Oh hey, thanks for stopping by! I'm a woman in her mid 30s, from the UK. I've been on tumblr in different guises forever, and before that I haunted sites like LiveJournal, pretty much always writing fic and pining over fictional characters (here's a link to my AO3).

I've got ADHD among other assorted quirks and shitty life experiences, so I fall HARD for things. My current obsession is a band of two (or four, depending) masked men, of whom the frontman writes devastatingly beautiful lyrics that slice deep into your soul. Sleep Token, anyone?

It wasn't until I saw this picture that Vessel's new pauldron reminded me of something:

Spider conch shells and clam shells! (Also spiked nautilus shells.)

I think it is a cool coincidence that his pauldron resembles a sun-bleached spider conch, given the persistent theme of spiders and the deep ocean throughout the discography, but especially in EIA. Something about a spider shell, dragged up from the depths and gilded in jewels and gold, until it barely resembles the bleached shell it really is, much like how EIA reflects Vessel as he looks at his present with rose-tinted glasses before the inevitable recognition of his reality hits.

(me, when I'm onto nothing. (I'm wording this horribly, but you get it.))

what if each album is vessel dying a different way??? sundowning is old age (sundowning is something that happens in dementia when the symptoms get worse as it gets later in the day) , tpwbyt is drowning (obvious reasons) tmbte is a car crash (so many references of a crash, most obviously in granite and euclid) and eia is a fight/slash battle

and then what if sleep is a metaphor for death , and the songs are just vessel’s unhealthy relationship with death
