My desire and longing to be out with the stars is almost unbearable. Call it a lost moment, a moment in time where the conditions are just so that the atoms in my body come alive and remind me of what they were, a being created from the atoms living in the center of a dying star, or traveling on a lone meteor for centuries in the vacuous, dark corners of space, until that moment it found it’s own place in the universe and its purpose, after being alone for so long, to help create you and I. Seeing these photos of home, wake my soul, and remind me I am a created from something that is far greater than I. The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be in our lives. “Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us – there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height.” I am awake, and the universe is calling me home.

The Real Abandoned Overlook Hotel

Unlike the fictional Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, this hotel is really named the Overlook. The abandoned hotel is located in the small, wine growing town of Bernkastel-Kues in Germany. Aside from the fact that it has been unoccupied for about 13 years, there is no information as to why the hotel was closed. All of the furniture remains and it looks as if everyone there simply left. There are rumors that the hotel is haunted. According to urban explorers who frequent the spooky site, cameras malfunction, sounds can be heard throughout the premises and items seem to move around the hotel by themselves.
