This blog is now only run by one mod, Kato/CRD (they/them, previously & elsewhere elliot/Hesper) as hyperfem/♀️/HYP (it/its + neos) has retired. It created the blog icon, header, and old banners!

Last year, Anomaluary was run in January. This year it is in February as I was too busy to set it up.

I really like your infohazard and cognitohazard flags! Do you think you could do a memetichazard one too?

Also, I'm not too caught up on SCP stuff now n' days, so I was wondering if there was a dream version of any of the previously mentioned hazards? If so, could you make a flag on that too. Only if you're up for it, of course. Thanks!

Name: Memetic hazard / Oneirohazard

An identity flag for those who are a memetic / oneirohazard, are memetic / oneirohazardous, have parts of their identity that are memetic / oneirohazards, and so on.

A memetic hazard is a fictional concept from the SCP wiki that describes a piece of information or culture (a 'meme') that has an anomalous effect. These overlap heavily with infohazards, but are generally more specific: a memetic hazard might be a specific word, while an infohazard can affect you if you know about something at all.

An oneirohazard is a type of cognitohazard that occurs in dreams. A cognitohazard is a fictional concept from the SCP wiki that describes something that causes an anomalous effect when perceived. For example, a specific tree that appears in dreams that gives you sleep paralysis once you wake up.

The first symbol is meant to represent a page twisting as well as mimic the look of DNA, from the original meaning of "meme" as a parallel to "gene". The second is a cloud, for dreams. Colors are just my own associations.

A flag with two parts: a main section with five horizontal stripes, and a slanted, vertical stripe with multiple concentric rounded triangles. These triangles are shades of dark blue, getting darker as you go outwards. The stripe has outward-facing bumpy edges. The main section colors are a gradient from pale orange to dark reddish brown. In the center is a light orange hazard sign. It has an hourglass-shaped symbol with short lines on it.

A similar flag to the previous, but with a pale blue to reddish pink gradient in the main section. The hazard sign instead has a cloud with an exclamation mark.
