Virginia just nodded distractedly at him as she chose from a variety of spices in the spice section. “Yeah—doesn’t work that way. I might find a clown funny, but that doesn’t mean I’d wanna date him.”

She was aware of Aro’s agitated behavior in her periphery, but she didn’t comment at all on it—she was being accompanied, and Aro had not been annoying so far, so there really was no harm in having him there.

Virginia couldn’t find it in her to hide her surprise. She stood there for a moment, bewildered, holding a jar of pickles in one hand. She couldn’t quite tell anymore if Aro was still joking—he did employ the same quiet, determined-to-be-funny tone, though the supposed ‘joke’ sounded a tad bit creepy.

"I’m gonna be frank with you, Aro—for your sake, don’t get me wrong, I want you to be able to socialize optimally—but that was a little bit psycho. Tone it down. You’re doing great in the outside world."

Virginia completely failed to catch the message in the jumble of creepy words, that Aro wanted to invite her over.

Aro eyes' relaxed at the sigh of dark green caps that resembled hard plastic mushroom protecting their valued, intrinsic flavors from the world - elusively portraying an image of delicate taste by the idea of making it finite and enclosed. He watched pale hands go through the a number of McCormick jars - which was like an escape for him truly. Aro could have handled the situation better, but the indirect mention of Virginia not being attracted to someone who was a clown like him had cut a deep wound in his being. Maybe his luck was truly running out. Instead of furthering the conversation, he simply cleared his throat - something more of a habit whenever he tried to keep words that would only create more chaos than clarification tried to escape himself.

As such, Aro felt discomfort at the ground he stood in. He knew that he had practically imposed himself in her company. For all he knew, he was ruining the whole ordeal with Virginia by just being there. His lighthearted humour had escaped him entirely as he listened to her comment about him being a psycho. There was nothing more Aro wanted than to impress Virginia, but being himself - a psychotic clown - didn't seem to be helping his cause. So instead, he just nodded and lightly told her than he would note that before he gave her a small smile conveying more pain than happiness before taking charge of the cart once again. "I'll go on ahead," he whispered as he turned to another aisle.

He took a deep breath and tried to compose himself. Sometimes emotions get the better of him, but he couldn't contain how much confusion and resentment he felt for himself. He ran his palm against his brow, pressing against the tender bundle of muscles. He wasn't in the place to act out like this. He cracked his knuckles before turn his gaze back, waiting for Virginia to come around, and when she did, he tried to reassure her of a familiar and warm smile. "What else is in your list?" He asked with his voice far too jolly, an obvious sign that he was feigning status quo. "We can't keep the ducks waiting," he added with a small, forced laugh.

Brad Pitt. Eh. The only thing worthwhile there was Eric Bana being dragged across the desert. I always fall asleep on Romeo and Juliet, though! I've read it, but the movie is simply lackluster. Hey, man, it could be for something! Like what if the world comes to an apocalypse and they need to re-make Troy after the whole ordeal? I can be the greatest film maker there is!

Aro shifted his weight from foot to foot, feeling the soothing stretch of his muscles as they were snapped from dormancy and fatigue. He had been in quest of trying to find his way around town by himself yet he has found an entirely new world as he spoke to brunette, who seemed to be quite transfixed with her mischievous deeds painted with ill-humored wits. Aro would not deny that he was more intrigued navigating through her spontaneous and intricate mind than walking about the streets towered with old red brick buildings-turned-commercial-establishments. However, for now, all he could do was give her a disconcerting smile of either acceptance or bemusement.

He stooped closer to her person as she went about her defense of being rationally irrational, and of course, like any man, Aro felt the urge to try and understand her stand. From what he's getting, he thought of the smaller person as a beautiful contradiction of merged interests and borderlines blurred with the slur of wits and openness for the world and it's beauty. He gave an airy laugh of comfort as her voice cleared with stern with her proclamation of not being a gang member. "I'm relieved, Adelaide" he retorted as a mile passed his lips. "As for at Jenny Lawrence girl, no. Not a fan of whatever she has done." Truthfully, he wasn't.

And just when Aro thought that her wits and dread for the waxing of philosophical had died down, Aro was somewhat stunned with her mention of him being a coward. The young man was taken aback and he did not hide his emotions and reaction towards the matter. He titled his head as he took it upon himself to regain posture and looked at her from his own height. He licked his lips as she tried to justify her words, but the thorn had already latched itself into his chest - a scab that he knew he would pick during the next following nights, but he also knew that he was not in the proper places to go about his thoughts and let the whole ordeal create an air of unspoken truths that would render him and his new friend both unable to find any other common ground.

As such, he merely cleared his throat - a habit he had developed over the years when he knew he needed to hold back the words that would cause more damage than clarification. He had not been more relieved when Adelaide spoke of a lighter topic. Aro took the opportunity to say yes - yes to walking about the town, yes to going back home, yes to the halt of being entirely lost, and yes to perhaps walking this one amusing girl home. He nodded gently and subtly to hide his biasedness and relief from being questioned as a coward to possibly making a friends out of a peculiar stranger. He smiled once again before tugging the strap of his backpack, letting the strained muscles of his shoulder feel momentary relief.

He finally found enough room for laugher when he noticed that Adelaide, too, seemed to be in pursuit to lighten the mood. He laughed at her light inquistions. He tried his best to let his awkward humor and intrinsic insights take over. "Who knows at this point, really? Do you watch Ancient Aliens? They say that we're merely experiments of aliens put here on Earth or something," he recalled with eyes widening with his own rational skepticism. He then turned to take in the place, trying to remember it to avoid anymore mishaps of him getting lost in the area. His eyes narrowed down to a particuliar sign of St. Goretti's Ballet Academy with it's intrinsic metalworks and a small bird metal sculpture hanging from the sign - which Aro could only guess as a sparrow. He took it in before turning to Adelaide and giving her a warm look of familiarity. "Alright, so which way is home?" Entirely brushing the question of being her boyfriend aside for some other time.
