Sharing some of the stuff I was working away on for MCM just past, starting with this Ouran print!! I feel out of place at times at anime cons since my stuff gravitates towards a more gamey focus, usually a more nostalgia leaning than what is current - but I do have some anime knowledge!! I remember owning the OHSHC DVD set and rewatching the Alice in Wonderland episode in particular hehe..

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for February! Featuring Juliette and Warner during the 'Please don't shoot me for this' scene from Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi! Face-cradles are my favorite kissy pose (this is the fourth one now!), so color me tickled when I revisited this scene to find that was how exactly it was described for him to be holding her the moment of impact. 🫠 I've brought back the hatching that I've previously experimented with for my previous Gideon art (Griddle and Bone) and more recently in the LitJoy Grishaverse edges. It's a little more subtle in this one, but I like how it gives a colored pencil look! Back to work! 👋

Dropping my latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely patreon members for May! Featuring Lowe and Misery from BRIDE by @alihazelwood! I remember way too late into this that werewolves have green blood, so it was a bit disconcerting for me to make Lowe's subsurface scattering green hued. I swathed the entire image in a pink filter to make me feel better about it. Also, realizing illustrating bathtub scenes are great when you don't have to go deep diving for clothing descriptions!

Heyy everyone! Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, one that has been repeatedly requested by my lovely patreon members-- with a caveat! There were frequent requests for two scenes: one where Sophie tells Howl to find her in the future, and the 'There you are' scene in the beginning. I decided to bridge the gap between these two scenes and show something we've never seen before - the secret moment when Howl tracks Sophie down using matching ring he gave to Sophie. If you'll notice in the movie, it's sparkling just as he puts his hand on her shoulder. I thought it would be a fun 'what if' fanart for this off-screen theory. :)

Dropping the latest Patreon Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for November! One of the peak scenes from Winter of The Lunar Chronicles Series by Marissa Meyer, featuring Cress and Thorne! Cress was my favorite character of the series, simply because of the harrowing nature of her story-line. (her satellite??) Given that each of the four main leads are retellings of classic fairytales, I think Cress and Thorne had the most clever adaptation. After doing a second couple illustration from the series, I'm getting the urge to complete the set. Especially, Scarlett + Wolf, who have one of the most satisfying reunion scenes I've read thus far. Latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August! Inspired by Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands (Emily Wilde #2) by Heather Fawcett, featuring Emily and Wendell in some morning afterglow. I love how Emily is being indecisive about doing the traditional romantic things before Wendell wakes, but then he cuddles up with her anyway, deciding for her. Too cute. I kept his bedhead just for you, Em.

Quicksilver is quickly becoming my new favorite of its genre. This has been the first ACOTAR-esque-blockbuster-hype book that I've really enjoyed since ACOTAR. I don't know if it's the chemistry of the two characters on page, the vocal enhancements from the two narrators, the Rumpelstiltskin-esque bargain, or the refreshing shake-up of character roles, but it's really keeping my attention where I'm even letting it read to me as I fall asleep.
