Aarti Jadu is a singer-songwriter influenced by Jazz, Creole beats, RnB/Soul, Folk and Indian music. With only her poetry in mind, she writes music unattached to conventional songwriting and allows this asset to rule the creation. She hopes to be affiliated with artists that are contemporary and not bound by a genre. Aarti is currently playing her music solo and with her newly formed 5 piece band, 'Aarti and the Cosmic Buffalo'.

Ezekiel Sneezed is a Brunswick-based alt. folk duo turned four-piece, which melds haunting vocal harmonies, intricate acoustic guitar and orchestral inflections in each bittersweet journey. With their new line-up they’re looking to spread their wings and revel in Melbourne’s most intimate venues.

Clive Mann is a local lad who writes songs and who grew up on the south side of the river in St. Kilda. After having watched his formative stomping ground be culturally guttered by the process of gentrification, he understands the importance of maintaining existing inner north cultural precincts such as Brunswick . He has also just released his first solo single "How to Ride a Pony".

Melbourne outfit 19th Century Strongmen are not unlike their namesake: hard working, well developed, and sure to turn a few heads in the front bar. With a self-confessed pop tragic at the helm, they pen bittersweet lyrics of the kind you find yourself humming throughout the day or belting into the night at 3am. Their EP titled 'Let's Go' was released in January and is available on Bandcamp.

Currently I'm visiting Melbourne from Perth to spread my stories and music to anyone interested . I'm sitting on a new record back home which I will be releasing in the near future. Ever since I first came to Melbourne back in 2013, I've always loved the beautiful, creative energy that brunswick so carelessly radiates. I feel very grateful that I can be a part of the music scene here and always will be.

Mon Shelford is a soul-folk singer/songwriter based in Brunswick, Melbourne. Mon performs regularly in Victoria and is currently working on her first EP. It was out of her parents’ great insight, or perhaps sheer desperation to get some peace and quiet when at age 7, Monique Shelford was enrolled in private vocal tuition. Anyone who knows Mon however, can vouch that quietening down was not on her agenda. Originally beginning her training in the classical style, Mon was leaning towards the operatic industry, until she began to attend a Catholic girls' high school. This was where she discovered the power of gospel music. These two strong and soulful influences have mashed together in a rich and powerful mixture. For almost two decades, Mon’s vocal talents have soared to something truly extraordinary. Now armed with an acoustic guitar and a colourful, intriguing past, she is ready to take audiences on some of her own adventures and share with them.

James Fahy Brunswick is known for its astonishing diversity. James Fahy is a folk player with a soul voice, born in Canada and raised by an Englishman in Australia, fond of Indian classical music and mid-century jazz, and he just learned the theme song from Super Mario 2. James and Brunswick belong together. James is recording a new album, hosting a live talk show called Wait Long By The River, and trying to learn how to live with a cat. He'd like to see Brunswick's art made famous around the world, its streets made safer for women and cyclists, and its people made into a supportive, inclusive community. Catch James any time for a chat about all of the above, except perhaps while he's mid-song.

Peny Bohan delivers Urban Folk music that will make you want to stay, buy her a drink and wrap yourself up in her melodies. After moving to Brunswick 8 years ago, Peny soon fell in love with the neighbourhood. The venues were very welcoming and the locals were friendly. From busking to teaching after school music and working in a local cafe she soon felt herself part of the furniture. Many a song have been inspired by her times with friends having tea in the park or the garden. Having just finished recording her new EP, Peny is looking forward to debuting it in the local area sometime soon.

The Most Comprehensive And Democratic Map Of Brunswick Ever Constructed.

A large scale map will be relocated to the street party warehouse after having spent two weeks on display at Brunswick Arts Space. Annotated according to the most important landmarks of every participant, for example: bountiful fruit trees, romantic conquests, colourful characters, etc. Materials supplied, BYO local knowledge.
