away {sort of implied that Moses’ stories gave them hope as times on the farm got more rough in the original book, but I wish Orwell went deeper into that}

He’s also a drone in the 2026 movie for some reason?

THATS ACTUALLY A REALLY GOOD IDEA... I've never really realized the impact Moses could give to the other animals because he was such a minor character to me but this had given me a new light to him

And yeah they did make him into a drone 😭😭 I expected some modern aspects of the movie but not THIS much

To be honest, snowball X Napoleon doesn’t really make any sense to me because they literally hate each other and it kind of ruins the whole story sorry it’s just not my cup of tea but I’m all right if you like it

I say this as a Hungarian. The new movie convinced me, that if you want a good, faithfull adoptation, that is beloved by the people, then you have to have at least one Hungarian working on it.

Mátyás György Seiber, and János Halász (John Halas in English) were Hungarian, and worked on the 1954 adoptation.

Idk.

Eather way. As a Hungarian I'm lucky that, there is no Hungarian dub of the 2026 movie. Yes this movie convinced me of this.

I think Lucky could have been good, if he was in line with the book. Not a full on protag, and if he was repsesenting something. The movie would still be bad, but his inclusion would be less stupid.

At least Jessie in the 1999 adoptation made sense. She represented the same thing as Benjamin.

Old Major is suposed to be a representetion of Karl Marx, and Lenin. Snowball is a representetion of Trotsky. Napoleon is a representetion of Stalin. Squealer represents Vyacheslav Molotov. Boxer, and Clover represents the working class. Benjamin represents the people who understands the situation, but do nothing about it. Moses represents the Russian Orthodox Church. Mollie represents the upper class. The dogs represents the secret police. Ect.

The only way I can see Lucky working, if he was a representetion Stalin's son. Yakow Dzugashvili. That's the only way I can see it working.

hihi dumping my napoleon + minimus familial #KindaNervoud

Pre-revolution? ish?: Minimus was one of Old majors kids and after Old Major passed away, Napoleon took him in as his own (since Napoleon had that view that educating the younger ones was more important), since Napoleon was the one teaching him and taking care of him, Minimus was quick to accept him as a father figure

As for their current dynamic, Minimus is always seeking Napoleon’s approval since his views are the only one that matter to them (he’s like the most important person afterall) , and Napoleon is like one of those parents that always boasts about their own kid’s talent especially since Minimus always adds him into his poems 🥹🥹 Minimus’s poem being on the barn wall reminds me of how parents puts their kids drawings on the fridge LOLOL

OO OO, ANOTHER IDEA A horror game version of Animal Farm!! The game could have a creepy atmosphere, some jumpscares (and deaths), and have an ending that could make your blood freeze (whether or not you've read Animal Farm).

I understand why some might prefer the 1954 movie over the 1999 version, but I think that the latter has a more book accurate Squealer. The guy is actually doing something lol. He influences things, he manipulates animals, is useful.

Squealer from the older movie has like this one moment where he hides the cause of Boxer's death (absolutely no one believes him btw, so he's not very good at lying :p), and I guess he tells animals that Napoleon has started trading with humans and that they're going to sell chicken eggs (which isn't really an act of manipulation, it literally only makes the animals furious).

While the 1999 version had a scenes where this he was able to justify taking the puppies, eating apples and drinking milk, and sleeping in beds. Napoleon's regime would be completely different without this character in this version.

1999 MOVIE APPRECIATION YESS , while 1954 ver captured the theme and look of the book I must say 1999 ver was way more accurate , not only did it have more characters but also depicted Napoleon a lot more charismatic (a characteristic that a 'leader' should have) while 1954 ver made him terrifying (which is not wrong, but still) I AGREE WITH YOU SO HARD !!!
