Heroics by a damsel (not in distress)

When her phone buzzed once more she was certain that the stranger was indeed texting the right person. She was not going to lie, it was amusing and flattering (and a tad bit creepy) to know that someone was observing you and wanted to get to know you and this realization brought a smile on her lips. Lifting her gaze from the book laid out in front of her, she looked around the room in search of the possible mastermind but came up empty-handed. Almost all the other students in the cafeteria were on their smartphones as well so she was left with nothing else but to reply back.Ā
[ sms: unknown ] well, youāve earned my curiosity so why not give it a go? [ sms: unknown ] iāll share my M&Mās with you!Ā
After hitting the reply button, all she had to do now was wait and she hoped that the other would not disappoint by not introducing themselves. She played with her pen as she waited, her earlier concentration lost with her curiosity getting the best of her.Ā
he had expected a more long winded conversation, one that had them pulling and pushing over their phones, though, he wonāt deny, he likes her approach. what was better than to actually give it a go. though chocolate wasnāt much his forte, sweet things did not bode well in the underworld, her offer only made the sweetened the deal.Ā
standing from his table, he tucks his phone into his pant pocket, straightens his uniform and paces over to her, shoulders broad, back straight, smile bright, white and friendly. there will always be something about those cheerleaders, he realises, laughing to himself. raised with manners, he first stands before her, a hand on the chair, offering a hand to her,Ā āintroductions are very much necessary, especially for a girl as beautiful as yourself. aristotle hades. itās nice to finally meet youāĀ
ā OTP
Her ears perk up at the call of her name by the familiar melodic voice that shoots cheesy pick up lines at her every day, and by far, she is not surprised when the owner of it appears jogging beside her. The princess comes to a halt, the heels of her feet turning so that she could face the tall boy, whom seems to flirt with anything thatās alive and breathing.
āHey, Aris,ā she greets with the brightest of smiles before laughing at the highly expected pick up line that comes after. āGood one. Definitely better than yesterdayās. You should try using it on someone else though. You could get a proper reaction. Like a blush or a shy giggle, maybe?ā Joyce teases whilst walking away.Ā
People warn her time and time again to be wary of Aristotle Hades, to not allow him to crawl under her skin like others do, but the warnings do not faze her. Heās one of the biggest flirts known to mankind, sure, however, he seems genuinely nice. Plus, Joyce isnāt the best at ignoring.Ā
by now, at least with any other female, he would have her hand in his, placing a soft kiss to knuckles, because, well, thatās what heās found girls like. but hes learnt from past mistakes, that joyce wasnāt those kinds of girls, that he would have to try harder.
he laughs alone, following after her as she walks away, his smile matching hers, though they were probably for entirely different reasons.Ā ānow blush, giggle or swoon?ā he replies to her own statement, shrugging, and frown, every so slightly, so that his brows furrow just enough,Ā āitās back to the drawing board i guessā
he straightens up after that, his posture now perfect, waking alongside the princess, wanting, not only to appear appropriate to be her companion, but to appease any wary eyes that fall over them.Ā āso what are you up to today? want to give me the pleasure of having a coffee over croissants?āĀ

āWhat?ā He hisses lowly, his eyes narrowing at the other male as he flails slightly, trying to get the other to quietĀ down because itās the library and there are people shooting them dirty looks. Itās not that he really caresĀ about the dirty looks, just that the more people look at them, the more likely it is that theyāll get in trouble. And while he doesnāt really care about getting in trouble, he does care about the sheer amount of time that will be wasted, trying to get themselves back out of that situation.Ā
With narrowed eyes and a suspicious glances towards the younger boy, his lips press together for a moment.Ā āIām not hiding anything.ā He replies vehemently, his tone fierce and sharp, though still hushed, appropriately so for the library.Ā āHypothetically, though⦠hypothetically, what would you do if someone came up to you stone drunk and kissed you?āĀ
He really hopes, prays, that for once, Aris will just take his words at face value and not ask anymore questions, but knowing Aris, that definitely wonāt happen. He swears sometimes that Aris was brought to Elias to make his life hard, but he knows thatās not true at all.Ā
when aris awoke that morning, dragged his near perfect body out of bed, and trudged towards the library, he had, not in the hundred or so years that he had lived prior, ever thought that vince would be sitting opposite him, talking about hypothetically making out with a person. hypothetically, vincent could be taking the piss, teasing him, making fun of him, but there was also the option that he was telling the truth and just didnāt want aris to know.Ā
he decides to take the high road.
coming forward in the chair, he unceremoniously tosses all his things to one side, slamming two open fists on the table, creating as much of a (loud) fanfare as he possibly could ātell. me. everything!ā caught somewhere between being proud of his friend and wanting to judge him for what he knows (even if he really doesnt) will be bad technique.Ā
āit truly dependsā he begins,Ā āon what hypothetically happened, what hypothetical base you got to and who this hypothetical person wasā he drawls one word, hypothetical and all its forms, out with half a laugh, to further show how little he believed vince,Ā āi would have probably gotten their name and numberā he shrugs, his smile still teasing, ābut this is all hypothetical, right?āĀ
Proof that Hansol Aris has the greatest reactions Ā©

contrary to widely spread, popular belief, aristotle hades could, in fact, be quiet for more than a moment at a time. regardless of the four or five degrees heās managed to scoop up overtime, he still thinks education to be very important, if not for a final piece of paper stating his accomplishment, but the process. he was always so appreciative of the process.
he sits at his own desk, back facing to his room mate, one sebastian ciel maximoff. on paper, sebastian seemed like the perfect addition to his collection of close friends: photographer, tall, attractive, was it possible for a guy to have such pretty eyes?, but, also, and most importantly, his eldest sister was the head of the cheerleading squad. aris would become his friend at all costs.
āhey, sebastian?ā he calls over his shoulder, placing his phone back onto the table, returning to his geometry work,Ā ācheck your phone when you can and tell me what you think?ā what better place to start a strong friendship than getting a bros opinion on dick pic angles.
casually changing face claims from zelo to vernon donāt mind meĀ

She attempts with difficulty to steady her standing. Hands wrap around his forearms, following the direction of gravity and weighs her torso against his. Previously concerned, her cheeks crease with amusement. He always liked to call her goddess. Even if she wasnāt technically one, he always acted like she was.Ā
āI thought her name was Beatrice?ā Eyebrows furrow in enquiry as they move down the path. Perhaps she was mistaken and this may be one different from the present she had gifted him when he turned seventeen.Ā āDid you replace that her already?āĀ
Wobbly knees continue to wobble along the pathway, fingers tightened with every meter they crossed. Unconfident as she was on the board, she refused to stop. The wind in her hair was too much fun to give up just yet. Until she topples over expectedly. She hits the floor with a twirl, landing as gracefully as a true muse could.Ā āYou fall into the River Styx all the timeā She says, lifting her hand into the air, awaiting his hand to help her up.Ā āItās not that unique.ā
ābea and i broke up a long time. she tried to get in between me and my man timeā what that meant, he isnāt sure, most in part to the often debated notion that he wasnāt truly a man. he was a god. and, though, he would identify himself as a man, he was more than the mortal being. right?Ā āplus you know how my dad is about that stuffāĀ
he tries to ignore the slight pang of his heart, not, for once, as if a blue moon flew overhead or something, not his dick, as her entire body falls to the floor. any other person, human or not, would have looked destructive, tumbling to the floor after falling from the board but, juliet, a goddess, made it look easy. perhaps, even, downright enviable. he offers his hand to help her up, pulling her in a way that has her land flush against his chest.Ā āmaybe you should take a dip with me the next time you visit. we could go skinny soul dippingā he couldnt resist, even in her presence, his personality was evident, though, as he raises a hand to push a strand of hair from her face, his smile was sincere,Ā āare you okay? that looked like it hurtāĀ

shadows,
he wakes with shaking hands and short breaths, both the aftermath of nightmaresāthe usual stalking of the shadows, the bending and stretching of darks that mask assailants, his killers, his enemies. and even if he knows itās not real, that their steps end the moment he opens his eyes, he canāt shake the feeling of reality; something about the dream had weight, clarity, the potency of reality and it pushes him to the corner of the bed where his back meets the wall, shoulders bump against the wallpaper, while his eyes widen and drink in the medley of shadows that emerges, that flickers in the corner like the low murmur of a candle.
his heart pounds against the cage of his ribs, forms a dull thud that forms thick waves of sound only he can hear, ones that leave him breathless; clumsily, he fishes out his phone, starts to dial the number of the only person he knows can help him, one of the few who would care to put an end to such a frivolous matter of dreams and fantasy. ariāthe only one who can pierce the paranoia to let the light trickle in, to let clarity hold its reign. he dials, hears the tone, hopes for the best as his composure crumbles, coils him up in the corner of his bed.
not often enough, aris thinks, that he finds himself so ready to throw away the confinements of his persona. where, in the dim lights of early morning, aristotle felt much less like aris, boy wonder, but more like aristotle, future god, in charge of more than a world of souls--dreams, nightmares, safety and not.Ā
the phone shines bright through the darkness of his dorm, his room mate, as quiet as he was, fast asleep a few feet away. lazily, without effort or concern, he turns over to answer the call, expecting nothing more than silence he hears when he reads the caller id. heās up a second later, a jacket thrown around his arms a second after that, gone from his dorm and appearing before another in no less than five minutes, the call still ongoing as he moves. he knocks twice, still silent, waiting.

Studying quietly has always been an easy feat for him. He has an excellent memory, probably inherited from his parents, he canāt be entirely sure, but thank goodness for it either way. He has no idea how in the world heād manage studying if he had to sit there for hours and commit everything to memory fifteen times. Nevertheless, he lets himself settle into a rhythm, staring at the books as he falls into the zone, flipping pages methodically.
So when Arisās voice interrupts him, he jumps in surprise, his eyes widening slightly as he glances up at the other. āKeep your voice down!ā He hisses, his expression quickly turning annoyed as he glares at the other, wincing slightly. āWhat the hell? Where did you hear that?ā He asks suspiciously ā he hadnāt gotten any ass, but heād certainly gotten a nice kiss thatās still running around his mind, and he hesitates before he glares insistently at the son of death.
āI did not get any āā He protests immediately, his eyes narrowing at the other. āWhat do you think youāre doing?ā
aris, for what it was worth, always had pretty good control over his voice, his words, his dictation. it just always so happened, unfortunately, for those around him, anyway, that he just chose to not care. his levels remained the same whether he was in a library, as vinceās face contorts in annoyance underlines, to that of a beach, where he had to carry his voice above the shouts of other goers.Ā
regardless, he is shushed into submission, a roll of his eyes offered in return,Ā āyouāre such a worrywart, vinceā rather flamboyantly, without shame, he leans into his chair, legs kicked onto the table, one folded over the other, making himself comfortable, happy with the reaction. ānow, now, someone is getting awfully defensive thereāĀ
in a smooth movement, he goes from laying back against the chair, to sitting upright, eyes bright with pretend concerned, a teasing laugh already on his lips, āi didnāt hear anything from anywhere, actually,Ā i was just fucking with you. good thing i did becauseā he waves his hand before vinceās face, āall of this, right here, is hilarious. what are you hiding rogers? spill the beans.ā Ā Ā

It was not unusual for Alexa to spend time alone in the cafeteria after school hours on days when she did not have cheer training or other clubs activities to keep herself busy with. She would often sit at one of the tables by the window to do her homework or some advanced reading with her favorite cup of tea to keep her company. Her schoolmates would often pass her by, sometimes to have a quick chat or sometimes just to say hi, but she was undisturbed on her own for the most part.Ā
So when her phone vibrated loudly against the table, the buzzing sound was more than enough to grab her attention. She read through the messages and could help the amused smile that graced her lips. Obviously someone, whoever it was, was very bored but she found no harm in sending a response.
[ sms: unknown ] are you sure you have the right person? [ sms: unknown ] perhaps you texted the wrong number by mistake.Ā
settling in a table not too far from her, close enough that he would be able to note her reactions, far enough so as to seem alike to another stranger in the room, he places attention completely on his phone. her reply had him in stitches, the nonchalance in her words only briefly sweeping against the interest that he thinks is there. there was no other reason she would reply, unless, of course, she wanted to.Ā
(text): as right as right can be (text): sheās looking at her phone though,Ā guess she must be texting someone really interesting (text): what do you think stranger? should i give it a go?
placing the phone onto the table, flat, the screen facing him, he looks over his shoulder slightly, conspicuously glancing at her, studying what she was doing, deciding his best course of action. a smile is on his lips in moment, only imaging what she could reply with, turning to face forward so she doesnāt notice the tall boy giving her looks.Ā

when aris enters a room, there is a fairly good chance that a few heads will turn his way. his reputation always had this habit of preceding him, jealous boyfriends placing imaginary bounties over his head, girls with heart eyes hoping he would talk to them. its a habit, he thinks, that develops with her personality, but forgotten within moments when his eyes focus on todays object of affection.
alexandrina lux rose. proper full name because, as he always says, she was gorgeous and should only be address as such. heās starting to think he has a thing for princesses, he muses to himself with a laugh, pulling his phone from his pocket and sending off a quick message.
(text): really pretty cheerleader in the cafeteria right now (text): perfect curls, perfect smile, perfect ten (text): what do you think? should i go over and introduce myself?Ā

If there was a prize for rotten judgement⦠digits drum and harmonies hum. That was what defined Juliet Muse. Sun and shine. Vocals. Tall, eager-eyed, excited best buddy.Ā āWhat did I say about calling me baby girl?ā her thinning patience all pretend, concern creasing her cheeks.Ā
Where her edges needed filing, Aristotle seemed to fill happily. Her height had room for improvement though his legs made do with that concern. Chocolate curls balanced against his blonde wash. Bright smiles matched with bright eyes. Her smiles were always bright when it came to Aristotle. Never Aris. Just, Aristotle.Ā
Juliet moves forward to take the board from him. It falls to the floor and she steps on, hands reaching out for Aristotle to help her balance.Ā āWhy do you always ride this thing?ā Worry was her forte, worrying about him. Neither could die but that just made things worse.Ā āItās a perfectly marketed death trapāĀ
pulling a tone over his octave average voice, he frowns, attempting to recreate her exact expression, tongue in cheek, hazy eyed,Ā ādonāt call me baby girl aristotle, i am neither baby nor a girlā complete with a friendly roll of eye, he slips his hand around her waist as she stands on the board,Ā āsorry, goddess, iāll remember proper names next timeā
he moves along with the board, keeping her balanced, mostly in part, to his amusement, by allowing her weight to fall onto him, leaving little gravity to the board, pushing her forward,Ā āi ride that thing because itās family, jules.ā soon he is laughing, loudly, pushing the other down the path, occasionally making sharp movements to scare her a little bit, ready for the slap that sheāll give him and, he hopes, with more of his heart than he realises, the same toothy grin he, always has, always will, loves.Ā āgloria and i have been together through everything. you know we fell into the river styx once? but this really nice wailing dude handed her back without argument. it was really niceāĀ
