I love how cas is canonically the type of person to buy someone gifts when they’re upset (literally seen in s8 episode 22 i think?)
Can you imagine cas being like that but with sam, like sam and cas had an argument, it was either something dumb and small or big and actually really needed to be talked about.
But then the argument escalates leaving both sam and cas upset and angry, and cas not being able to take sam being upset with him anymore, he immediately gets to the nearest grocery store and buys all the things sam likes, and maybe even went to a library to buy a book sam likes to read when he isn’t doing research.
When cas gets back from the bunker and dean sees him with all these goods, dean is like “is it Christmas already?”
“No, i bought groceries.” Cas explained, setting the plastic bag on the map table, checking the contents inside to make sure he bought everything he needed to cheer sam up.
“Oh, thats great, but we’re already stocked up for the month.” Dean says, looking over to the bag, just out of curiosity.
“I know that, i bought some of sam’s favorite things, like protein bars, a salad, and a book from a series he loves to read, and shampoo of a brand he always uses.” Cas explains, as he listed every item he said while rummaging through the plastic bag.
“Wow, did you buy anything for me?” Dean said with a smile, hoping cas bought him pie.
“No.” Cas said indifferently, picking up the plastic bag he had set on the table to immediately walk towards sam’s room with an apology at the tip of his tongue since he came back.
