Here are my full scenes from Team Colourless, timed correctly with a few extra twists to show off the work in a new light.
Here is Scene 38 timed correctly with a few extra twists in order for the audience to truly see the whole scene.
Whilst I was going through my scene 13, I noticed on one of the shots there was my shadows missing, however, when I went and rendered the scene once again with shadows and exported it out, once again the shadow did not show. So, unfortunately I was unable to figure out why this happened but perhaps I will figure it out at a later date!
For Team Colourless I composited my scenes out in order to make a correctly timed video of all my shots. In order to do this, however, we had to render out the images from Photoshop as 2 separate files: one with the image of the characters and one that just included the shadow. Then they had to be imported into After Effects, re-arranged on the file and then the shadow layer to be set as a multiply blend. Apparently this was so we could add in VFX in the film, but to me it seemed a very complicated way to produce shadows onto the screen properly. But I guess I shall play around with this idea and see what is better on future projects.
After querying with the director about this piece it was approved as it is, therefore I shall pass it on to be placed into the film.
Here is my shot 13 cleaned and coloured, using photoshop timeline so a little too fast but will put a better version on later, this has been approved and now its ready to be placed into the final film.
Here is shot 30 finished, just need the approval and then I can send it on for the background to be added and it to be inserted into the film.
With shot 29 I was told to go back and re-do the shadows as using the shape tool made the shadow pixilated so that needed to be altered. As I was going through I also realised that some of the shots had bubbly lines on the dog and as this was a close-up shot I decided to go back once again and alter all of them too - this shot took triple the amount of time it should have due to so many changes that were needed! But hopefully it should be finally completed as of the next check with the director.
Whilst completing shot 38, I checked with the director if these looked ok with the colour work: The paint on the girl and the Goldman’s eye shape. I was told that the girls eyelids need to be painted and checked and that the oldman’s eyes were ok. So, as I went through I checked them and ensured both were kept the same throughout. The paint had to be left right until the end however to check all frames were the same and none were changed.
As I was looking over this one more time I noticed 1 frame had the brush behind the book instead of in front of it so I edited that I re-posted it. Still awaiting confirmation from the director upon this scene however, so more edits might be made later.
Here is scene 38 for team colourless cleaned and coloured, now to check with the director if there needs to be any changes made and then I can tick this one off the list!
This is one of the scenes I have roughly cleaned up and coloured for the Holiday Reading Short.
Here is the roughly cleaned and coloured shot of Frankie, I will be handing this over to the director to check it is ok and then will move onto my next shot :)
Here is the finished dog walk scene, cleaned and coloured and ready to be placed into the animation once the background is added on at a later process. I am happy with how it turned out, now it needs to go to the director, checked and then exported into the correct format and the timing to be corrected to fit the right pattern.
Here is the video of half of the dog walk scene coloured and as I went through I realised some errors with splatter lines around the image and so I cleaned them up as I have gone along too.
When I was looking over the coloured image I wondered if the shadow looked better with or without the black line so I shall get advice from the director and then keep them the same all the way through.
These are the reference images I shall be using to colour the dog walk scene for Team Colourless with my first coloured image of how it shall look throughout (without the main background).
