Happy Black Heritage Month!

I wrote this poem as a free-write a couple of years ago in a response to a social media campaign called #BlackOut. I ended up completing and putting the poem on my first project. I was exploring the idea of us folks of color being the very GODS that return as thieves in the night. Across nations, humans of a darker hue are overwhelmingly feared but are those in the rest of world honest with its placement of fear on us?

I am so proud and inspired by my pioneering friends and those who continue to thrive during a time of hurt on earth. Let’s continue to forge paths by continuing to gather and build upon utopias yet to be. Keep in mind that even just three of us to one room is beautifully dangerous as f*ck!

Thank you mostly to my community that danced, made music, discussed, and simply sat in this room to bring my words to life.
