Final Thoughts, and Spoiler Warning too I guess, this season is weeks old already oops!
I was gonna start this off with like, a full run through of Mending a Light Lantern.
Sadly, my phone cut out the recording :/.
And Tumblr doesn’t allow a 15 minute video- OOPS!
First up, they have a selection screen for each device! After looking up what this means on the wiki…
…I can’t find anything, huh. My guess was like, only that one device is available? I’ll have to go back and play around with that more (more on that in the end)
The Lanterns have 3 phases. Phase 1 shows you where all the fragments are, Phase 2 is like, impossibly difficult! And I mean it, 7 of those 15 minutes was me and someone else looking around during phase 2!
Then Phase 3 is somehow the 2nd easiest lol.
I had a group of 5 starting, and the just me and the other Skykid posing here at the end.
I was surprised to have people at the end, cause during the Season I don’t remember a lot of people staying till the end.
Last thing about the video is I wanted to see how many candles I would get by the end of it. I started with 1380 and ended with 1384, with the first chevron nearly depleted.
I did miss some fragments and definitely some candle clusters so I think it would’ve fully gone down one chevron.
Alrighty onto the Season itself.
Located on the first floor of The Vault of Knowledge, Season of Light Mending would mark Sky’s 2nd season with the new “a quest per week” system thingy.
Each week they would have a spirit show you how to use the devices to then Light Mending broken lanterns, something we learned about in Season of Remembrance, lore wise.
Quest wise, I’ll admit this was a difficult one to make these posts about. In Season of Migration I did it 1 question at a time and for this one I combined 3 quests and 1 spirit all together.
While it could look like a nice and neat completed puzzle, it was not my favorite thing in the world to write out. Mostly cause tumblr gets real laggy on my phone, I wonder if there’s a web site I could use(?)
Onto the impact it had in the world of Sky, ehhhh, not sure.
The Light Mending reminds me of the Music Hall’s daily sheet where you can get a ton of wax for playing that sheet. Question is, at least for me, am I willing to backtrack there.
Since I (sadly) have gotten busy in real life, my Candle Running has turned more into Candle, well like Running but faster.
For me personally, I probably would’ve forgotten the Light Mending exists. Which is a shame cause when it first came out and I saw you get Wax out of it, I wondered if that was going to be an alternative way of doing, like a full candle run. 5 candles is good though I’ll admit, and I bet with practice I could memorize each fragment location. I would like to put that into practice, but I can’t at my current point in life. But I’ll take note of it nonetheless, I do like the idea of incorporating it to a CR.
Now for the negative. And it’s a good one.
One question I always ask is, “How good is this season for a Moth?” Or a new player.
For Season story, I think it makes the most sense for people.
For the quests, since it only requires learning the device and not mending the lantern I’d say that’s good too, giving the player the option to just learn the device and not get lost in the 2nd round.
I ran out of space to show more photos, but EVERY pants this season was Season Pass only.
I will never not stop talking about this, and they must’ve heard cause Days of Bloom, Days of Treasure, Season of Carnival, ALL have banger pants.
But I will not forget. Never.
It’s petty, but it’s my petty so I can be petty as I need be!
Uhh, that’s all I got to say. Talked about each Spirit in their own posts, so yee-haw. Completed the constellation 93% which is code for 100%!
Oh shoot yeah the ultimate rewards, uhh, I have no more space for picture so a part 2 as soon as this gets posted, if it uploads quickly!
