If Sally had the choice she would have never killed her favorite patient Mary Jenner. For the majority of her time working as a nurse in Crotus Prenn Sally was alone. When she moved to her new home in America she came only with her husband and after he parted from her Sally had to deal with her own solitude. The other nurses didn’t pay much mind to her and, with the exception of an abusive Warden, the other staff barely cared for her own presence. But over time just as Sally began to see their resident catatonic boy like her own child, Mary quickly became her best friend. They were both slow to trust each other, Mary being extremely anxious as was her affliction while Sally had been attacked many times by patients, but after a few shy words Sally would make sure to spend more time with her. Sally told her about the death of her husband while Mary spoke of her abusive step parents and together the two women slowly began to work out there own personal troubles.

However the dark truth of Crotus Prenn stopped the asylum from being the restorative place it should have been. While Sally was being abused by Spencer the Crotus Prenn doctors tormented Mary with there sick forms of therapy, and neither had the power to help the other out of their horrible situation. Once the two had attempted to escape their prison that was the asylum only to be stopped by Spencer himself. It was only days later that the whispers convinced Sally to purge the asylum of it’s maddening influence, and that night Marry was the last one she killed. With how much they had shared with each other and been through together Marry could practically be her third sister. But it had to be done, they all had to die, and with tears in her eyes Sally took her best friends life. It’s a mystery what would have happened if they weren’t close, perhaps the matron wouldn’t have been so stunned after Mary’s death and would have finished herself off to finally ruin Spencer’s plans completely.

While Sally has been known to take off her pillow sheet mask off in front of those she trusts, due to the nature of how she was cursed she must be permanently strangled. When she finally killed him Spencer used the last of whatever demonic power he possessed to curse Sally with his own breath. If the Entity had not intervened when it did Sally would have likely faced a very painful end with a possible tormented after life, however this does not mean her current existence is not painful. While she has taken the Wardens old power of being able to teleport it comes at a great cost to her own constitution. Sally can’t yell or speak for too long without pausing to breathe and her physical form has atrophied to the point that she cannot walk properly. To stop herself from being a complete cripple Sally channels the majority of her curse into keeping her body afloat. Even this alone takes a lot of energy and is the reason why she fatigues so easily after using her power to blink. If needed she can pull the breath back into her lungs to stop herself from floating to speak easier or if she needs to rest, but she will only do so if she knows she will be stationary for a long time. No one’s entirely sure what would happen if Sally’s noose of a collar would be taken off but it is certain that she would die.
