‘Rey,’ Finn says. ‘Use mind control to make him give them back.’ He’s dragging on Poe’s jacket. Poe’s trying to peel his hands off and look stern, but Finn’s grinning at him, all warmth, and Poe’s head is increasingly fuzzy.

‘You’re asking me to abuse my power?’ says Rey. ‘Okay then.’ She screws up her eyes. ‘Sorry, can’t. Too high.’

Poe’s world goes sideways as all five foot nine of Finn barrels into his legs. Poe’s face smushes into Finn’s chest as they hit the floor. He smells like engine oil, like those Krantian pine needles –

‘Now kiss,’ says Rose.
