Architecture of density
what I do in my free time
GLAZE
Playing with the transparency of colors and paint made me excited.
Applying acrylic color, mixed with water and glazing liquid on a sleek surface, gives unexpected patterns.
The ink shrinks into abstract dots and sprinkles. It keeps a liquid look after drying. I enjoyed playing with layering those random patterns and to create new colors or combinations.
I used my pattern design to create body decorations.
I played with abstract forms and functional decorations.
Wrapped
How can paper behave like textile?
It’s a sample only made out of thin paper, folded into many loops and stuck to each other. The long folded rows are bendable and able to twist and drape around the body.
Second-hand draping
A quick exercise in creating a drapery made out of second-hand clothes.
It’s a re-design into a world of color blocking and a contrast between casual chick and classic quill.
A sleepy textile story
Soft materials are telling a story about a little girl who is starting to dream. The textiles are representing the mood of coziness and playfulness. It’s a girly atmosphere, conveyed through prints, weavings, unusual material combinations.

A few samples for my fashion story: A child’s nightmare, dreaming of a monster and ending up in a mysterious dark fairytale.

Shape and structure through soldering metal wires. It’s one shape of my ginger metamorphosis.
From ginger to donut metamorphosis in soft materials.
These decorations went now very abstract. Before they where too obvious and very geometric. I need to find a balance between both versions. Abstract shapes are easier to place on the body, I feel they are merging the human body. The geometric forms worked as a layer and where not really wearable. Next step is to think about presentation New concepts in fashion
Working with paper around the body. I like it a lot, paper has so many different facets and is somehow stable and fragile at the same time. I enjoy folding it and creating volumes with paper. Creating new silhouettes in fashion
Still glazing. I am now focusing on the shape and the right material I want to use. It’s difficult for me to make shapes which are more experimental and abstract. I like to stick to typical geometrical forms. Draping the forms on the body is another task. They are kind of to stiff and work better as a additional decoration than something to wear. new concepts in fashion
Midterm presentation for the half of this semester. I talked for the first time with the head of the department about how things are going and how I see my work. I got some quick feedback about how I can proceed and what to improve. An inspirational day, with seeing all the work from every student and reflective talks about the department.

First time draping on a mannequin! I chose the twisted Barbie garment I made last week, to make it 1:1. I didn’t want to copy it completely but sticked to the idea of twisting the fabric. Twisting different kinds of materials like foam and cotton in different thicknesses, gave a variety in form and volume to the garment. Draping is not that difficult as I thought! I want to learn pattern cutting! 👗 Creating new silhouettes in fashion
