"...what are you doing here?"
"Oh, you’ll do just fine- you always do."
"Thank you. I'm glad I have you to support me."
Yes, the doctor for the light witches.
I never said you are sick. I was saying how I think it would be wise to see the doctor. Isn’t it better to be safe than sorry?
"Oh, right. Naomi and Logan."
"I'm fine. Logan's hasn't seen anything wrong with me. So I'm fine."
… Have you visited the Light doctor lately?
I believe there may be a virus spreading around Hillsboro, and I don’t want you to fall ill. I could join you, if you wished. We can receive a check-up together.
"Light doctor?"
"No, I'm not sick, you're just not making sense!"
Then… what are your powers, exactly?
"I just told you. I talk to ghosts..."
"...right?"
Yes, your powers. Did you forget about them?
"Forget... No, I didn't. I didn't. I talk to ghosts. I mean, not lately. But, no, I didn't forget. I'm a witch..."
Are your powers…
… defunct?
"My... powers?"
Aurora… I sense a storm behind your eyes.
Would you like to discuss anything in particular?
"No. No, there's nothing wrong..."
"Not that I can remember... anyway."
Aurora… deep breaths.
Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience, for she does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
"Right. Right, deep breaths."
"That'll jog my memory... it always does..."
Are you sure?
Has something been distracting you from your studies? Or is it just cramming for mid-terms?
"...midterms?"
"Oh, god! I forgot about midterms!"
Has something happened, Aurora?
Are you okay?
"Yes, everything's fine."
"I'm just struggling to keep up with the lessons is all."
What are you afraid of? You’re a smart cookie — I’m positive you got good grades. ♪
"I'm not sure I did... this semester I have somehow fallen so far behind..."
"I still haven't opened my report card..."
Your smile puts these Hillsboro gardens to shame... And your eyes to the stars do just the same.

Holden grinned when Aurora said high to him, and he ran to her like light. He was across the room, next to her in half a second, and he titled his head, “How are you, my dear?” He knew she was probably feeling super bad, from all the blood loss, but that was for the best, it really was. Holden was gaining so much power, and it was all because of the blood bag right in front of him; he loved it.
He bent down to press his lips softly against hers, and he grinned into the kiss, his head swimming- he was thirsty, but he’d give a little time to just relax, and he’d feed later. He will feed later.
"I’ve missed you," he whispered so quietly, as he bent his head down to brush his lips against her neck; was he saying that to her, or to her beautiful jugular vein, the world may never know. He pressed soft kisses to her flesh, and then went back to her pale lips.
"You look-" like death, "Beautiful."
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Aurora shifted nervously, biting her lip. Should she tell him the truth? That he was killing her? He would have to understand; he loved her. But he loved her blood, too. Her head swarmed with the various scenarios that lay ahead, making her dizzier than she already was.
Her lips were stiff against the kiss, but it made sparks ignite inside of her. A small smile spread onto her face as he whispered to her, butterflies catching on fire in her stomach.
She missed him, too. It had been three days since they last saw each other.
His kisses lingered around the wounds on her neck, and she shivered. He still thought she looked beautiful, though, which was a good thing. She wanted to be beautiful for him.
"Thank y "
She cut herself off with a coughing fit.

Holden grinned as he walked slowly towards Auroras house. She had Invited him over for the night, and Holden was in no position to say no. He loved it when he was over at Auroras’, she let him feed on her to “strengthen their connection”. It was cute, to see how wrapped up she was in this sick little fantasy. He couldn’t deny that there were only two reasons he was with her.
One, he loved her, but two, he wanted her power. Holden had noticed over the course of him feeding from her that she’d been getting pretty weak, while the total opposite was happening to Holden. He’d been getting stronger, quicker- powerful, and it was all because of Aurora.
So when he got to her house, he slipped right inside without drawing any attention from anything. Then just as sneaky, he went to her room and opened the door, slipping inside to see the blonde girl.
"Surprise, my darling," Holden’s smile gleamed in the soft bedroom lighting. Oh, was he hungry.
Buried in her blankets, Aurora yawned and squirmed around, stretching, trying to force herself to get out of bed. She had taken two naps today, not to mention she had slept for twelve hours the previous night. She had no energy anymore, as opposed to before, when the voices and anxiety kept her up for hours on end. Ever since Holden began feeding off her on a regular basis, she hadn't felt anything but tired, and hadn't spoken to a single spirit. She could hear them faintly, but she could not see them, and she could not talk back. He was making her weak, but it wouldn't last long. They just had to take a break, then her power and energy would come back for sure.
But how was she supposed to propose that?
When her door creaked open, she was suddenly full of adrenaline and she popped up, expecting to see Logan and preparing herself to lie about how no, she wasn't sleeping again, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was Holden. Her lips instinctively pulled back into a smile, her cheeks sore, and she ran a hand through her hair.
She forgot he was coming over.
"Hi," she breathed, pushing the blankets down, only covering her lower half. She never slept in pajama pants, just big tee-shirts and boyshorts, and she hadn't gotten to get dressed before Holden came! How embarrassing; now she wasn't going to be able to remove the blanket. Her cheeks flushed at this realization.
