Thoughts in a Slipstream

I'm from NYC, took a gap year in France, finished school at a North Western US college, now I'm in Japan on the JET program as an English assistant. One of my goals while here is to coax my students to try to be brave enough to speak up. I'm trying out this new thing called "being open" so, any questions, feel free.

Last day of Toide Tanabata! It was so crowded, but it really felt like festival. I finally bought one of those children masks. It was ¥1000. Worth it. The last picture is of #tanatcho #たなっちょ the mascot of the Toide Tanabata Festival. (高岡市戸出)

And the fun continues at the Toide Tanabata Festival. Tonight was the Andon parade. Andon are the floats that the children in this video are pulling. Each one is put together through the teamwork of different areas in Toide. #戸出七夕 #あんどんパレード (高岡市戸出)

With the guidance of a coworker, I could put together some plum liqueur last weekend. Now I just have to wait at least 2-3 months. Fingers crossed. #umeshu #梅酒作り (Tonami-shi, Toyama, Japan)
