i really dont understand why some people actually think atlantis was a real place. like mf it was written by Plato as a thought experiment and as a way to state that power in the hands or mortals is guaranteed to corrupt, its not some mythical faraway land hidden deep in Poseidon's watery grasp waiting for some lucky fuck to stumble across it, it's just a fucking book. looking for atlantis makes about as much sense as looking for The Cave or The Republic. like maybe if you were some dirt farmer from the dead center of the holy roman empire and havent even heard about this bizarre "ocean" thing maybe but there's no fucking reason to believe its out there somewhere in the modern day. if you want a fucking lost continent look at like fucking doggerland or someshit i dont fucking care just shut the fuck up about atlantis before i cast you off into the ocean to see if you can fucking find it yourself.
