Is This Thing On?

I haven't been here in 14 months. So much has happened!! New job led to promotion and lots of work. Our puppy had an aggression problem that landed me in the hospital and ultimately ended his life. The extreme and unpredictable aggression was caused by a Brain tumor. We bought a brand new house. Made some friends. Lost some friends. Started doing yoga. Yes, my big ass does yoga. Got another puppy after swearing we'd never have another dog. And more and more. I have missed this place. Going back and reading my old posts makes it clear how far I have come in the last year. Do people even write posts anymore?? My whole feed is reblogs or ads. It's kind of funny. I hope anyone that reads this is doing well and kicking ass daily.

“California man is demanding police accountability after an officer fatally shot his service dog in the head.

Ian Anderson of San Diego told The Huffington Post he was sleeping in his home when officers pounded on his door at 5 a.m. Sunday over a domestic disturbance call. The 24-year-old man said police had the wrong house.

The knocking woke up Anderson and his 6-year-old pit bull, Burberry, who started barking until Anderson opened the door for the officers.

In a surveillance video obtained by HuffPost, one of the officers can be seen petting the dog. Burberry then runs over to the other officer, who backs away, drawing his weapon. Burberry keeps following the officer, and seconds later — off-screen — the cop fatally shoots Burberry in the head.”

Ian Anderson is asking people to sign a petition to have SDPD officers take a mandatory training course in animal behavior. Spread this!

Guess who just got a speeding ticket for the first time in over 20 years?? I totally did not burst into tears. Ok. Maybe I did.

Sigh

I haven't been around much. Losing Maggie last week and taking care of her prior to that was such a hard thing. Add to that an overwhelmingly busy job, new puppy, and husband that works nights and life has been slightly chaotic. I feel like I am coming out of a long dark tunnel. I am hopeful that better things are on the horizon. Sending you all love and hugs and stuff. It's Friday!! Let's do this!!
