DAMN A LOT OF YOU LIKES AVATAR X HUMAN READER
like ME TOO TWIN
But I’m struggling to figure out what about humans would be interesting to Navi
So if you know a fun human fact I can use for the next post(update? Chapter?) pls TELL ME
Sky people are weird
Imagine trying to explain things that are purely human to na’vi. So for the sake of it let's say you are the daughter of one of the scientists that are with the omaticaya clan. Not specifically norm but someone that has passed. You are the same age as Neteyam, so about a year older than lo’ak and the others from the Metkayina clan.
Warning: reader being able to tan in the sun
You were sent to stay here for Kiri's health after her seizure but in fear of disturbing the people of the reef you had a little miniature lab built for you on the other side of the beach which meant you were out of sight but not out of reach for Kiri.
But all the Sully’s made it a habit to hang out around you anyway since they had missed you for the first 2 weeks they spent without you. So everyday you would wake up and eat your breakfast to chill until early afternoon when all the siblings would come in for Kiri’s check up and then hang out with you for the rest of the day.
That brings us to right now after Kiri’s scan. You were looking over the holoscreen in your hand as you walked out with Kiri to her siblings. “Yep all of this looks completely normal but I still don’t want you to connect with eywa under water. I'm really sorry but I don't want you to take that risk”
Kiri looked at you with a disheartened but understanding look in her eyes. “It alright, its not as if there is anything you can do , I just wished that you could see what went wrong that made me have a seizure”
Neteyam walked up to your little labhome as Kiri walked down the few shorts steps down from your door. "Don't be so distraught over it, lil sis. What matters is that you are safe now.” She looked up at her brother with a quick ‘I know’ before she walked over to Tuk and Lo’ak that were sitting in the shallow waters.
“Thank you again Y/N” Neteyam says to you almost eye to eye since you were standing on top of your steps but he still had to look down at you. “Oh shut it, I don't need to be thanked for this- AND” you hold up a finger to his face as you put your holotablet down inside your home “before you go on a rant about how much you appreciate me and how selfless and cool and beautiful I am- Let’s just join the others”.
You jumped down the steps and walked off to the water where the others were sitting. Behind you hear Neteyam say “OH- you little skxawng!” He ruffled your hair before walking next to you (by slowing the hell out of his steps) and as you got closer to the other three siblings you could hear them laugh about something. You were in swim wear so you stepped freely into the water and stood next to them as they were practically your height when sitting.
“Y/N!” Tuk said as she walked over to you “Today we were diving and there were these pretty jelly fish and they were HUGE and glowing! But Lo’ak was being stupid and swam so close one of them tried to kiss him!”
You looked at her in confusion before stopping yourself from laughing then you turned to Lo’ak “You did what with a jelly fish?!” He jumped up on his knees in the water and put his hands up in defence “Hey! Woah! It tried to kill me, not KISS me?!” Then Neteyam jumped in by slinging his arm around his brother. “Are you sure? She seemed pretty keen to have another date.” The smiling through his words was so evident that Lo’ak pushed him back into the water “Shut up, you loser!”. But before they could start wrestling in the water you stopped them.
“Okay you two can beat each other up in a second but first let me see your head where it grabbed on.” Since Lo’ak was still on his knees you pushed him down by his shoulders so you could grab his face and turn it around. For his actual face there didn’t seem to be any injury but it did on the back of his head where the tentacles had grabbed onto, or more less of an injury and more of irritated skin from the force that made Lo’ak flinch when you touched it.
“Okay nothing too serious but I do have a salve that will make the irritation go down” You kept turning his head to make sure you didn’t miss anything by moving his hair around and checking in between braids. This however made you miss the evident burn that was creeping up on Lo’ak’s face.
Then Tuk shouted “Hey guys!” and when you turned to look at her you saw how she, Kiri and Neteyam were waving at someone. So you turned around and looked behind Lo’ak to see the three other Na’vi kids the Sully’s have been hanging around: Tsireya, Aonung and Roxto. Not really that you knew who was who but it was easy to at least figure out who Tsireya was.
The girl in question swam over to you guys with a warm “hey everyone, hope we are intruding” she said as she turned to you. Which honestly surprised you a little bit that she thought of this part of the beach yours. But you responded with a hurried “Oh no of course not! It's your home, I'm just a guest, come whenever you want” but for the third time today your conversation was cut off by something else, more specifically the looks you were given by the two boys behind Tsireya.
“Why are you two staring at her like that?” Neteyam asked them, not in an angry or confused way but more so as if he expected it. Because this clan had never seen a human without gear before (the exception being your mask) and definitely not someone that is their age so of course they would have questions.
“No reason, I just thought you tree swingers would be the weakest swimmers I would ever see” The boy with braids in a bun leaned down to get a better look at you. “Are all human this pathetic looking? At least the others with you before were the height of us but look at you. Not even the size of Tuk”
You stared at him deadpan. “I assume you are Aonung?”
“One and only”
Tsireya put her hand on her brother's shoulder. “Im so sorry, he is blunt one”
But you wave it off “I don't mind and for your information I am average height for a human girl my age but I can't say the same for you, aren't you supposed to be a little taller?” You smirk at him.
Lo’ak screamed from behind you in the water “OOOOOOOOHHH!!” before laughing his ass off. That seemed to have ticked him off way more than whatever you said before because he immediately ran for Lo’ak like Neteyam had before.
Then Roxto spoke “I swear you weren’t this shade before- do sky people shed skin?” His question stumped you a bit before you looked down at your arms and legs to realize that he was talking about your tan. “OH no no no! humans dont shed skin but my skin does protect me form the heat of the sun here by producing more melanin hence making me more tan the usual, here look.” You say as you take your swim tank and move the shoulder strap a bit so he could see the part of you that was mostly untouched by the sun.
“Do ALL sky people do that?”
“More or less yes”
“Does your skin do other things too?”
“Well it doesn’t do other things but human skin does have stripes like Na’vi do it’s just that our eyes can't see it”
That stopped everyone including Lo’ak and Aonung that were duking it out in the water. “Since when do you have stripes?” Kiri asked.
“Since always, but they are really hard to see since they blend in with the rest of my skin so well that our eyes can only see it if I took a scan of my cell pattern.”
Tsireya then swam beside you and sat down in the circle that was forming “That’s amazing! What else do you humans do I am not aware of?”
“Well there is a lot you have to be a little bit more descriptive in what you want."
