“Alright, fine. But you did forget one thing for your argument. Han’s friends with Chewy too. Just for next time when you’re arguing with someone who doesn’t give in as easy.” Honestly, he could argue that Luke wasn’t whiny and was actually pretty badass in Return of the Jedi, but he wasn’t even his favorite character. “I’m free now if you are?”

“You say that like it’s a bad thing? Although I’d rather be Han but who wouldn’t?” Clearly pleased with the deal, his grin widened further. “Sounds perfect. If you buy the first round, I’ll get the second.”

“You see Luke’s the Jedi though. I mean you’re right who didn’t want to be Han Solo, he get’s Leia and that’s free of any weird ‘I was in love with my sister’ trauma. But a Jedi’s a Jedi.” Ari nodded before he smiled. “Sounds perfect to me too.”

“That should definitely be your slogan. Which just proves how kind hearted you are, another great quality. Ah, I see. It’s quite different when you’re the one behind the scenes. Passion, that’s probably it, the goal to create art and beauty would be a reward on its own for him. If that’s the case, then there’s really no issue about money. Your tremendous belief in me is almost fairy tale romance like. Good, because if you’re there then I have a great reason to do my best.”

“Keep complimenting me and pretty soon my head’s going to be too big to fit through doors. Yep, but that doesn’t mean my work still isn’t displayed though. I suppose, but it’s also going to get him killed. No, it’s the truth, that’s what it is. I mean if I’m a motivator then I’m happy to be, but you should be the reason you’re giving it your best.”

Elizabeth allowed herself a small smile. “It was my career to be a good liar, you know. But I suppose if I’m going to do a bad job of it, that’s a pretty good reason.”

“Well, we’ll just call it a favor for me. I love the salt-and-pepper sideburns. Besides, hair dying is messy enough as it is, let alone when it’s melting off. I had to dye my hair dark brown for a year once, can you imagine?”

“I suppose, but that could mean Orion’s just special. You could just be a good liar besides when it comes to your feelings towards him. If it’s important to you to be a good liar.”

“Okay, much easier than worrying about the stress. No, you have nice hair the way it is. That had to be hard to keep up with. Were you using a box?”

“You’re just a boatload of good things aren’t you? Not that stupid I’d say, I mean if it to uphold my word, and to stand true to what I say then that could translate to my standing in the world. Just gotta look at it in a different light. Siblings, now that’s something. Seems to be a thing one sibling is always lighter than the other. You’re a sweetheart, but I don’t know how I’ll be able to repay you. Meaning that if I do get in, I’ll be seeing more of you?”

“Yep that’s me Ari infinite good things Porter. I suppose that’s true, but I don’t really think anyone should get beat up for anything. I have a feeling Orion was much more calm once in life, but then he became a director. Which I’ll never understand, since he’s clearly not making his income from it. I think him and his brother were trust funds or something. Repay me by auditioning because there’s no if, you will get in. So, yes, you probably will be seeing more of me.”

“Confidence, now that’s hot. O-Oh you would, well that’s awfully nice of you to say. I’m alright people tell me I’m a lil’ shit. Yeah, being there would just be amazing. Orion. I have to remember that name.”

“I try.” He laughed a little. “Of course I would. Besides, it’s be a stupid reason for you to get beat up. Honestly anything to get your foot in. Yep, Orion Upton. His brother works there too. He’s good, just not quite as... strict? But I’ll put in a good word for you. They have me doing make up and hair for the next production.”

“Yeah, you’re honestly the best looking guy here. Don’t tell anybody I said that, I’m tiny and bruise very easily. I’m afraid they’ll come at me with pitch forks for revealing the truth. How do you know they would love me?”

“I don’t really have to tell anyone, they already know. But thank you, and I promise I won’t tell anyone. I’d hate for you to get hurt being honest. You’re a great guy. And I can tell you’d be passionate about it. Orion likes that even if he yells sometimes.”

“Lucas is a good, strong name. Especially on handsome blonds.” His lingering smile was somewhat angelic, and entirely unbelievable. With a heavy, defeated sigh he continues. “Alright, if you insist we can make it a beer, I guess.”

“Pretty soon I’m going to call you Lucas Skywalker.” He laughed a little before he rolled his eyes at his second statement. “Okay fine. I’ll buy you a beer. The Rail Yard?”

“You are gorgeous. Sorry, just felt like I needed to say that. Thanks, I might, but I don’t think I’m good enough for that sort of thing.”

“Am I? Thank you. I think you should. You might be surprised. All of them at the theatre would love to have you.”

Elizabeth tried to find words to defend herself or insist that Ari was mistaken or otherwise drawing unfair assumptions, but when she opened her mouth she couldn’t think of anything that would sound remotely believable. And to think you’re a class A spy. “You know, I never used to be this bloody transparent. How bad is it? – God, you can say that again. He’s tried dying it, did you know? It just melted off at the next day of auditions.”

Oh oops, he’d assumed something about the two of them. He’d just seen a lot of things in his life and what was going on between the two of them looked like love. “I mean, you’re in love? That’s stereotypically and truthfully hard to cover.” He laughed a bit thinking about the dye melting off. “I’d offer to help him, but I worry about not being able to cover it up either.”

“The grey sideburns are nothing less than flattering. And to be fair, have you seen some of those community theatre actors? It’s a wonder he’s got any hair left.”

“That’s because you love him.” Ari laughed, mostly joking. “Oh no, I’m not judging him or saying it’s his fault. I’m just worried. It’s almost unnatural.”

“I guess that’s a sacrifice that I will have to be willing to make.” He sighed heavily, like it was a burden. “You could buy me a hot chocolate to make up for it?”

“Better be because that’s what I’m calling you.” Ari smirked a little, though being completely serious. “Your name ego so ruined that I have to get you hot chocolate?”

“I prefer Prince, or the artist formerly known as Prince. For you though, I’ll let you get away with Lucas.”

“You see I like ‘the artist formerly known as Prince.’ Might be a mouthful, though, so Lucas is fine.”

“Oh, hair loss due to stress. It’s Colorado, there’s plenty of stress relief remedies here. Me back? I’ve never been actually. I’ve always wanted to, just never had the chance.”

“I mean that helps most of us, but he’s British and loaded or something. I mean they’re intimidating over there, but if it’s something you want to do, I think you should try?”

“Isn’t that also hair, or more likely hair loss. I’ve always loved Theater, never been able to actually perform, but still hoping I get the chance to do so.”

“More like color loss, but I guess it’s more of a comment on his... stress issues? You should try the community theatre to get your name in and then they’d want you back.”
