In 2010 I sat on the beach at Trestles snappin pix of the @nikes 6.0 Lowers Pro w/ my telephoto, more as a means to get up close & slow things down -- these dudes fly, and fast. This pic is of the legend #AndyIrons, who surfed & lived fins free. Yesterday was his birthday. I'm super lucky to have seen him do his thing, he passed away later that year, a huge loss to the sport/community. It's a wild scene, and I imagine a stressful life to be surfing in the @wsl, but you see these athletes engaging every ounce of their being, pushing, and you know that means they're in their element. It's cool there's a place & occasions for this special breed to take flight.
