I have a genuine question. I know I hate the idea of two people with a huge age gap dating, especially if one of them is only like 18-20. But what about hookups? Like is it the same level of ick? If both are aware it’s just a one night stand or casual or whatever.

I am aware that our actions are fueled by anxiety and we are lashing out/“overreacting” to a situation because of it. Can we be done now?’ And the other part of my brain is like ‘mm no’

I call it I-thought-everybody-did-that syndrome. It is an occurring phenomenon I have noticed in all the lgbtqia+ folks I have ever encountered (aka me and the entire internet) in which you will be discussing something vaguely *looks over shoulder* *whispers* GAY. And it typically ends with something along the lines of “...you know?” And then a puzzling look from the straight representative. And a “.....no...” and then a realization that oh! This is a gay thing! Followed by a “......I thought everyone did that...”
