     ”Yui,” She nodded and gave a reassuring smile for good measure. “With two pairs of eyes, we should be able to find him in no time!” Despite how big the city was. Really, the person this girl was looking for could have been anywhere. But that didn’t mean that they shouldn’t try at all. Her thumb jutted and pointed over her shoulder, “The park down the street from here is the biggest in Iunctum; the playground is there too, and I’d certainly go there if I was a child. We should definitely check there.”

    With that being said she led the charge in spirited strides. Two eyes would certainly help, and if the other was half as diligent and task-oriented as Yui perceived her to be, there was no way they wouldn’t find her friend somewhere. Thinking that, well, Yui vowed to remain diligent as well.

   A playground, huh...? Lyurm'd probably love that, honestly; a nice place for him to run around and go a little wild. Maybe there'd be other kids for him to play with there too? Fair couldn't help but smile a little bit at the thought. It'd be good for him to play with others. "If you're sure you're okay with helping, going there would be a great start."

   Trotting beside Yui, for the first time Fair felt a bit more at ease. She really did remind her of Big Sis Mint... It was like a little piece of home. Speaking of which... "Hey, Yui, have you been here long? Is this place anything like where you came from?" 

   She didn't want to think the kind stranger was dangerous, but learning a bit about her background would help set her mind at ease.

     The sword should be the extension of one’s self — that’s what she kept mind when she found the time and safety to bring out the silver blade. The courtyard of their apartment complex proved to be a space open enough to thrust and cut at the air without fear of anyone getting hurt or scared off by seeing such a thing. A blessing indeed it was that at this time of day, most people were either working or at school. Most importantly, this time of day was a haven away from her husband — though truthfully, and she felt a pang of guilt rise in her chest for this, she had made it a point to seldom be home whenever possible.

     Guilt because in doing so she was leaving her new daughter to be thrown under the griffin’s talon. And additionally, having so little faith within herself: she was no longer in Ylisse, yes, but that did not make her any less a Shepherd. Olivia, with beads of sweat collecting on her brow as she kept an even pace with her one woman swordplay, vowed to retain her strength and fortitude within her heart. But refreshing her verse with the blade did not hurt either.

     She continued her training with great focus, precisely why when she was called to by another voice she jumped and gasped instantly. Miraculously, her grip on the weapon remained firm. She turned on her heel to be met with, speak of the devil, Fair. Olivia recalled introducing herself, but rarely did she find the comfort to speak to her. But now that they were alone, she felt a lot more at ease.

     ”Fair,” She greeted and tilted her head in a cordial nod. “It’s rather early…I-I did not expect you to be up and about at this hour. But I suppose it is a prime time for breakfast…or a stroll…”

   Getting up early was habit, by now; back home she had an inn to run after all. Rising early in order to complete her household chores and prepare things for the day, or to practice her swordsmanship, was a normal thing for Fair. Now that she was in this strange other world, she didn't have the inn to worry about (directly at least; she hoped Lisher and Lushean could handle it while she was gone) but she wanted to at least continue her training.

   It was early enough in the day that people wouldn't be about, or so she hoped; she didn't have the grounds she had back home anymore, so she set off (quietly) to the courtyard, sword thumping comfortingly by her side. It was a piece of home in this strange new world, if nothing else. 

   Of all things to see upon her arrival, however, seeing her new... mother, such a delicate woman, wielding a sword so gracefully was not something she'd expected to see. 

   "Olivia?"

   Calling out (her name, of course; Fair had never had a mother that she could remember, it was be too strange to call a stranger by that title) was instinctive and of course, she caught the dancer's attention almost immediately. She winced as the other jumped, hoping that she wouldn't injure herself, and was quite impressed to see her keep steady, for the most part. Well.

   "I could say the same to you... I didn't know you could use a sword," Approaching slowly, she unsheathed her own blade, letting it hang by her side once she had. "I came down to practice. Do you mind if I join you?"

   There were fewer more touching things in life than a parent being reunited with their missing child; few more raw, emotional moment than the moment the parent would take the child in their arms and weep, saying things such as "I'm so glad you're home safe". The child would, in turn, cling to their parent and sob with such intensity, crying out about how scared they were, how frightened.

   The scene would undoubtedly touch the hearts of all who would observe it; how could they not, when faced with such a tender display of love an affection? Truly, a reunion of that sort would be tender and loving no matter what.

   Right?

   "Where have you been? I was worried sick!"

   Or not. For some families, namely families consisting of an innkeeper and a tiny dragon, the annoyed worry came first. Never mind the fact said innkeeper had disappeared first; parents can't always be rational, right?

     The description was vague at first and the way Yui’s brows stitched together quizzically could attest to this; many children would be able to fit that description, so it’d be rather difficult to look for them. But when the girl elaborated further Yui’s quizzical expression remained static. Odd for a child to be sporting such attire, no? But perhaps that was fine — children ought to express themselves, she thought.

     On the matter at hand, although she frowned when she shook her head, there was a certain glint in her eye.

     ”I can’t say that I’ve seen anyone like that around before, I’m sorry. But perhaps we can go scout for them around the neighborhood? Visit places that they might like to go, that sort of thing.”

   For a moment, the young girl deflated, brows knitting together in worry. She had been asking people all day, searching as much as she could, and as much as the little twerp annoyed her, she wanted to make sure he was safe. She'd been sick with worry last time it had happened, and back then he didn't even have human form -- it was worse now that she knew him.

   "Hm?" Revived now, she jerked her head up to meet the gaze of the stranger. This was her first offer of help today, after all; of course she'd be a little surprised. "If you're free, then help would be appreciated..." She trailed off for a moment. Yes, that would be fine. The girl seemed trustworthy, and even if she wasn't, Fair figured that she and Lyurm could take her once reunited. 

   "Would you help me check the park, then, Miss...?"

     Now Yui had to admit being essentially kidnapped to an entirely different planet didn’t sit really well with her at first; the idea of being forcibly married made her sick to her stomach, unfortunately both of these phenomena weren’t new in the slightest — but things were great. More than great! Things were normal.

     No vampires, no more would she have her blood sucked, and no being used as the goat for a vampire king’s weird…mystical hoodoo. Nothing at all. She went to school, went to work, and came home to two boys who were a kind and lively duo. Yui could cry at how mundane this all sounded (and indeed she did), and she wouldn’t have it any other way.      The circumstances of how she and everyone else got here aside, she was able to breathe again; dream again. She wasn’t just alive, she felt it too. And she was happy.

     Her good spirits were evident — Yui’s attention had been beckoned for and she stopped her promenade back toward home, turning on her heel toward the other girl. And she smiled kindly, nodding in response.

     ”Gladly! Ah, what would you like to know?” What a fascinating person, no? Her clothing wasn’t like anything Yui had ever seen before. When the opportunity presented itself, she would definitely ask.

   The beaming smile of the other, taller girl put Fair in a slightly better mood; in a way, it reminded her of big sis Mint, warm, kind, comforting. It gave her a sense of wanting to trust this girl instantly, but for the kid's sake, she couldn't just yet. Not everyone was affiliated with Liviel, Seilong and Aroeri, after all. 

   Which also meant that she'd have to be careful when questioning this girl; she really didn't want to make it public knowledge that the child reincarnate of the Guardian Dragon was running around without her -- the so-called mother -- to keep an eye out. Alas, again her mood became more serious. She really was a worried mother, wasn't she?

   "I'm actually looking for someone... A kid, a little bit shorter than me," She estimated the height to be slightly above her elbow, and gestured her guess with her left hand. "With wild hair and strange clothes..." This probably wasn't too helpful, but how did one describe a dragon without outright saying they were a dragon. "I know that's sort of vague but... Well, the kid is hard to picture... You'd definitely know when you saw them, at least," Sighing, Fair closed her eyes for a moment, trying to collect herself. A slight lie might be beneficial at this point.

   "... They have these accessories, they look like horns and a tail," She relented eventually, deciding that (since this girl certainly didn't look like anyone from Lyndbaum), she'd have to use this as a disguise. "They're sort of a blue colour with yellow markings... I know this isn't a lot to go on, but have you seen anyone like that? I really need to find them soon."

Shintaro had meant to attempt dinner but in the time it took him to finish up his latest song, he had grown too tired and lazy. He appreciated the fact that Lunctum had services that delivered, seeing as most of those places were hardly around when he was back in his home town.

He got up and stretched quietly, wondering where his son and spouse had gotten off to before deciding it was probably for the best that they do their own thing. When the girl arrived, he nodded at his name and pulled out some cash, handing it over. “Thanks, keep the change.” He murmured, a good four or five bucks being left over.

She looked a tad familiar, he noticed after a moment, before he realized she was probably just one of his nearby neighbors. “Would you like to come in for some tea or something?” He asked, looking out at the sky. It was probably a bit of a ways to where he was, and he wanted to be polite if even a little.

   "Thank you very much," Business like smile in place as per usual, Fair traded the delivered lunch for the payment, and pocketed it, wondering how long it would be before some weirdo selling medicine came up to her and asked her to buy their wares again. Hopefully she could escape that fate until she got back to work later on. Still, this was a lot of leftover money for just change... Maybe she could buy something for the kid, if they ever turned up.

   Shaking her head to rid herself of that thought before she started to feel guilty (the guilt never really left because she did not want to abandon that child a second time) she was momentarily stunned by his offer. Maybe he'd recognised her too? Well, it was nice of him to offer.

   "If you wouldn't mind having me!" Straightening up a bit, dusting off her apron quickly, she bowed slightly. "My name's Fair, by the way; I've seen you around sometimes, so I guess we're neighbours. Hope we can get along, Shintaro!"

   Work wasn't so bad here in Iunctum; it was certainly easier than managing an entire inn on her own. Running all over town was a bit tough, but at least she wasn't the only one delivering "take away food", even if she disagreed wholly with the idea of "fast food". How she wished she could cook everything out properly, like she did back in Lyndbaum. But that would be a little bit difficult, honestly.

   The weather was pleasant today, and focusing on her work allowed her to push back her other concerns for a while. Plus, delivering around the place was actually a good way to cover ground while she searched for the kid. All in all, it really wasn't bad. Holding the box of steaming hot food carefully, the young girl continued on her way, occasionally dropping her gaze to check the apartment number on the paper stuck to her package.

   As it turned out, her destination wasn't far from her own home; apartment 1.018. This was her last delivery for the day, so maybe she could use this chance to get to know the neighbours. No Lisher or Lushean for sure, but having friends wasn't a bad idea, even in this bad situation. Stopping in front of the door, she took a moment to balance the delivery in one arm, before knocking sharply on the door with the other.

   "Hey! Delivery for--" A pause, to glance down at the note once again. "Mr Shintaro Kisaragi?" She really hoped she'd said that right; she'd never heard a name quite like that before.

   Looking for the kid was honestly stressing her out at this point; with so many strange people after the reincarnated dragon, and her own genuine worry, Fair's main concern was to find the kid as soon as humanly possible. Hopefully, she wouldn't be far off -- that is, under the assumption that she had been taken here with the kid in tow. A sense of guilt filled her, the thought of being separated weighing on her, especially after the time she had run away before.

   She'd promised to protect that child, and she certainly wasn't managing to do that at this moment in time. Mostly, her days were centered around wandering Iunctum, looking for the kid. It was hard, it was stressful, it was making her worry, but she didn't intend on giving up; technically, she was a mother, or at the very least, a guardian.

   "Jeez..."

   Unfortunately, her search had been rather fruitless over the past few days, and her unwillingness to ask hey, have you seen a dragon kid running around out of fear for what might happen if she did made things much harder. Heaving a heavy sigh, the innkeeper spun on her heel to turn back home when--

   Crash! Boom! 

   Fair whirled back round; suddenly on high alert. She hadn't forgotten the kid had caused in town. If it was the child, then...! And then she was running, trying to work out the source of the sound. Hope filled her for a few, brief moments; maybe today was the day her search would end!

   But alas, fortune was not in her favour. Instead of the reincarnated dragon, it was some white haired kid, in the midst of... Well, she couldn't actually tell, really. Raising an eyebrow, she could do not but stare, eventually managing a somewhat hesitant "are you okay?" directed to the stranger.

❧ shopping for the wrong type of melons { fair&mikorin

   Avoiding meeting her new family had been working out pretty well so far, if she did say so herself; but of course, she couldn't really stay out forever. As adverse to this situation as she was, she would have to head back home at some stage. But who knew how well her new family could cook, if they could cook at all. She didn't want to take the risk and return home to bad or no food.

   It had taken a while to work out the layout of the so-called supermarket, and even longer to figure out which ingredients to take for a meal she could recognise, but she was confident she could work with what she had anyway. Maybe good food would soften the blow about the fact she wasn't too happy about her new arrangements.

   Exiting the supermarket -- located in something called a mall -- her gaze was drawn to the shop opposite; a colourful place filled with illustrated books and figures. Well, that wasn't her interest; turning around to leave, she found herself unfortunately mere inches away from someone holding a lot of boxes.

   "Watch out--!"

   Too late. Letting out a shriek, the collision knocked the boxes out of the strangers hands, and the plastic bag straight out of Fair's. Landing on the ground with a thump, she cursed under her breath for a moment, before wobbling to her feet.

   "Hey, are you oka--" Her question was interrupted, however, by the contents of the boxes; what could she say, they were colourful and eye catching. And also featured figures of girls wearing strange clothes with even stranger poses. Frowning slightly, more out of confusion than anything else, she turned back to look at the guy she had bumped into, as though awaiting an explanation, her shopping forgotten for the time being.

   All Fair had wanted was a normal, quiet life. Living in Traiul Town, in Lyndbaum, with Lisher and Lushean, with Glad and Mint... It wasn't the easiest life at times, she'd admit, but it was a life she was content with. It was peaceful. It was normal. Of course, everything changed when the dragon kid came tumbling into her life. And that hadn't been easy to deal with; she hadn't wanted to be the kid's mother, but just when she'd gotten used to that. 

   Well.

   She should really start getting used weird things happening at this rate; as much as she didn't like it, it was inevitable honestly. But one thing was bothering her... If all the strange stuff was happening because of the kid, then where was the kid? Real mother or not, she didn't much like the thought of those people trying to take the dragon away -- not to mention Liviel would probably have a fit if Fair lost the kid. 

   So the first orders of business: find the kid, figure her way out around Iunctum, try and avoid her new family and fiance forever probably. Or for as long as she could, at any rate. She'd already been wandering for a while, so she figured she could ask someone nearby; in fact, that girl across the street should be fine, right? Hurrying over, she reached out and tapped the girl's arm to catch her attention.

   "Hey, excuse me, do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?"
