“That’s not really our thing. Serious conversations and the like.” Punzie confided, blushing at the thought of having to talk to Flynn about this sort of thing. He would probably laugh right in her face, and tell her to mind her own business. “I don’t know anyone he’s close w…” Trailing off, she thought back to the photo she had seen in his apartment, with the girl. She knew her, at least, a little. Jane was her name. “You’re probably right. I should talk to someone.”

“Maybe you should make it your thing at least once.” She noted, because she thought that maybe if they talked they could resolve some of the things the blonde seemed to be caught up in. She could see it eating away at her and she didn’t like that. She went to say something when Punzie trailed off, seeming to have thought of someone to talk to which was at least a start. “You should, it helps to get entail of someone who knows them so you know what you’re getting into. And Punzie-” She started, giving her friend a serious look, “Please be careful.”

Hans laughed to himself, shaking his head. “I think that’s a lie you’re telling yourself so that you’re not embarrassed about being caught.” He shouldered his bag. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell my girlfriend.”

“It’s not a lie, I don’t tend to ogle people because I don’t like it when people ogle me. I’d rather be appreciated than looked at like I was a piece of meat.” She told the other, moving to remove the band from her hair, releasing her pony tail so that her hair cascaded down her back. “It’s not as though I was going to jump you, so there would be nothing to tell her.”

“Are they not the same thing?” Hans asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement. 

“I think they’re different, I was appreciating how fit you were in the health way, not ogling in a way people do when they’re attracted to someone and want something out of the ogling.”

Hans chuckled as the girl floundered, ducking his head as he grabbed the water bottle from his bag and brought it up to his lips, taking a long sip. “Don’t worry about it.” He told her, as he closed the cap of his bottle and set it back down. “You’re not the first woman to ogle me in public. Though most do it more discreetly.”

Ariel was pretty sure the color of her cheeks was the color of her hair right now, wanting to bury her head into her locker and pretend the other wasn’t there. “I wasn’t ogling, pfft.” She told the other before looking at him, “I was just appreciating.”

Finishing up his workout, Hans’ chest heaved as he tried to catch his breath from running. His shirt had been removed due to the heat during his exercise, and he smirked as he grabbed his water bottle. “If you take a picture, I’m sure it’ll last longer.”

Ariel wasn’t a regular gym goer, she had the pool at her fathers place and she did enough jumping, running and walking as she explored to keep her fit. But for some reason when she woke up this morning all she wanted to do was hit the gym. And that was how she ended up in this predicament, she hadn’t even realized she had been staring so obviously until she was caught, blinking out of her haze and blushing- “Sorry, I didn’t mean to- I mean. I wasn’t aware I was staring. Sorry.” She rambled, turning back to what she had been doing before she began ogling the man in front of her.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Sure, except I like music. You like screeches,” he told her. “And as your music tutor, it is my job to educate you on this. Consider it an extra lesson,” he said with a layer of sarcasm. “Turn it off, please?”

“This is not screeching, this is music. It’s just not your taste. As someone who likes music so much I thought you would be appreciative of all types.” She pouted with her arms crossed over her chest. “Extra lesson or not, it’s not going to stop me from listening to it when you’re not around.” She told the other, turning to stop the music coming through the speakers before sighing. “So what do you want me listening to?”

“Right? I’m sure some classes in etiquette could shape them up to be decent – don’t you think?” the blonde suggested. “I’m Odette by the way, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said, holding her hand out for a shake.

“You would hope so, if not- then it really is hopeless. And people wonder why we love Beyonce singing about girls ruling the world so much- this is the reason.” She gestured towards the men around them and probably one of them being the one who had catcalled the woman in front of her. She took her hand, shaking it as she smiled, “Odette, that’s a really pretty name. I’m Ariel, it’s nice to meet you.”

“Of course. Remember, Aquata’s the one that loses her shit if she finds something in her room missing from it’s place,” Arista said with a soft laugh. “Besides, it’s thoughtful you even considered washing. Honestly I’m considering just giving it to you at this point because it looks better on you anyways.”

“And that’s why I try to put something back in the exact same place I found it when it comes to her, with you though- I just place it on your bed.” She smiled, “But I make it fair by letting you borrow anything of mine too.” She shrugged, her lips wrapping around the straw as she sipped up some of her iced coffee. “Of course, I’m not some monster.” She said with a small roll of her eyes, “Really?” She asked, her eyes lighting up, because she did have a habit of stealing the same thing of Arista all of the time.

Punzie looked up at her friend as she grab her hands, and she relaxed - but only a bit. “But I don’t want it to come to that.” She explained, trying not to pout. She felt like a child, complaining about things that she had no control over, but she had never been in a situation like this before. Huffing, she deflated and shrunk down into her chair. “I could punch him for making me feel this way. He’s a damned idiot.”

“Have you maybe thought about telling him all of this?” She asked the other, because sure Punzie was voicing her feelings to her, but maybe it would help to voice them to the person they were about. “Or maybe talk to someone who he’s close with, see what he’s like that will make you feel more at ease?” She suggested before laughing, “Maybe you should, I bet he wouldn’t forget you then.”

“And then I would’ve felt bad,” he admitted, unable to help but smile at that. He’d’ve hated to see her cry. Let alone because of him. That would be one of the worst things Eric could ever imagine. Chuckling, Eric gasped in mock pain as she batted his hand away. “You really have no faith in us, do you? It’s almost like you want us to get caught or something.” 

“Well good, I’m glad to hear that you have the emotions in you to feel bad if you make a girl cry.” She teased him lightly, saving that little bit of information that let her know of the others sensitivity for future information. “Oh you big softie.” She laughed as the other seemed to gasp in pain, “I have some faith, but I just want to be prepared in case things go sour. But as long as you’re a fast runner, then we’ll be good.” She let him know, “And as for getting caught, that can be fun sometimes, it get’s the adrenaline pumping.”

Punzie’s agitation grew,  and she started to tap her fingers against the table that they had chosen. She couldn’t even think about eating her cupcake at the moment, Flynn too much on her mind. “He’s going to get himself hurt. Or worse. And I don’t want that to happen.” Sighing, she leaned her head back. “I know it’s not a good idea, and it wouldn’t be my choice if I could have made the damned decision myself.”

Ariel watched as the others fingers tapped against the desk, moving her hand to cover the others in hopes that she would soothe her agitation. “Then he get’s himself hurt or worse- I mean. You could try and stop him, but he may shoot you down. Maybe something really bad has to happen before he reaches common sense.” She told the other, because she didn’t like to see her friend like this because she was clearly in distress over the man. “We can never make decisions about these things, trust me. It would be a lot easier to control your emotions and who you can like.”

Sebastian made a disgusted face. “What the hell kind of sound is that? It sounds like a cat is dying.”

Ariel looked at the other as she crossed her arms over her chest, “It’s a good sound, because it’s good music. Just because our tastes aren’t the same, doesn’t mean it’s not good.” She told the other not knowing whether to turn it up to annoy him, or to turn it off to appease him for once.

“Yeah, yeah.” Punzie rolled her eyes this time, looking away from her friend as she spoke. “He’s… basically a criminal. And he’s admitted as such to me. And I don’t know if he’ll ever stop, and I… Damn it.” She stopped for a long moment. “I care about him, and his well-being, and even though I don’t think he feels the same, it pisses me off that I can’t help him.”

“Don’t roll your eyes at me, Missy.” She warned as she pointed her finger in her friends direction- “Oh. So that’s bad boy to the next level.” She told the other biting her lip for a moment and thinking of the right words to tell her friend, “Maybe he doesn’t want to be helped.” She said softly, because just from a very brief description, it did sound that way. “And I’m not sure it would be wise to get mixed up with a criminal- but, you can’t help who you care about. These things happen and if he makes you feel good and feel happy- well..” She shrugged, because she knew that the other wouldn’t want to stay away from him, not from the way she was talking about him.

Punzie nodded. They had had this conversation multiple times, but it never went anywhere. Nowadays, Punzie just let it drop, much like she was doing now. Instead, she rolled her eyes at her friends enthusiasm. “My stories never include a guy.” She pointed, then continued. “His name is Flynn. He’s… not a good guy.”

Ariel waved the other off when she stated that her stories never included a guy, because that was besides the point, “That doesn’t matter- I still love it when they’re about a guy, or a girl. Or a crush.” She exclaimed, “I’m a hopeless romantic.” She sighed wistfully as she continued to eat the cupcake in front of her, listening to her words. “A bad boy? I feel like I should be proud of you, Punzie. But what makes him a bad guy?”

“Your sisters love you.” Punzie said, shaking her head. “They just want to make sure you’re safe.” Unlike her mom, who just didn’t want her going out in the world at all. She believed that it was all bad, or that was what she made her believe. “Um. Well.” Punzie crinkled her nose, trying to figure out a way to explain her situation. “There’s a guy.”

“I know they do and I know my father does too, but they want me to be too safe.” She said with a little shrug, her hand moving to revel in the warmth of the coffee. She always felt that it might be to do with her being the youngest, or because she resembled their mother the most- but she couldn’t be too sure. Ariel grinned when the other spoke, her head resting on her hands as she leaned in more, “I always love when there’s a guy. Go on.”

Punzie had crossed her legs under the table and made herself comfortable by the time that Ariel made it back to the table with her drink and their cupcakes. Smiling, she shrugged, unsure of what to say. “You know how my life goes. An endless array of sneaking out and being scolded by my mother.” She paused for a moment, hesitating, before she continued speaking. “There has been a break in the normality of it all, though.”

Ariel pushed one of the cupcakes over to the blonde, taking her own and swiping off some of the frosting with her finger and popping it into her mouth. “I feel like I can relate to that, though- my father isn’t as bad as your mother. Though I do have an array of sisters to answer too as well. Doesn’t stop me from exploring though.” She said with a small shrug, because that was one of the many thing she had in common with Punzie. “Oh? There has been? Do tell.”

“I’m flattered you think so,” Eric said, puffing up his chest with a laugh. “You’re not bad company yourself,” the curly haired young man teased, poking Ariel in the ribs playfully. “Exactly,” he chuckled. “You’re lucky I’m good at looking out and escaping.”

“Well..” She smiled a little, a soft blush on her cheeks not sure where she was going to go after that well. “I’m glad you think so, because if you had come out and said to my face that I’m terrible company, I might have cried just to make you feel bad.” She teased him back, a giggle leaving her lips when the other poked her in the ribs as she tried to bat his hand away. “So if we get into trouble, I can bring up those words again and prove you wrong?”
