Summary: Working at Neverland Ranch had proved to be the best thing in your life, bringing you peace and joy. Everything felt complete around you until a certain someone comes home and rocks your world of it's axis.
Tapping a hand nervously against your leg you sit in the silent waiting room. A few weeks ago you had applied for a job at a barn near you to work with rescue horses. Everything felt fine and normal until the interviewer had sent you extremely secretive coordinates for the interview. A bit on edge you had arrived at the location, immediately two guards had escorted you inside and told you to wait.
A door suddenly opened and in walked a tall women who seemed to be in her mid 50s.
"Yes hi that's me" you rise from the chair reaching a hand out to hers. The women has a strong sturdy grip her presence calming you a bit.
"Nice to meet you I'm Beth. Head manager of the stable you applied for work. Come on follow me"
Walking after Beth she leads you into an office and makes a gesture for you to sit down. Taking a seat in a comfortable armchair you face her.
Beth grabs a stack of papers before taking the other armchair.
"So Y/n tell me what type of horse experience do you have?
"Well I've grown up around horses, handled all from youngsters to seniors. Also handled a lot of rescues back at home so I have a lot of experience I would say "
Beth looks up suprised "You have experience with rescue horses? That is great not many people have that. Well a lot of these questions are worthless then...hm lets see. Have you ever worked for a famous person before?"
Caught of guard you look at Beth in shock. "No I have not. Is this relevant for the job?"
"Yes very relevant. Alright well we need to run a background check on you and you need to sign all these papers if you want to work with us. I do think you'll be a great fit for the team Y/n"
Your head is spinning from all the information. What the hell is Beth talking about, Famous person, background checks, papers?
"Any questions so far?" She looks at you
"I-yes where is the stables located?"
"Ah yes at Neverland Ranch. Have you heard of it?" Beth answers flipping through a few papers.
"As in Michael Jacksons estate?" You ask confused head spinning even more.
Beth hums and sorts through a few papers putting them down.
Trying to grasp at anything that makes sense you sit there in silence.
"I know this is a lot Y/n but trust me you would fit in great over there. Take a few days, read through everything here and if all feels good call me and we will sign the contracts."
Nodding you stand up thanking Beth for the time.
A few days later you called her back accepting the job.
It's silent around her. The only thing making noise is the gravel under her shoes as she walks down the path towards the stables and the birds chirping in the trees. It was still very early in the morning. It had only been 7 months since she started at Neverland but everything felt good immediately.
Everyone was so nice and treated her fairly. The horses were so sweet and she loved being able to make a small difference in the world.
Pushing open the door to the stables the smell of horse, shavings and hay hit her. It's a comforting smell at this point.
The horses are all outside already. Grabbing a wheelbarrow and a pitchfork she starts mucking out the stalls. The task at hand bringing a kind off peace to her soul.
A little while later the first of her colleagues start showing up everyone greeting her happily.
"Early as always Y/n" Beth greets her and gets a sheepish smile in return. You couldn't help it that you loved being here so much that you arrived early and often left late.
The ranch brought you comfort, peace and joy.
Suddenly Jenny shows up bubbling with energy. Leaning against the stall door with a big smile.
"Have you heard Y/n!? Apparently Michael got home last night and he always loves spending time down here. Oh it will be so nice to hang out with him a bit"
"Oh wow that will be fun! I haven't met him yet looking forward to that " you smile at her leaning against the handle of the pitchfork.
"Oh my god I forgot that you haven't met him yet! Oh you will love him Y/n, he is so sweet and kind. Very funny also" Jenny babbles on joy painting every word.
Beth suddenly shows up again and gives Jenny a stern glance that makes the bubbly women scamper away to work. Shaking your head with a slight smile you finish up the last stalls before moving onto the next task.
You really enjoyed the routine here. Everything always being the same, it was nice knowing what was coming the next day. Walking into the feed room you start prepping everyones night feed.
Just like that the clock strikes 10 am and Beth calls for a meeting at the big board in the stable.
Walking over you join the rest of your colleagues waiting for Beth to start.
"So guys today as the focus is to bathe the horses. They all need a good clean after the muddy spring. Y/n I assigned you that task so just do as many as you can during work hours" Beth empathise the during with a stern look.
Nodding you give her a cheeky smile pleased with the task you got assigned. Beth keeps handing out tasks before clearing her throat again.
"I think a many of you guys have heard but Michael is back at the estate again. Bill has informed me that he will stay for a while so don't me suprised if he shows up here a lot. Alright that's it for now, have a good day everyone!" Dismissing the group everyone walks in different directions. You heading into the tack room to grab all the bath supplies. Putting everything outside where the wash bay is you look at the list Beth had written.
First up was Crimson a gorgeous off the track thoroughbred chestnut gelding. He was very easy to handle so this would be a breeze. Heading down towards the pastures you spot Beth walking up towards the main house on the ranch.
Grabbing the chestnut gelding you walk him to the wash bay and tie him up. Waiting for the water to get the right temperature you get started. Crimson being the good boy he is dosen't make a big fuss and is quickly done. Scraping off the water from his body you give a carrot as a reward. Walking him back down to the pasture you let him out grabbing the next horse.
For the next few hours that is exactly what you do slowly making way down the list. Glancing at the clock you notice it's soon time for lunch. Finishing up with one of the newer mares at the ranch Maybelle a bay warmblood you untie her.
Her coat shines in the sun making her look all coppery. Walking her around the corner you spot a group of people making their way down to the barn. You can see Beth and a few others that you don't recognise from far away. Shaking it off you walk Maybelle to her pasture before letting her out.
Immediately the mare paws at the ground before going down for a roll. Groaning you look on as all your hard work goes down the drain. Maybelle gets up with a pleased shake now full of dust on her once gleaming coat.
"Did you just bathe her?" Beths amused voice is heard behind you. Spinning around you face the group you spotted before and coming face to face with Michael Jackson.
Immediately looking away from him you look at Beth "yeah just got done with her" looking over your shoulder at the very dirty mare.
"You look like you took a bath yourself" Beth remarks looking over your clothes.
You hadn't realised how soaking wet you were until you also looked down. Your hair was dripping water and your top was soaked through. "Damm I should have brought shampoo myself "
A soft laugh is heard at your comment and you look over at Michael hiding a smile. Beth suddenly kicks into gear "Oh yes Michael please meet Y/n, Y/n meet Michael "
Extending a hand you shake his captured by the way his hand engulfs yours. His touch is tender and warm sending sparks down your spine.
"Nice to meet you I'm Y/n as Beth just told you"
Michael grins at you "Likewise Y/n are you always this wet?"
Blushing furiously at his comment you hope to god he meant that innocently because he could not look that good and say stuff like that to your face.
"No not usually, bath day for the horses" stuttering slightly you take a step back gesturing to the mare in the pasture behind you.
Michael hums before Beth cuts in "Alright well time to head off to lunch and no Y/n not anything. Lunch now" the older women gestures you towards the table practically chasing you there.
"Alright Alright can I at least change? I promise to not pick up any work on the way"
Beth sighs before nodding and you break away walking over to the tack room where you keep a pair of spare clothes.
"What was that about?" Michael asks Beth curiosity painting his words referencing the situation that just happened.
"Y/n is amazing, such a doll to work with but she tends to...overwork herself always being first here and leaving last. I've gathered that she dosen't really like where she lives and much more prefers staying here. So I often have to force her to take breaks and eat but otherwise she is an absolute gem"
You had already peaked Michaels interest at the first interaction but now he was even more curious about you. Who was this mysterious woman nobody had told him about.
Back in the tack room you had just changed into dry clothes and grabbed a clean towel rubbing your hair a bit. Heading outside to the big table where everyone always ate you spot your colleagues.
Lunch in hand you arrive and see that the only spot left is next to Michael of course. Sitting down next to him you give him a smile as he looks at you.
"Did you take a shower yourself Y/n" Gabriel one of the stable hands teases with a big grin.
Giggling slightly you brush your damp hair over your shoulder "You would think so but no Duke just refused to stay still. I was absolutely soaked when I was finally done with his bath"
Gabriel lets out a hearty laugh eyes crinkeling at the corners.
You open up your lunch box very happy with todays food as you brought your favourite.
Digging in you chat to your colleagues catching up on their day so far when you hear a low voice cutting in.
"So how do you enjoy Neverland Y/n?" angling your body you face Michael who studies your face carefully like he is remembering every single detail.
The eye contact is intense and as you try and look away he chases you with his eyes keeping it steady.
"Well I love it to be honest. It's so peaceful here and I love working with all the horses and everyone is so nice so I really can't complain." Smiling shyly at him.
"That makes me glad to hear I've heard a lot about you these past months. You seem like a really good fit for the team."
"Thank you that means a lot to hear"
A sudden breeze catches your hair making an unruly strand flee from your ponytail just as you're reaching out to sweep it away Michaels hand comes up tucking it behind your ear.
Staring at him he just gives you a wink before turning towards his bodyguard Bill and starts chatting with him.
Michael had met you less then an hour ago and he is already making your head spin.
Composing yourself turning back towards Gabriel and Jenny who is both watching you with raised brows.
Giving them a stern glare to keep their mouth shut you keep eating your lunch hoping they would keep quiet. Thankfully they seemed to have given you mercy this time around.
Finishing your food and getting up Beths voice stops you for a second "Already done? You do know lunch dosen't end for another...30 minutes?"
"The horses won't bathe themselves and besides I hate sitting still" shrugging your shoulders slightly.
Michael is watching you, studying carefully like he is trying to figure you out. Like you are a complex puzzle he needs to solve and patch together.
Walking away you only spoke half the truth. You didn't hate sitting still, you hated the way your mind ran away into a dark place everytime you got a break. Whenever you kept busy the thoughts were light but when the silence settles the darkness came creeping in.
Dragging a hand through your ponytail you can still feel Michaels gentle touch from earlier.
Something was different about him, different but good. You liked the energy around him, he felt safe.
Grabbing a halter you walk down towards Dallas field a grey youngster that would pose a bit of a challenge. Leading him towards the wash bay you tie him up.
The wash goes on without a hitch and just as you are scrapping the water off his body the young gelding gets frightened by something jumping up and landing on your foot.
The pain is instant making you gasp as you stumble backwards. Jenny who had seen everything came rushing towards you helping you to sit down on a nearby bench.
"Are you okay? Is it broken? Should I get Beth? I'm getting Beth!" Jenny rambles in a panic before running off again to find Beth.
Stars dance a in front of your eyes and the pain in your foot is only getting worse throbbing and aching.
You know you need to take the shoe off before the swelling gets to bad. Taking a deep breath you steel yourself and in one motion rips off the shoe.
The pain is unbearable for a second and for a minute you think you might pass out.
Biting your lip hard, a metallic taste spread through your mouth. Great lip is also busted now.
Jenny comes back with an ice boot in hand. "Put this on, we didn't have any ice packs so the boot will have to work. Beth is coming but she needed to grab the first aid kit" she rambles on panic still clear on her face.
Grabbing the ice boot you put it on your foot leaning against the wall. The pain is still a lot but manageable at this point. Jenny hovers over you worry shining bright.
Beth rounds the corner first aid kit in hand. To your relief Michael was not following her, you didn't want him to see you like this already. Weak and pathetic. Your fathers words ringing clear as day, always berating you for crying, beating you for asking.
Shuddering you push away the memories focusing on Beth.
She gently checks over your foot, flexing it and making sure everything is okay.
"I don't think anything is broken, but you should get it checked out. I'm sending you to the doctors now, Jenny will take you. Then stay home for at least a week."
Nodding defeated, Jenny and Beth help you too the car sending you off to the hospital.
Waving goodbye to your friend that so kindly dropped you off at Neverland turning around to face the gorgeous ranch.
You know Beth had said a week but laying at home in that cold apartment made you crazy. You needed some warmth and joy. The negative thoughts were eating you alive.
The foot was not broken but badly sprained so you had been ordered crutches for 2 weeks and keeping it wrapped tightly to reduce swelling.
Sighing softly you start jumping down the gravel path, already feeling much better just being back at Neverland.
Arriving down at the stables you don't see anyone. Leaning against the door you nearly trip from fright when you hear "Y/n" behind you.
Turning around Beth stands there with a disapproving look.
A light panic flares up inside you "I know you said a week Beth but I can't be at home anymore. I'm not doing good there, please just let me come and hangout here during the days. I promise I won't work just be here and just be happy"
Her face softens slightly at your frantic explaining
"Calm down Y/n of course you can be here, as long as you rest and no work at all. Is it broken?"
"Thank you, no not broken but badly sprained. 2 weeks of crutches" waving one of the slightly.
Beth nods before getting called over to something leaving you alone.
Looking around you decide to jump over to the big bench where everyone eats lunch. It's gorgeous and placed perfectly for the sun. You had brought a few books to read during this unexpected break.
Opening the book you dissappear into the world of fantasy.
Beth stands at the barn door watching you. A soft but concerned look on her face. She had always felt protective over you. Something told her that you needed someone secure.
You sit in your own little world for a long time before a soft voice pulls you back.
Snapping your head up coming face to face with Michael that has taken a seat across from you.
"It's a romance novel about a female warrior that falls in love with the enemy prince and how they deal with everything around them"
Smiling shyly at Michael you close the book, glancing around.
"This place really is beautiful "
"I do agree, it's the reason I bought it. Needed a place full of beauty away from everything " Michael looks over his shoulder at the ranch behind him.
"It's magical" you say very softly afraid of breaking the moment between you two. It something fragile, something new.
"I named it after Peter Pan" he shares turning back to face you. Today he wears sunglasses covering those gorgeous eyes that seemed to uncover your soul.
"I loved that story when I was younger, it was a place of freedom back then"
Michael hums in agreement, looking to be deep in thought. Eyebrows furrowed.
The silence stretches between the two of you but it's not uncomfortable, it's familiar. Peaceful even.
Picking up the book again you start where you left off. Letting Michael be in his thoughts, but you are a bit curious what he is thinking about.
It's you he is thinking about. The way you said those words a place of freedom. That is exactly what he would call Neverland whenever he needed to flee reality.
He watches you absolutely enchanted by the book. Your features soft and light but he sees that guard in your eyes. Walls being kept up high.
You intrigued him at the first meeting now you make him even more curious. Who are you and what have you've been through?
Something small flutters in his stomach as he watches your hair fly in the breeze, soft strands whisping around.
He clears his throat gently to not scare you. The attempt failing as you flinch at the sound looking up at him.
"Didn't mean to scare you, do you have a favourite book?"
"It's okay, I'm a bit skittish. I think *insert favourite book* but there are many good alternatives out there"
"I've never read it. Would you be willing to borrow it to me?"
Michael watches you light up at his interest and his heart stutters a bit.
"Of course, I adore it. Do need to reread it after you are done then"
"Why don't we read it together?"
You look up at him with suprised eyes and he smiles softly. You remind him of a baby bunny.
"Yes, I guess that you won't work for a while and then we can read together and you can explain all your favourite parts."
You look like someone just gave you the most beautiful present in the world.
"I would love that actually. I'll bring it tomorrow!"
"It's a date" with that Michael gets up and leaves you alone.
Your heart skips a few beats and a faint blush is spreading across your cheeks. Shaking your head you look down at the pages again a soft but silly smile taking over your face.
Jumping down the gravel path you stop for a second to appreciate the view. Gorgeous green fields spread out, the theme park seen in the distance.
Continuing the path down you arrive at the table, waving to Jenny in the distance. Sitting down you look down at the book in your hand. It was well worn at this point, pages full of love.
Flinching hard you accidentally knock your elbow against the table wincing slightly from the pain.
"You need to stop doing that" pouting towards Michael who stands there giggling slightly. Rubbing your elbow with your other hand.
"I'm sorry did you hurt yourself?"
Michael takes a few steps closer sitting down next to you and gently grabs you elbow. His touch is feather light and so careful. Your whole body stills watching him examine it closely. Goosebumps rise at his touch and a faint blush dustes your cheeks.
"No big injuries what I can see" he looks up and raises an eyebrow at your breathless look.
You nod silently desperate to focus on anything else then his hand on your arm. Michael drops the topic and turn towards the book at the table.
"Yes, do you want me to start?"
Michael nods as you clear your throat and start reading chapter 1.
The hours pass as the two of you read through the book enjoying every second of each others company. Michael taking over when your voice gets tired and vice versa. It becomes a routine, days pass and the two of you meet at the bench every morning reading through the book until suddenly nearly a whole week has passed.
It's later in the evening, time for you to head home. Michael had walked with you to the entrance where your friend was going to pick you up. His hand resting on your elbow keeping you steady.
His touch had become familiar over the past days. At first it was small and subtle but when he noticed you leaning into his touch he became bolder and more touchy. A hand often resting on the small of your back.
"So same time tomorrow?" Michael asks looking at you with fondness in his eyes.
"I can't be here until 5 pm tomorrow earliest. I have the checkup at the doctors and it takes a while to get there and back" you frown disappointed. You liked being around Michael, his presence made you calm he made the dark thoughts go away.
"Why don't you come here after? We can eat dinner and read a bit. Bill will drive you home"
"I would love that, I'll be here as soon as I can tomorrow "
Your friend pulls up next to the two of you and you get ready to leave.
"I'll be looking forward to it."
You're just about to jump to the car when you turn around, crutches in one hand giving Michael a quick one armed hug.
He dosen't have time to react and in a second you are in the car. Smiling shyly at him through the window.
Michael smiles back watching the car drive off. Trying to remember your quick but burning touch. He turns around walking up to the main house, thoughts filled by you.
It's around 6 pm when you finally get dropped outside Neverland. The sky is already dark but not from the night sky but from dark clouds rolling in like a threatening omen.
Shuddering slightly you jump towards the door. Today had been long and exhausting doctors had pooked and prodded your foot multiple times. Apparently it wasn't healing as fast as they liked.
Arriving at the big door you barely knock once before the door is opened, Michael standing there.
His soft smile flickering slightly as he sees how worn out you are. Stepping aside he lets you in.
The rough day you've had melting away as you marvel at the gorgeous interior. Michael watches you fondly as you look around the entrance taking it all in.
"This is absolutely incredible Michael " you say a bit breathless.
You are incredible he wants to blurt out but he bites his tounge. Showing you towards the dining room were dinner was served already. He helps you into your chair making sure you are comfortable before taking his own seat.
The dinner is amazing, smells and tastes absolutely delicious every bite melting in your mouth. You and Michael chat lightly about the book so far and what he thinks about it.
Neither notices the downpour of rain outside.
Finishing dinner the two of you move to Michaels living room. It's big plenty of space but still you sit down next to one another. Picking up the book you start reading where you left off.
A few hours pass as the two of you enjoy each others company. Until a yawn breaks your sentence midway.
"What's the time?" You ask Michael looking around.
"Just past 9 pm, we should probably end so you can get some rest. I can tell you had a long day"
Smiling gratefully at him you reach for your crutches when Bill enters with a regretful look.
"I'm sorry Michael but there is a storm outside there is no way I can drive miss Y/n back safely "
Michael turns to you "do you mind staying here? I trust Bill and I would rather not risk any accidents "
"I'll gladly stay if you let me" you say softly and Michael lights up.
He helps you up from the couch giving you the crutches as the two of you head to the stairs.
Michael starts walking up the stairs when he realises you are not following anymore. Turning around he spots you still at the bottom. Furrowing his eyebrows a bit before he realises the crutches.
"Ah well that is a problem "
"Yeah I live on the ground floor so stairs haven't been a problem but I can just sleep on the couch"
"None of that, here I'll just carry you up"
You try to protest but Michael sweeps you up into bridal style making you hook your arms around his neck holding on tight.
He gently carries you upstairs, enjoying the flushed look on your face. Blush raging freely.
Setting you down carefully he helps you find your footing before letting go a bit, not completely a steady hand still on your waist.
You're a bit dazed from the trip up, Michaels presence overwhelming you in a good way making butterflies swarm in your stomach.
Michael leads you into the guest room and shows you where the bathroom is. Just as he is about to leave you realise you don't have anything to sleep in.
"Do you have anything for me to sleep in?" You say it so quietly he has to really focus to hear you correctly.
Smiling softly he leaves for his closet grabbing a random t-shirt.
"Sleep well Bunny, I'm just down the hall if anything happens" the nickname just slipping out on accident but your happy smile makes it worth it.
"You too Michael, thank you again"
He leaves and you jump into the bathroom grabbing a new toothbrush, brushing your teeth and changing into the shirt. It smells just like him and you take a deep breath just inhaling his scent.
Closing your eyes it's like he is all around you as you shudder slightly.
That's when you hear it. A low rumble in the distance. Thunder.
You had always had a hard time with storms as a child. Your fathers beatings never making the thing better as he loathed you for crying during the rumbling.
The trauma had set of a deep fear and you didn't deal well with storms at all. The only time you still cried, fear rooted in your body.
Crawling under the covers you hide under the blanket hoping it will muffle the sound but it's no help.
Your body is tense and breathing laboured as you hide from the storm. Eyes shut painfully hard but tears still leaking out from the corners.
You muffle a sob and then a whimper. You know it's impossible for Michael to hear you but it's just routine at this point trying to stay quiet.
The storm just rolls closer and closer making it harder to be quiet as your heart beats frantically.
At one especially loud rumble you let out a tiny scream before clamping your hands over your mouth praying Michael didn't hear that.
Michael who also couldn't sleep because of swirling thoughts immediately sat up when he heard the strangled cry.
Standing up he walks the short distance over to the guest room.
Carefully opening the door he looks inside before flicking on the light. The sight before him makes his heart crumble.
You are hiding under the blanket trying to desperately muffle your sobs as your body trembles violently.
Michael slowly walks towards you "Y/n? It's me Michael "
You freeze for a second hearing his voice. Oh god he was going to hate you just like your family. Why did you wake up you stupid useless person.
"Bunny? Come on out" Michaels voice is soft and gentle trying to lure you out.
He dosen't sound angry, he sounds concerned, worried. Your mind is confused you are always met with anger during storms but now there is a gentle voice speaking instead.
"Come on little Bunny, let me see your pretty face"
You slowly fold away the covers sitting up slightly. Body still trembling violently, facing Michael but not looking him in the eyes.
Michael hearts breaks into a million pieces looking at your trembling form on the bed. His t-shirt clinging protectively to you.
"Oh Bunny, can I touch you?"
You give him a slow trembling nod and Michael sinks down onto the bed taking your shaking hands into his steady ones.
"That's it you are okay, I'm here you are safe now"
Another loud rumble shakes the sky and you throw yourself at Michael desperate for comfort and safety. Michael immediately holds you close rocking you back and forth slightly.
"There we go just breath little Bunny, you are okay I've got you"
Minutes pass as Michael rocks you steadily back and forth his presence grounding you. Calming down enough to take a few steady breaths you sniffle slightly.
"Just like that you are doing so good"
"Do you think you can try and sleep again?" Michael asks gently stills holding you close.
Panic immediately spreads as you hold onto Michael harder "please don't leave me, I can't be alone " you whisper.
Sadness claws at Michael, who did something so bad to you that you were completely traumatised.
"I won't but we should move into my room, it's partially sound proofed it's quieter."
You don't have time to agree before Michael is standing up with you in his arms. Carrying you down the hall to his bedroom.
He gently sets you down on the bed, walking over to the other side to get in. Michael was right it was a lot quieter here, the storm sounding far away instead of right over you.
It's cold without his touch and you scoot up leaning against the headboard waiting for him to get in.
Michael gets in also leaning against the headboard taking your hand in his drawing slow circles on it.
You want to lays pressed against him but you don't know how he would react.
Michael flicks off the bedside lamp leaving the room in complete darkness. It's silent expect for your sniffles.
Suddenly you take a breath "It was my father" you murmur weakly.
Michael dosen't say anything but he squeezes your hand like he is saying that he is there and listening.
"He used to beat me for crying, asking the wrong questions, sometimes even just looking at something wrong"
You take a shaky breath tears gathering as you finally open up about this dark part in your life that no one had heard before.
"It was especially bad during storms. I was terrified and would cry and he would beat me until I passed out. Said it was all my fault because I couldn't keep my damn mouth shut."
You take a trembling breath and Michael scoots closer now pressed up against you. Putting an arm around your shoulders holding you close.
"I became terrified of storms because of that and ever since I was a little girl I can't handle storms. Only remembering my fathers cruel words"
Michael just holds you close. His heart hurting for you. How anyone could be so cruel to such a beautiful and intelligent woman was beyond him.
Silence stretches between you two in the darkness until Michael clears his throat.
"Joseph wasn't kind to me either. Would punish me a lot for small things going wrong with the performances or if I talked back at all. He tried to control my life, made me feel worthless and ugly"
You flick on your bedside lamp turning towards him. How anyone could be cruel to Michael was beyond you.
You slowly shift positions so you are straddling him. Forcing him to look in your eyes "Michael listen to me, you are the most beautiful man I've ever met. You are kind, smart and so handsome. Never let your father put doubt in your mind" every word is sincere and raw.
Michael stares at you, overcome by emotions he lets a hand rest on your cheek and overwhelming urge to kiss you.
It's silent between you two as you stare into each others eyes.
"Can I kiss you" Michael asks softly, eyes flickering down to your lips.
You breath out a yes and he slowly connects your lips. They fit perfectly together, exploring cautiously.
He deepens the kiss slightly making your eyes flutter close. As he slowly pulls away you collapse against his chest listening to his heart beat.
"I've wanted to do that since I first met you" Michael murmurs softly stroking your hair.
A soft glow is the only thing illuminating the two of you. The thunder far away from your mind but sometimes a shudder wrecks through but everytime Michael murmurs soft words keeping you calm.
As you slowly drift of to sleep in his arms he flicks of the lamp, laying the two of you in a comfortable position.
"I'll always be here from now on little Bunny and whatever your father did say and do was wrong but I'm here to protect you now. You are safe my little Bunny go to sleep "
"Will you sing something?" You murmur nearly half asleep.
"What do you want to hear?"
"Anything you always sing so good"
Michael softly starts singing the girl is mine, his voice rocking you off to sleep as he holds you close. You finally felt safe and at peace finding your missing puzzle piece and as you visit dream land Michael watches over you fondly the same thoughts passing through his head. This was his person, his future. He had finally found her.
