"Enola Holmes 3 wasn't historically accurate" "Enola shouldn't have gotten married" "It was too different from the first two movies" can you shut the fuck up please. The first two were just as historically inaccurate. The main character consistently breaks the fourth wall, the fashion jumps all over the place, alternative history happens left and right, and the feminism is way too ahead of the period. Because the whole point of the movies is to be comedically inaccurate and fun. This is like if people walked into a musical and came out complaining about the singing.

As for the marriage: I fear the whole plot of this movie was Enola and Tewkesbury finding that what they really wanted was a free and equal partnership that was not based on religion or societal rules and allowed them to remain their own people while still belonging to each other - and that's what they got. If you still have a problem with her getting married even after watching a whole movie proving it's possible for a woman to get married without losing her autonomy, then you don't have a problem with the patriarchy. You have a problem with people getting married.

So please, just be quiet and let those of us who can see the point this movie was making enjoy it.

I love the interplay of Sherlock and Enola's relationship in that he is her voice of reason and she's his conscience

tbh my fav whump from the new enola was actually the look on sherlock’s face when enola is being hurt and he can’t get up to do anything about it. that PLUS the lines from the later scene when he says something like “how much it hurts to not be able to do anything” etc i mean as a sibling that was just devastating
