I don’t want to be soft anymore. I want to be bloody knuckles and glass shards and I want people to be afraid of hurting me.
“She was my only escape from emptiness”

AW TY GUYS I LOVE… I’ll be fine I just love to complain and the woman who called out grates on my nerves RIP……

rain-and-cigarette-smoke:
“Ow! Owowowowowowow, ow!” Rex exclaimed, wrapping an arm around his stomach and bending over, his brown eyes squeezed shut in an attempt to release the pain. He stumbled back, providing her a distance to at least block another punch if need be.
“Okay, okay…” he said in a pinched, strained voice, “I got it. No touching…I won’t do it again, sorry.” After a minute, he straightened up, rubbing his now aching tummy. Rex gave her a slightly more serious expression.
“I really do need you to leave, though. It isn’t safe here for people like you.” He gave a nervous glance to a big pile of rubble a good distance away from them, his eyes wary. “I need you to go…now. Before it–”
Rex didn’t even finish his sentence before the massive pile exploded, flinging debris in every which direction with incredible force and aim, plowing down walls and windows in their wake. Feeling the sudden rush of adrenaline going through his body, Rex instinctively went into defensive mode and pushed the stranger away, narrowly avoiding a flying cement block gunning towards her. He clenched his teeth.
“Agh, why won’t you just stay down?!” he suddenly shouted, glaring angrily at the horrible conglomeration of body horror now in front of them. It was a big, white, wretched thing with a number of mouths opening and closing, snapping sharp teeth in the directions it sensed body heat. Soulless eyes of a gray, mucky color stared at nothing, covering the monstrosity like an infectious pox. It was shapeless, the beast. It had nothing to resemble what it once was, a man.
And, Rex acted as if the atrocious thing was a daily hinderance. He seemed neither repulsed or amazed by its massive size; his frustration was the equivalent of a teenager assessing a difficult homework problem. It was just annoying, nothing more to him.
It roared at him in response, whipping out a flagelle-like arm in his direction, as if to grapple him. Rex gritted his teeth and ducked, laying low on the ground as the substance barely grazed his head. Looking up, he gave the civilian a hard stare.
“Get out of here. Now.”
Tem couldn’t entirely fight the tiny, pleased smirk that poked onto her face. Really, that oughta teach him.
After waving off his apology (and thus giving no assurance she’d accepted it or not), Tem crossed her arms and stepped back to put a little distance between them. She still wasn’t taking him seriously; she only pursed her lips and raised her eyebrows at his warning. ‘ People like you ’ ーwhat made him so special?
Before she was able to properly retortーwhich was really only going to consist of standing there, arms crossed, staring at him emotionlesslyーsome sort of hell broke loose, and then that moron was touching her again.
Whatever insult she was trying to prepare was turned only into curt cry of surprise, and she almost didn’t manage to catch herself as she stumbled off to the side.
She was really going to kill this guy.
It was a little out of place, how unfazed she seemed by all of this. In truth, she was shaking a little, the shock unavoidable, but she was determined not to showcase any sort of over-the-top reaction. Maybe the Yellow Scarves had helped to desensitize her, though a gigantic blubbery monster wasn’t exactly comparable to gang brawls nor did it quite match the type of otherworldly things that seemed to normally be found prowling the streets.
The monster in question seemed to have its sights set entirely on the stranger for now, which, however stupid it was, made it easier for Tem to hold her ground. Rather than retreat, she picked her way back among the new debris, getting herself a little more out of the line of fire.
“No thanks,” She called, settling herself behind some of the structural damage. Though that thing had proven it could easily take down a wall, it still made her feel safer. “I actually really wanted to go this way, so I’ll wait it out.” He seemed more bothered by her than by the creature, so she’d give it a minute to see if he really had it under control.

“Th-thank you?” Tem is hesitant to reciprocate, but finally does after a moment. And then, to further ruin the moment, she crouches over as obnoxiously as possible to rest her chin on top of Miza’s head.

“You know, I don’t really know what it is that draws us together, but whatever it is, I’m really glad. You make me feel really important, and even pretty cool. You really make my life a little brighter, I think. It’d really suck if I’d never gotten to know you.”
erikararara:
“BUT! Maybe that’s not it at all! Maybe the reason you’re not too focused on things is because you’re not meant to hone your skills in on anything. Maybe that is what life gave to you and you can’t do anything about it! Just like life gave me the ability to mend cosplay materials and create jewelry but if I try to cook I’ll burn things up!”
Erika thoroughly believed that each person had the ability to shape their own lives, but the concept of fate and living out of one’s own hands was an interesting one to toy with.
“Maybe… Dota-chin isn’t meant to work in an office job because if he did that, then he wouldn’t be on the streets helping people. That’s why he does things in construction and tiling, because it gives him hours that allow him to traverse the streets with his friends being a Great Hero!
“Ah, what if everything about us is completely out of our control!”
“Well, I don’t mind that,” Tem replied fairly honestly. It sounded sort of like a bad thing, which is the only part that gave her hesitance. If she felt okay about it, then it shouldn’t really matter that it might come off as a shortcoming. She still disagreed overall, though; if Erika spent lots of time practicing cooking and she herself spent lots of time practicing cosplay and jewelry, she was sure they’d both get fairly good eventually, but rather than voice it she simply gave an uncertain shrug.
“I can’t deny that some people just pick things up better than others,” She said, going off of her own thoughts but feeling that it didn’t necessarily detract from her statement. “There is all that stuff about people learning differently, like visual versus hands-on, and like how some people are good with numbers and some are good with, like, reading comprehension and literature.” Tem pursed her lips and then spoke again. “So in short, I guess it’s all just…really fuckin’ complicated.”
Nodding along with Erika’s analyses, Tem draped her forearms over each other and shifted some of her weight onto her elbows. “Do you think he knows that, or it’s just how it naturally plays out?” Even if she didn’t totally agree with that sort of view, that didn’t mean she couldn’t entertain the conversation; it was still interesting. She hummed and chewed lightly on her bottom lip for a second before adding, “‘Everything’ is a bit much. We can’t really control our genes, or our social situations, like what we’re born into and stuff. And unfortunately those sorts of things can really have an affect on what you can do in life; not that I’m saying it completely restrains you, but…well, I don’t want to say it makes anything impossible, I’d really rather agree with you on that one.”
