Honestly just call me Jack | Asexual/Biromantic | Lightweaver | he/him unless you have special permission | I don’t curate my blog for anyone but myself, so chill here at your own risk | walking encyclopedia for all things Fence 💜 Icon by Kintheartist
Heads up to any Fence followers, I’m going on a sort-of hiatus. I’ll still be posting, but less regularly. Or I’ll be taking a break until I can post regularly again. Or a combo of both who knows
It makes me sad to be breaking my schedule, but work has spiraled me into a husk of a person with mental health at scary lows, and I just keep getting frustrated with myself for not being able to maintain the regularity and level of interaction I used to be able to and want to get to again, so I’m hoping giving myself some buffer time will help recover that.
So. Expect sporadic posting and a month hiatus on Bittersweet probably. But I’ll be back on my bullshit soon enough and hope you’ll all be there with me 💜🤺💜
Since I’ve started drawing Cosmere characters, in my own artworks I noticed two things 1) their uniform designs are different every fucking time 2) Rlain’s carapace looks different every fucking time.
I think I have a problem with decisions.
Every time I’m working on art I think about how cool it would be to make a full research, a ref board, elaborate the complicated design for each character as accurate as possible, but every time it ends with “it’s just a quick sketch, not detailed, just recognisable”

There are currently THREE FEDERAL BOOK BAN BILLS aiming to ban all TRANS BOOKS from U.S. public schools! HR 2616, HR 8705, HR 7661
June 2026 / Maia Kobabe (a trans author, for three years in a row the most challenged author in the U.S.)
Page 2:
HR 2616 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools if they “teach or advance concepts related to gender ideology,” as defined by an Executive Order signed by Trump in Jan 2025. It would also cut funding from schools unless they require “parental consent before changing a minor's gender markers, pronouns, or preferred name on any school form.” HR 2616 HAS ALREADY PASSED IN THE HOUSE! Please call your Senators to say NO ON HR 2616!
Page 3:
HR 8705 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which teach “discriminatory equity ideology or gender ideology,” as defined by two Executive Orders aimed at suppressing “critical race theory” and trans representation. This bill is named after the late far-right activist Charlie Kirk, “The Charlie Act.” HR 8705 has passed out of committee, but has not yet been introduced in the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 8705!

HR 7661 threatens to cut federal funding from public schools which offer material deemed “sexually oriented," treating any LGBTQIA+ identity as sexual content. It specifically forbids “gender dysphoria or transgenderism,” and “lascivious dancing” (drag). This bill, titled “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act,” has 22 co-sponsors and has passed out of committee but has not yet been introduced to the House. Please call your House Reps to say NO ON HR 7661!

I oppose HR 2616 because it would restrict student’s access to books and it would specifically harm trans, nonbinary, and intersex students. Please stand against book bans and protect queer students!”

I oppose these bills because they would restrict student’s access to books and accurate history, and would especially harm BIPOC, trans, nonbinary, and intersex students. Please stand against book bans and support public education funding!”

Author Maia Kobabe: If HR 2616, HR 8705, or HR 7661 pass, it would be almost impossible for any public school in the U.S. to offer or teach my books, unless they’re willing to risk their federal funding. Students would be even less likely to learn about trans stories or accurate U.S. history.

Aaaaaaaa!!! I love this so much!!!! It is literally the best feeling in the world to inspire art with my stories—I’m so happy TWFB made you want to draw, and thank you so much for sharing!! Literally obsessed with this album cover—I should have just had you design it for the fic lmao 😜 the vibes are immaculate ugh I loveeeee the coloring and shading on Nick’s face, it just looks so badass! His expression is perfect too and so is his hair! The little touches of blue highlights just perfects the whole thing! Then the sunglasses with the one lens showing Seiji is so pretty. The sunglasses are so rockstar and I just imagine Seiji sitting at the piano in that glimpse of him. Pulse him being rendered in blue is *chefs kiss* AND THE VINES!!! I love the drama of them and how they’re sneaking in on Nick in a way you don’t see at first while Seiji’s very clearly framed in them,,, ugh the visual metaphors here it’s like you Understand the whole theme of the fic already jskfja I hope you’ll let me link this in the fic!
Hi Vince! For the fic rec game, how about 12, 14 and 15? Hope you’re doing well :D
hi hii!! thank u sm for the ask and i'm so sorry it took so long (i was struggling to pick out the fics to use T-T)
12. Recommend a fic that formed or changed your opinion on something (characterization, backstory, relationship, etc.):
A Gentle Task by apollospec - The Aurora Cycle, Kal/Tyler
god ok this fic literally changed my brain chemistry, i cannot lie. in my mind this is exactly what happened post canon. I honestly just love the way tyler and kal's dynamic is written coz it just feels so true to the characters (also!! auri is really well written here too!! she's probably my least fav mc ever (not that i hate her or anything) and i actually rlly like her here!!)
14. Recommend your favorite fic:
Promised Things by Applesandbananas747 - Fence (Webcomic), Nick/Seiji
fav fic. hands down no notes. the concept is literally peak, the writing is beautiful, and its gloriously long and entertaining. this was my first ever longfic and i still go back and read it when i need a pick me up. (AND!! apples has a sister fic that follows eugesse thru the same timeline that's also freaking amazing)
15. Recommend any fic of your choice:
FOOLS by @whistlebrox - Jujutsu Kaisen, Itafushi
!!PLEASE HEAD THE WARNINGS/TAGS ON THIS ONE!! whistle's one of my fav ppl and honestly this fic needs more love. i'm so obsessed w this au and it's so well written...guhhh i can't wait for the next chap...
I think as a fandom we do not give Nicholas Cox enough financial literacy. He is poor, yes. He is unused to luxury, yes. But when you’re so focused on the cost of things and having to budget, you develop: financial literacy. Nicholas knows taxes. Nicholas has worked jobs. Nicholas has formulas for budgeting. Nicholas pays rent on time. Nicholas knows how much milk costs at any moment. Nicholas knows the difference between good bread and bad bread. Nicholas knows how to fix pipes with a wrench, some scrap metal, some screws, and a rusty screwdriver he found on the side of the road. It was the only way he could help keep his mother afloat. He would be financially literate.
