Beth turned her head to look at the person sharing the holding room with her. Had they been taken too? This whole situation was hard to take in.
"— How long have you been here?" She cleared her throat midway through her sentence; the dehydration getting to her.
Her eyebrow furrowed after seeing
how emotionless Beth was. Lori thought that Beth deserved to be happy.
"It’s okay to not be okay, you know."
Instead of saying redundant things, Lori wanted to show her that she cared, — that Beth didn’t have to go through it alone.
"—- I wasn’t okay when I lost my folks and Rick."
There was no change in the look on Beth's face. She tilted her head a little, forcing herself to hold back in rolling her eyes.
"—- You got Rick back," she let her walls drop the tiniest bit. "My mom's never comin' back."
"This is weird…there’s no walkers out."
"You think somebody's been here already?" She hoped for the best.

As he made his way down from the upper floors, he hadn’t expected to run into anyone, especially not the farmer’s daughter. He’d thought everyone had left by now, and had taken his chance to look around the prison, finding other safe routes out of the prison to either block or take note of if he wanted to slip outside without being seen. When her voice broke the silence, Merle paused for a moment before continuing down the stairs.
"No. Unless you haven’t noticed, I’m not exactly a part of their little friendship circle." A sarcastic smile crossed his face as he shrugged his shoulders non-committally. "How about you? I’d figure that they’d at least let you in their little pauwaus."
To the shock of even herself, Beth wasn't nervous to see Merle walking closer to her. She'd never seen him do harm to anyone, other than the scuffle him and Glenn had taken part in, but she'd heard of the things he'd done. However, the youngest Greene girl believed that everyone deserves a second chance.
"I guess I'm too young," she responded, shrugging. She couldn't help but admire the tool that rested on the end of the man's stump, but she wouldn't stare - just glance. "Don't have a lot of experience." She continued on trying to come up with excuses, but even Beth herself didn't quite understand why she was never given a chance. Of course, it would be worrying for her father and sister, her doing some handy work, but she could never learn if she never tried.
"You stayin' here for a while?"

The evident lack of food and water Beth had consumed these past few days came striking again as the young blonde sat down with a clumsy and heavy move. Smoothly, Maggie took her backpack off, pulling it open in order to get a bottle of water and hand it to her sister. “Here,” she said, an exhausted sigh falling from her lips before she could even restrain it. Of course, the younger girl wondered where they had been this whole time; why it had taken them so long before finding her. Where to start? What to tell? Maggie didn’t really know how she could verbalize such a tricky situation. “Well that’s kinda complicated.” How lame. At some point, Beth would know what happened but the expression, the exhaustion still plastered on the others’ faces felt unbearable, like Maggie didn’t have any any right to say it out loud; maybe if she recalled it, the thin mental armour everyone had pulled on the second they got out of the Terminus sector would literally shatter in billion pieces. Being so detached to things never lasted, they all knew that. For awhile, you’d feel just fine about something terrible then one day, it fades away like it never existed and every single emotion you tried to keep away, come rushing inside the veins; the organs and it numbs you, oh, how badly it numbs you. Here comes the regrets and the guiltiness, two single words which appears so innoncent and harmless that one would never imagine the effect it can have on a human being, how deep it can eat you up.
After several minutes of thinking, Maggie finally cleared her throat; pushing every single thoughts away. “We have all the time in the world to talk about this.” A small smirk tugged itself on the brunette’s lips, trying its best to appear convincing enough that Beth would not ask further questions about this. If it wasn’t obvious yet, the youngest Greene would realize something horrific had happened back to wherever she thought there were but they were simply not ready to talk about it, not for the moment. What truly mattered was that all of them were back together and alive. Somehow, this thought warmed something up inside Maggie and it felt good to see the group reunited. Could anyone wish for something better during an apocalypse? A family would help you to get through, to hold on when there was no hope left, to smile when everything had turned to grey, support you when your knees weren’t strong enough to stand your weight. And nothing else mattered to Maggie.
She was right - They did have all the time in the world to talk about things that had gone down previously. She wasn't ever going to allow herself to be seperated from her sister, or the rest of the group, again. No way in a million years. She stayed close to the brunette, in fear that something could though she had no complaints with being with Daryl for a while, the feeling that her big sister may have been hurt, or even dead, made her feel sick to her stomach. It even made her want to throw up thinking about it now. She didn't know what she'd do without her - she couldn't have lost both her father and her sister... she just couldn't have. "We're gonna' be okay," she stated, nodding her head in reassurance. They'd all found each other, and that was some kind of miracle. She was sure now that there'd be more to follow. Everything would work out just fine. They'd be better than they were at the Prison. They had new additions - more firepower. More faith. More hope.
It was getting late. The night was drawing in quicker than Beth had anticipated. She looked up at the nearing night sky, before turning her attention back to the brunette beside her. "Where were you headin'? Before we found eachother." She was curious, and surprised at herself for not asking this question before now. She could always tell when Rick Grimes had an agenda, and he had that current look on his face that read 'Got somewhere to be.' She continued to look at Maggie, however. "You been travellin' all day?" She was silently hinting that she was tired. If she didn't rest soon, or even sleep, then she'd most probably pass out; the lack of food and water she had consumed in the past weak helped to compliment that. Her mouth was dry and her stomach was empty.
The events that took place within the three minute span were unreal. Her touch proved the latter, though, and his hand moved to cradle the back of her head. He would have been screaming, blaming his hysteria for playing such a cruel trick on him; for making him believe that Beth was really here. But she was, and he knew that, and he’d never leave her again.
❝I know.. Beth, I know.❞
He doesn’t know what else to say, how could he? Zach couldn’t say that everything would stop because they were together again, he couldn’t make such a promise. They part, though, and it seems as though the world stands still once more. She’s really there, flesh-and-blood, breathing, okay. A hand moved to run through his unruly dark curls, eyes flickering to the ground momentarily before moving back up to her. He was happy for once in a long time, and he could almost smile.
Almost.
Then the realization that they were trapped inside a large metal container, awaiting their certain doom to be feasted on flew back into his mind. His heart shattered; this is not how Beth deserved to die.
❝After everything that happened at the store, I barely got out. My leg was pretty broken — I thought I was dead. Then I came across this group, there was women and children, one of the women was a vet. She fixed me up and pretty soon I just left, tried to find you guys. I got to the prison and saw what had happened — god it was horrible, but I didn’t see you, so I kept looking. Found the railroad tracks leading to this place and, well, here we are now.. What about you? What happened to everyone else?❞
Of course, Beth never thought she'd ever lay her eyes on the boy in front of her again. When someone's gone - they're gone. You never expect to meet them again, unless it's an hallucination. This was real, though. Zach was really here, and Beth could literally reach out and touch him. She'd be lying if she said she didn't miss him. She missed him every single day.
She listened intently, each emotion she felt clear on her face; she felt sadness, fear for what the boy went through, happiness, relief and hope. She had even more hope now.
"I thought you were dead." She stated the obvious - Daryl had told her he was dead. He never exactly told her he'd seen him perish, but he didn't need to. He was gone.. but now he was back, and it was overwhelming. The climax of Beth's emotions allowed a smile to appear across her face. She reached forward and touched the top of Zach's arm. She didn't say anything while she did this, it was just as if to say 'It's okay'. It was okay.
"The Prison.. it was lost. You saw it lost. Everyone got split up.. I don't know who's with who, I just know I got out with Daryl. We were together for a while. We found a few places to stay for a while - it was okay. But.. but then one of the places got overrun.. and.."
She, herself, couldn't even explain what had happened, but she tried to. "This man in a car took me, and now I'm here."
Daryl just rolls his eyes and starts walking. “We only gotta bit o’ time before the sun goes down.” He mutters, trying to change the topic.
Beth followed after Daryl, not wanting to take the lead - needing guidance. "We're low on food," she tried to change the mood, but everything kept going back to a dark and dull topic.

”We don’t give up hope..look for a new place,and try it again.”
She nodded, for once agreeing with a companion of hers. "We better get goin' before dark."
It had been a few days since he seen a living soul walking around. Lucky for them both he wasn’t a easy shooter because if he were she would have been shot at. He lowered his gun when he saw that this person was actually alive. He was a bit freaked that she was around when no one else was. He put the safety back on and placed the gun back in his pocket. Through a think Irish accent he said, “You should be more careful. I could have shot you out of fear love.”
"I'm sorry," she apologised, in a friendly yet nervous tone. For the first time ever, she was meeting somebody alone. Before, it'd always been in big groups - like new people coming to live in the Prison. However, this was a whole new territory. "Are you by yourself?" She asked, looking past him to see complete emptiness, other than the many trees surrounding them both. She didn't quite know how to stand or what to say.
He slumped a little in the relief at the words he’d been waiting to hear. His head was filled with a mind-blowing amount of worry for his father and Michonne — he’d allowed himself to be separated from them by strangers, all three of them weaponless and, therefore, defenseless. How could he have been so stupid? So naive?
He turned to the strangers sharing the small space with them, working up the courage to address them directly.
"Why are you in here? What were they gonna do to you?" he asked, concerned — whatever these people were in here for, Rick and Michonne might be needing to endure, too.
Beth was on edge - this whole situation was very surreal, even for a zombie apocalypse. A few months ago, they were safe and sound living in a Prison with everyone they cared about and, now, they were trapped somewhere, with no clue as to what the people of Terminus wanted.
She looked at Carl, before turning back to the strangers in the train car with them. Hearing them speak made her even more nervous than she was before, if that was even remotely possible.
"Honestly? We don't know," another voice spoke from the darkness, this time a woman. She took a step forward so that she was now level with the other man. "They stuck us in here days ago."

Before all of this, Sasha use to hate mornings. Waking up early, alarms, anything that had to do with mornings — except for breakfast, she sure loved breakfast. But, all in all she’d rather sleep in. However, after the outbreak she’d learned to love mornings. It could be your last so might as well enjoy it and take notice of the little things. There’s no point in sitting cooped up worried and anxious all the time. Maybe that’s why she’s grown to love mornings, it was her quiet time, to relax for a few minutes before reality caught up.
Hearing footsteps behind her, Sasha turned around to see Beth walking by as well. Smiling back, she gave a small wave, “Morning!” She called out, before walking over towards her. The two had never really talked before, mainly cause once the day officially started it was hard to get down time to just chit chat. “Nice day, huh? Makes me wanna have a picnic.” She said with a small laugh.
Beth returned the smile, approaching Sasha. Although she'd never officially had a conversation with the woman, other than the odd exchange of words, she liked her. she had this innocent persona about her. Most of the occupants of the Prison were hard and tough, but Sasha was more human than most. She also happened to be very sweet. Hearing her comment made her laugh a little, with a nod. "Me too. You're on the council - make it happen," she joked with the other girl. It was strange to talk about this. Obviously, the group would never be laid back enough to sit down on the grass with sandwiches and nibbles, but they could always dream.
She observed the only other people outside at this time, Carl and Rick. They always seemed to be doing the same things around this time - seeing to the pigs and bringing up crops from the ground. It reminded her of the times she'd look out her window at the farm and see her dad seeing to everything. It was a nice feeling. She turned back to Sasha. "They always do that," she stated, gesturing for her to peer over at the father and son.

As Glenn ran, his gun held in front of him, he was breathing hard. Yes, he was in shape, but that didn’t mean that running with a full backpack was easy, especially for long distances. Gunshot rang out one after another as he followed behind Beth, making sure to take out the Walkers that were ahead. If anything, he would protect the young blonde. She was his sister-in-law. She was family and her life was more important to him than his own.
Watching as Beth pointed, his eyes glanced in that direction, seeing the lake. It was a long shot, of course. And everything would get soaked, including their clothes, guns, food. But the granola bars he had managed to get from the prison were sealed, and with this heat their clothes would dry quickly. The only issue now was would they make it across? They were both tired from running, and swimming would use up more energy. But it was their only shot.
"I hope you can swim long distances." Glenn called out as they reached the water’s edge, stuffing his gun into the back of his jeans so that both of his hands would be free. Sighing, he moved into the water, his eyes never leaving Beth. If she got tired, he’d let her hold onto him and he’d pull them. There was no way he was leaving her behind. Not after he just found her.
As they stood on the edge of the lake, Beth nodded to Glenn. "I'll be fine," she reassured. She didn't have as many things to carry across as her brother-in-law did. He had a whole bag on his back - she only had a gun and a knife, and the clothes she was wearing.
She went first, with no time to think about what they were about to do. The walkers were fast approaching, and they were low on bullets. Even if they weren't, there was no way that the two of them would be able to take on the amount of un-dead the gunshots had attracted. Beth put one foot forward, wincing at the coldness of the water. She couldn't relish in it, though, so she went fast into the deep end. It wasn't too deep, but it still came right up to her chest. She slowly made her way through it. "It's alright," she shouted to Glenn, nearly reaching the end of the river.
The other side was clear, and this was a relief. Once she touched down on the mud, she collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion, waiting for her sister's husband to join her.

"Ain’t you a little young to be out here on yer own?"
"I don't know. I'm not weak anymore."

She smiled and nodded, “Pleasure to meet you Beth, I’m Luna Forrester.” She moved over to her and extended her hand, “How long have you lived here? Seems like you have all been here a while.” Luna always like to gauge how long she could stay in a place before it all went to hell.
"This is a pretty tight ship you guys got."
Beth's hand met with Luna's, shaking it softly. "We've been buildin' it up," she responded, speaking proudly of the place her and her group have been making up to be their permanent home. "It's not as nice as my old house, but it's safe."
She pulled her hand away, looking over to the other girl's belongings. "That all ya' got?" She asked, curiously.
"Just trying to be polite, miss. Are you alone or are there others with you?"
"I'm.. alone. Didn't used to be, but I am now."
