You know really thinking about it. Zuko and Iroh being seen as refugees is actually not a stretch during their time in Ba sing se. Both are used to dealing with tough living conditions so they don’t come off as stuffy or stuck up. Zuko has a blatant burn on his face, a clear sign of a fire bender attack. Not to mention they can say without lying they have been attacked by fire nation on several occasions.

So when Jet shows up and accuses Iroh and Zuko of being fire benders, Jet must have sounded crazy because imagine accusing the guy with the MASSIVE burn scar on his face of being a fire bender? You don’t see Fire benders with burn marks, no wonder people were not buying it.

The senti theory confirmation gets funnier & funnier the more you think about it. So many plot holes, you pave one you get another 10 for free. Besides, the Agrestes used the peacock to fulfill their dream of a biological child cause surrogacy, adoption or smth weren't an option. After that the peacock was passed down like alcohol at a party. All their children are the same age.

Look, there's no nice way to say this so here goes nothing: some of you people need to deal with your unhealed traumas instead of projecting them onto ATLA characters to blatantly misinterpret and villainize them. I used to see this a lot towards Aang and Azula. People acting like Azula is irredeemable and pure evil, incapable of any complex human emotions or that Aang is a misogynistic Nice Guy™. Now I'm beginning to see it directed towards Zuko where people act like he'd be uncaring and cruel or downright abusive romantic partner. I'm not saying you can't criticise any of these characters, but these specific kinds of criticism are clearly just bastardisation of canon. What's worse is that people who spout these opinions act like they're facts and anyone who disagrees is just a salty stan who can't handle their fave being criticised.

Still cleaning out closets and boxes. Found this lovely key animation sequence of Azula from the Avatar series finale. I think this is by Jung Hye Young, or maybe Myoung Ga Young…? I’m pretty sure Lauren Montgomery storyboarded this acting. Incredible expressions and movement on the hair.
