ohaphrodiite:
It was wrong and they both knew it but Aphrodite’s marriage had crumbled long before it had even start. They were together for convenience but once the honeymoon phase died away there was nothing left but an empty half of a bed. She was barely in her early twenties and it seemed that before she would finish this decade of her life that she’d be divorced. She had certainly not expected to fall in love or be involved with anyone else but what had started as a quick fling turned into something more serious; something she had longed for the whole time without even realizing it. Before she had realized it, she had grown a little too attached and only found herself wanting to see him more and more.
After months of hiding around it only continued with her husband out of town more often than usual for business meetings, Aphrodite enjoyed the company and the fact that someone for once paid attention to her. Laying against him with her head on his chest the brunette smiled choosing to ignore the moment when he’d have to leave again. They had days before her husband returned home but odds were he was going to leave before then. “You should stay, there’s no rush. He’s going to be at a business convention till next Tuesday.”
the thoughts of right and wrong were long gone from his mind. at first, he had seen it as a challenge, an adventure full of thrill and adrenaline. for a minute, he thought they’d never meet again. after all, she was married to a man who had his life together, unlike him. but to his surprise, their little fun affair had lasted more than anyone would expect. ares had spent countless hours thinking of excuses to give his parents, who were suspecting that he was seeing someone. as much as he’d love to shout to the skies his relationship status, a full blown ‘it’s complicated’, he’d rather not get in a chaos driven altercation with her husband, or his parents or the matter.
hiding around, sneaking out, late night texts and hungry kisses had defined the long months. her husband would be out of town often, but ares wasn’t dumb enough to show up unexpected and something in the back of his head, perhaps the flight or fight instinct, would make him leave the house right after seeing her. he could count with one hand the times he had spent the night, the male was terrified of being caught, not that he couldn’t stand his ground, but because of the fame they’d both get if this was ever discovered. a sigh escapes his lips, his fingers playing with her locks as he looks down at the female “We’ve talked about this. I don’t like staying, I can come back tomorrow night if you want”
