First of all, I'd like to say that I know that what happened to me is not as serious as what has happened to other people regarding YouTubers, but I'd still like to put this out there.
Two years ago, when I signed up for twitter for the first time, I followed all of my favourite YouTubers immediately. I eventually made a couple of friends on the website, one of which I was particularly close to.
We both considered ourselves huge fans of Craig, and would often tweet him asking him to follow us, as most "fangirls", as we called ourselves, would do. He eventually followed us both, which we thought was amazing.
We would send him lots of DMs, to which he never replied, which is understandable.
Until one day, he sent me a message, completely out of the blue, saying "hey beautiful". Of course, I was happy, I took screenshots, etc, excited that my favourite YouTuber had noticed me.
Then he sent me another message a while after this, but this time he said "hey, you're sexy". (Please keep in mind that I was 12 years old at the time, and Craig must have been at least 19.
I did not respond to this message, although he continued to send them to me. They would be along the lines of "you're sexy", "you're pretty hot", etc.
I just wanted to post this to get my story out, although as I mentioned before I am aware of how it is not as serious as others.
