Fic writers who have 43,000 reasons why they can never read anyone else's work but then get pouty if you don't read theirs. Even better in they're BNFs who can't be bothered and then step all over other writers toes and want to tell you all about how inspired they felt when they pretty much just ripped off a meme from tumblr.

I hate hate HATE that smut fics get all the attention. Yes I do write smut, but I also write character studies and fluff and gen fics, and none of them get the attention that nsfw smut does. It's so frustrating!

i really wish people would show appreciation for individual fic writers. as in, if you read multiple fics by one writer that you really love, it can take just a second to send them ONE kind message on tumblr/twitter/curiouscat. you don't need to be absolutely in love with every single piece a writer puts out in order to show appreciation for their work. i know plenty of readers who tweet about my fics all the time, but my twitter/tumblr mentions are always radio silent...

It seems like on many online writing platform, if you write an original story that isn't based on a movie/tv show/ book it will instantly be ignored. I see fan fiction with no plot and content that is nothing more than sexual climbing the ranks on every site when many other writers, including me, have poured our hearts out to create uniberses and characters and we go completely unrecognized for our efforts. I have nothing against fanfic writers but it hurts to see my hard work ignored.

honestly? i hate it when i see posts and tweets like "UGH why aren't there ANY good [x] fics!!!! at LEAST 80k and slow burn and well written blah blah." it makes me wonder whether these readers 1. support the fics they read 2. read more than, say, two writers 3. are willing to reads WIPs...? because WIPS need love, too, you know. you can't expect writers to magically complete fics with absolutely zero feedback. it makes me not want to write when i see how entitled some fic writers can be tbh.

It kills me on the inside when people make fun of people’s writing in general or when it’s based on something they don’t know just because it’s cringe-y to them. Like- why do you care if it’s nothing something you like?? Like for what reason do you have to be a huge ass to other people’s writing?? For what?? Like people put time and passion into their shit; it’s not funny or cool to shit on it even for shitty ass jokes.

I am a writer and i just wanna say the one thing that annoys me about writing fanfic is I don't get a lot of good ideas, so i don't post a lot, like the last time i had an idea for my WIP was 8 months ago and even then the idea was just a line of dialogue

I just wanna say i hate when i start to read a fanfic and they seem to post one or two chapters a day and it takes you some time to read it all and finally you do and they uploaded the most recent chapter today so you think "Ok tomorrow i'll have a new chapter to read" so you check tomorrow and nothing,so you think "Okay that's fine, they don't need to post everyday, i can't wait until he posts again" but it turns out he drops off the face of the earth and never uploads again
