Mac & Maureen: Unspoken in “Caregiver”
I know that you know that I know something … but question me in front of them. I dare you.
Headcanon: Just Mac [ for belfastashby ]
The first time Trinity calls him “Da” with any sort of consciousness as to what she is saying, she is two years old. Mo is out making the deposits; Mac is stocking shelves for once, and Triny is talking a mile a minute because “Aun’ Fi is gonna have a baby, and I am so ‘cited, Da …”

Mo/mac
Send me a ship & I’ll tell you:
Who was the one to propose: Mac
Who stressed more over wedding planning: Fiona, let’s be honest. Maureen was just like “whatever goes,” and then she went and got a SAMBEL tattoo instead of trying on wedding dresses. Fiona almost strangled her.
Who decorated the house: Mo.
Who does the cooking: Maureen. Mac doesn’t expect her to, though. He never does.
Who is more organized: Both are pretty organized, but Mac is more so. Maureen tends to get disorganized when she’s stressed or going through withdrawal, because she tries to work through it.
Who initiates bedroom fun: Maureen.
Who suggested kids first: They never planned to have kids after Trinity was born. Maureen got pregnant and miscarried. Mac suggested they try again. Maureen didn’t take him seriously at first, but she eventually agreed — hesitantly. Aidan was born nine months later.
Who’s more dominant: Either can be when the situation calls for it. You don’t want to piss either of them off. But when Mac takes his “club tone” with Maureen, she bites back. She also knows what to say to get him to soften up. More often than not, she is genuine about it, and he caves.
Who’s the cuddler: Maureen. She isn’t a cuddler so much as she appreciates Mac’s presence, his touch. They do tend to get cozy right before a run, and many of the boys roll their eyes. Seamus and Liam know better.
Who’s the big spoon/little spoon:.Mac/Maureen
What’s their favorite non-sexual activity: Truthfully? Mac enjoys helping Maureen stock shelves in her store. But then other times, he doesn’t even bother. Because “Enjoying the show, love? Are you really going to just stand there and watch me do all the work?” This usually turns into a one-way trip to Maureen’s office. And then there is sex.
Who comes home is drunk at 3am: Maureen.
Who kills the spiders: Maureen. On the off chance that they have mice, Mac has to get rid of the used traps/poison. He ends up buying Maureen a cat after her screams over a dead mouse scare him into thinking she is seriously hurt.
Who falls asleep first: Maureen. Whether from sleep or the drink, and Mac carries her to bed.
A head canon: That is too good not to share. Trinity has caught Mac and Maureen shagging in Mo’s office on more than one occasion. With that in mind, let us also consider who else may have used that office in verse, shall we? *evil giggle*
Their relationship summed up in gif(s):
Do they have any “rituals”? Maureen tries to leave the kettle on for Mac so that they can have a cup of tea before bed or whenever Mac comes in. When it’s cold out and he’s staying late at the clubhouse, she’ll take him a thermos of cocoa. Prospects have questioned these things, and Mo has eyed them very hard. She does it for no one else - not even Seamus. In other words, if you aren’t Mac - “We have a fully-stocked bar. Get your own tea.”
Who is louder? Maureen
Who is more experimental? Neither.
Who takes more risks? Neither.
Do they fuck or make love? Most of the time they make love. But in that office — what are you thinking exactly?
Lights on or off? Off.
Who is more likely to be caught masturbating? Maureen, maybe.
Who is more likely to suggest a threesome? Neither.
Who comes first? Maureen.
Who is better at oral and who prefers it? Maureen is better at it, and she enjoys it. On special occasions.
Who is more submissive? Mac.
Who usually initiates things? Maureen.
Who is more sensitive? Mac.
Who has the most patience? Mac.
