Let me just say that IBS counts as a chronic illness? There’s people out there making IBSers feel like they don’t belong? Reblog if you think IBS is a valid chronic illness please!

You shouldn’t let your illness define you…
Every healthy person who has felt inconvenienced by our illnesses. (via stynalane)
One of the hardest things to accept about being chronically ill is that I can’t just do what I want like other people my age. I have to worry about my health first and foremost.
Do any of you guys have a life threatening auto immune disease like I do? I’m just curious to know you guys better. I’ve come to terms with what I have because it’s manageable and I’ve been diagnosed/receiving treatment for like 6 years. I have a rare disease that is essentially the opposite of hemophilia. My blood clots too much. I’m on blood thinners and have to go to the hospital once a month to get monitored. I had a blood clot in my lung when I was 17, which is how we found out there’s something wrong with my blood. I was so lucky because it stayed lodged in my lung for months, and didn’t move to my heart or brain. So yeah, what’s up with you guys?
I'm an APS baby here as well. I'm still working on learning my new me and pushing what I can and can't do. I want to grt back into soccer but due to the Coumadin my family and doctors advise against it but is the only thing that makes me feel whole again. I had my clot at 21 and my diagnosis 5 months later. At 23 we are still searching for what all other thing are wrong.
Study on the prevalence of fibromyalgia in antiphospholipid syndrome patients.
(Atiphospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disease that causes increased clotting and can lead to seizures or stroke-like episodes. It was also seen in some chronic fatigue syndrome patients.)
Is there anyone on tumblr
fighting APS? Looking for support….only 1% of Americans and Brits have this disease….one of you have got to be on tumblr, right? :/
I was diagnosed after my 22nd birthday with APS and am now just looking for an outlet. For others that will understand. Feel free to share your stories. Make us strong.
