Community Event | Paola Heartland Car Show
We've been attending the Paola Heartland Car for as long as I can remember. I love photographing anything from rust buckets to rat rods to meticulously detailed classic and muscle cars. Whenever I attend events like this I'm always left feeling nostalgic and wishing I could go back into what I perceive to be a simpler time. This year, the weather was a bit overcast when we arrived but it soon turned into blazing sun and harsh light, which made for quite a challenging environment to shoot in. This year I was very much focused on badges and interiors as I made my way through the entries but you will see that a few cars caught my eye and I just had to commit them to memory and get the best image I could without using any filters. I left the ND filter at home, like a noob. I'm still shaking my head over that one.
I hope you guys enjoy looking through these photographs as much I enjoyed taking them. I decided to edit these using various tools in Lightroom, Photoshop and Alien Skin, Exposure X3. My hope is that I created images that make you really feel like you stepped back into another era and maybe offer a brief reprieve from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life.
