Filmu tohoto typu se u nás říká “Trezorový film”. Dotýká se totiž kontroverzních témat, které chtěl komunistický režim zamlčet. Stejný problém jako v Číně. Tam však tento režim po revoluci přetrval, narozdíl od Česka. / In our country (Czechia) we called this type of movie “movie in safe-deposit box”. In time of communist regime, we couldn’t spoke about controversial topic of politics. This film was banned in China.
Yu Hong leaves her home village and starts university in Beijing, where she develops a consuming and compulsive relationship with another student. The student riots from 1989 then ensue and take a toll on their lives.
