Josh Washington: The Psycho

Thank you @antihuntress for letting me use your mod again! I'm so grateful! Truly! You do such mazing works!

Anyway, I'll just say this: Josh Washington deserved better.

Yes, he was totally in the wrong for the "prank". But also, he had a very good reason.

He did choose the wrong victims for it, but also? In reality HE WAS punishing himself. He CHOOSED Sam and Chris BECAUSE they were the one who loved him, and him hurting them meant hurting himself. It was him pushing them away so that he could make his worst fear true: isolation.

I'm glad in the remake they now give us the choice to "save" him. But in the end he still succeeded in punishing himself. He still ended up alone.

And god, they're all complex characters, but him? He's special. He suffered from mental illness for YEARS, and he was having a psychotic breakdown. He was in such a horrible mental state for the better part of a year. He's as much of a perpetrator as he is of a victim.

His parents failed him, the system failed him, and this is the result.

The game itself doesn't paint him as the biggest villain. He's just there, broken for everyone to see.

An Until Dawn Poster!

Thanks to the amazing @antihuntress for letting me use one of her mods for this design! They're incredible talented. You can find their mod here.

Now, I find kinda hilarious me using this image for the poster when "every decision matter and can change everything". Cause, nope, THIS ONE IMAGE IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN. But it COULD HAVE happened if they included an ending where we see Josh actually get out of the fucking mines. But oh well.

(it's also insane that I made a poster for a game I didn't get to play yet. BUT DON'T WORRY, I'M FIXING IT. I just bought it. Unfortunately, I only have a PS5, so I can't use mods. I'm grieving, cause fuck, i REALLY wanted to use that ONE mod you can find for josh's hair.)

ANYWAY. Hope you enjoy this very deceiving poster featuring two of my favorite characters of this franchise. Their relationship is truly a tragic complex bond. I wonder if Sam is haunted by him. And not by The Psycho and his revenge, but by Josh, her friend who was so truly alone. The friend she feels she failed to help. The Josh who was crying and begging for the voices to stop. I guess we'll never know.

(unless, of course, Sam somehow appears in until dawn 2. The fact the we see josh's therapist TALKING TO HER? Damn. Dude. Is she hallucinating him too? I can't wait for this game. I NEED to know if she's in there)
