Just a head’s up, this weekend I’m sending information to everyone who was commissioned through the fundraiser with info on any and all commissions you received!
Some of you may have already been contacted directly by donors which is absolutely fine, I’m just making sure anyone who wasn’t contacted directly gets their commission information.
If you donated but did not send information regarding your commission, do so this weekend so we can ensure you get the commission you paid for!
Just a note to everyone who donated but did not specify an artist with their donation--please contact this blog to let me know who you're commissioning even if you've already contacted them! It lets me know I can cross you off the list!
Congratulations on exceeding the fundraiser, that's amazing! I was wondering, will you post here once everyone who was commissioned has been notified/all donors have requested a commission? And will those commissions be posted here, or is that up to them? (P.S. sorry if this sends twice;;)
I will indeed post once everyone who donated requests a commission and all donors have been notified! It will be up to the artists/writers and the folks commissioning them if they want to post them online!
may i join in helping the fundraiser? i cant give anything myself but id love to give art and writing for the cause;;; i think what you all are doing is wonderful and id love to help
Unfortunately, the fundraiser just ended on Sunday.
However! If you want to use art and writing to help RAICES, I recently found out about https://www.pencilsinthemargin.com/ which seems to be doing something very similar.
Pencils In The Margin is essentially a hub where artists, writers and crafters can post commission prices (similar to how we’ve done with this fundraiser) for charity organizations. You can specify which organizations you want to do commissions for, (RAICES is one of them, and there are a few other good ones I recognize. Though I’m unfamiliar with a lot of them and you are encouraged to do your own research on any organization you want to support!) Donors then show receipts from their donation and ask for a commission.
Pros:
You can do commissions for charity all year round, or for a limited period of time that you set.
The money is donated directly through each organization’s page, meaning you know it goes to the charity in question and Pencils In The Margins doesn’t take any of it at all.
You can do commissions for one organization or multiple ones.
Cons:
There is currently no hard limit on how many artists can be commissioned from each donation, meaning if five artists are doing $20 commissions for RAICES, someone could commission them all off one $20 donation.
They use screenshot receipts and I don’t know if they currently have any process for identifying fakes.
This might be helpful information for anyone who wanted to participate in the fundraiser but missed their chance, or anyone who wants to continue doing commissions for RAICES afterwards!
The fundraiser is finished! With your help, we’ve raised nearly 1.5k for RAICES!!!!
Thank you to everyone who donated, and everyone who volunteered their talents for this! If you’re an artist or writer who was commissioned during the fundraiser, you will get a message within the next few days listing everyone who commissioned you, so don’t worry if you’re not sure.
If you donated, but did not leave a commission request in your comment, I’ll be contacting you today to follow up!
And if you missed your chance to donate in this fundraiser, RAICES accepts donations year-round through their website! You won’t get a commission, but you can always support a worthy cause.
@thesnadger will be taking art and writing commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!
You can get commissions by donating to this GoFundMe. All donations go directly to RAICES, a group that provides free and low cost legal services to US immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees.
Here’s what you can get if you donate: (Art prices are much lower than typical commission prices for this fundraiser, and I don’t take writing commissions normally!)
Art:
$5 – A sketch of one character
$10 – A sketch of multiple characters and a simple background
$15 – Lineart and flats of one character, no background
$30 – Lineart and flats of up to five characters and a simple background
$45 – Detailed Illustration of one character + background. +$10 for each additional character.
Writing:
$1-$5 - A drabble. No specific length, probably a couple of paragraphs.
$6-$10 - A short one-shot, about 500-1,000 words.
$11-$20 - A longer one-shot, around 2,000 words.
$21-$50 - A longer one-shot, about 3,000-5,000 words.
$51-$100 – A multi-chapter fic, two or three chapters long. Each chapter will likely be 2,000-3,000 words.
Examples of writing on Ao3! Happy to write both fanfic and original fiction.
Limits on art: No full-on NSFW, nothing involving a ship that’s incestuous/pedophiliac. No hate symbols unless it’s in the context of a nazi getting punched or something.
Limits on writing: Nothing involving a ship that’s incestuous/pedophiliac, sexual abuse/assault or hate speech.
I’ve done a decent amount of fanart for Gravity Falls, TAZ, Mob Psycho and D&D before, but I’ll draw anything from any fandom, original characters, other folks’ D&D parties, etc!
Fanfic is a little trickier just because if it’s something I’m not familiar with it might be hard to write for it. If I’ve blogged about it here, odds are I’m familiar enough to give it a shot. If you’re not sure, just ask!
Mechanical, aka @relto will be taking commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!

No: nsfw/adult content, the usual no-go subjects, gore, complex machinery/buildings
Cheese aka @gottagobuycheese will be taking art and writing commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!
You can get commissions by donating to this GoFundMe. All donations go directly to RAICES, a group that provides free and low cost legal services to US immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees.
Here’s what you can get if you donate:
Traditional art: (these will hopefully be scanned, but I can’t guarantee it)
$3 - pencil sketch: single character bust (+$1 per additional character)
$5 - pencil sketch: full single character (+$2 per add. character)
Add color (i.e. colored pencils), simple background, or props = +$2 per color character, +$2 flat for bg/props
Digital art:
$5 - sketch: single character bust (+$2 per add. character)
$7 - line art + flat colors: single character bust (+$2 per add. character)
$10 - line art: full single character (+$3 per add. character; imagine thisbut without the color)
$12 - line art + flat colors: full single character (+$3 per add. character)
$15 - full color: single character bust or full (+$4 per add. character; imagine these without the backgrounds/props/tomatoes)
+$3 flat for bg/props/tomatoes
Writing: (my AO3, FF.net)
$3 - 500-1,000 words
+$2 for each additional 1,000 words
NOTE: I may go over the word count you paid for, e.g. if you paid $5, I would aim to hit between 1,000 and 2,000 words, but I may also go over 2,000. If you want something under a specific word count for its tier (e.g. max 2,000 for $5, max 4,000 for $9), let me know.
I’ve got a lot of bits and pieces from other fandoms I haven’t finished enough to upload to AO3, but here are a few links to incomplete Google Doc stuff if you want to take a gander at how I write for other fandoms: HP1 2, Ace Attorney, Spiderverse, MP100 Ageswap (there’s quite a lot more, but I don’t have access to all of it right now)
I’ve never tried writing anything cohesive above 10K words, so that’ll probably be my upper limit, but you’re welcome to donate as much as you like! I’ll do my best to meet the word count, but if you donate above $21, understand that it’ll probably still be only 10K.
Fandoms and limits:
Writing: Original fiction, Good Omens, Harry Potter, Agent Carter, Into the Spiderverse, Mob Psycho 100, BNHA, Fullmetal Alchemist, Avatar/Legend of Korra, Ace Attorney, Legend of Zelda, Undertale/Deltarune, Erased, A Place Further than the Universe, The Martian, The Dragon Prince, Hilda, Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall, Disney/Pixar, Studio Ghibli, Dreamworks, B99, The Good Place, and a probably bunch more I’m forgetting.
Won’t do: sexual content of any kind (explicit or implied), character/ship bashing, real people fiction
Visual art: OCs, all writing fandoms, Pokémon, Digimon, and definitely a bunch more I’m forgetting.
Won’t do: sexual content of any kind (explicit or implied), realistic spiders, character/ship bashing, real people ships, complicated background/machinery/props (trust me, you wouldn’t want me to)
In general, I prefer gen stuff to shippy stuff, but I can do both.
If you want to request something from a fandom I haven’t listed here, feel free to ask! However, if I’m not familiar with the source material, I probably won’t write for it because it would be much harder to get in character. For visual art, I’m much more open to content I’m unfamiliar with.
If you’d like to request something that doesn’t fall neatly into any of the categories I’ve listed here, I’m happy to discuss it with you.
If you’d like to donate more than a certain tier’s amount but would still prefer that or a previous tier (e.g. you donate $10 but want a traditional art single character bust), please let me know.
This is really long and I don’t know how to streamline it, sorry. Feel free to ask me questions about anything that’s unclear!
If I’m not comfortable with a request or doubt my ability to carry it out, I reserve the right to work with the donor to create an alternative commission for the same price that would satisfy us both.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE! Please keep in mind I won’t be able to start working on any of these until at least mid-August (bar something miraculous), so even if these terms are agreeable to you, you most likely won’t receive anything until August/September at the earliest. Thank you for your understanding!
Kieran Czyzyk, aka @kieranczy will be taking commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!

$1,000 goal met!
Heck yeah!! You guys are killing it! That’s $1,000 going straight to providing legal services for immigrants, asylum-seekers and detainees!
Now let’s make the most of this final day and see how high we can get that number! The more we raise, the more RAICES can do for the people who need legal help!
@dromaeocore will be taking commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!
You can get commissions by donating to this GoFundMe. All donations go directly to RAICES, a group that provides free and low cost legal services to US immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees.
Here’s what you can get if you donate:
10% off normal commission prices shown below!
Examples of my art can be found here on my art blog, dromaeocarts, and my Marvel-specific fanart is here on my sideblog, mutantbanner. I’ll draw pretty much anything (Furries! Fanart! OCs! Pets!) except porn and complex backgrounds/machinery.
@tuxedobombe will be taking commissions for charity from July 4th- 7th!
You can get commissions by donating to this GoFundMe. All donations go directly to RAICES, a group that provides free and low cost legal services to US immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees.
Here’s what you can get if you donate:
Base rates for line art of a single character:
Bust: $10
Waist Up: $20 (X)
Full Body: $30 (X)
Additional rates for coloring:
Flats: $5 (X)
Basic Shading: $10 (X)
Complex Shading: $20 (X)
Other additional rates:
+25% for a complex background
+50% for each additional character
These are applied to the total for lines + color, so a waist-up shot with basic shading and an additional character would be $45. Further additions are applied to the original total, so with a third character it would be $60, and with a background on top of that it would be $67.50
I can offer two line art styles - there’s no price difference:
A - More fluid, wavy lines done with a rough ink pen: X
B - Bolder, mostly straight lines done with a solid ink pen: X
Also offering:
Personalized ink blob monsters for $10 each (X, X, X)
They can be snake-like, rabbit-like, bird-like, snake-bird-like, whatever you’d like! A colored accessory such as a hat, scarf, gloves, etc. can be added as well.
You can find more examples of my work and fandoms I’ve drawn for previously at https://tuxedobombe.tumblr.com/tagged/the+drawing+fern.
I’m happy to do OCs, portraits, or any other subject as well
Limits:
Will not draw NSFW, anything sexual, or hate symbols (with the exception of a character punching a Nazi, or something similar)
Currently I don’t draw romantic relationships or gore.
A Note on Time:
It’s likely that I won’t have the opportunity to start work on these until September, sorry about the delay.
FUNDRAISER FOR RAICES - JULY 4TH-7TH
Commission participating artists and writers to benefit immigrants, asylum-seekers and detainees
In 2016, my friends and I put together a fundraiser on Crowdrise that raised 2,000 for the ACLU by getting fanartists, fic writers and fans together, and I’d like to see if we can do something like that again.
The artists, writers and crafters on the lists linked below are participating in this fundraiser. You can commission a charity piece from any of them by donating to this GoFundMe.
Just donate, then mention in a comment the name of the artist/writer you’re commissioning, as well as EITHER a description of the commission or a note saying you’ll contact them directly.
All donations go directly to RAICES, a group that provides free and low cost legal services to US immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees.
List of Visual Artists and Crafters
List of Writers
RAICES serves immigrants seeking citizenship, asylum-seekers and victims of crimes that might not otherwise report for fear of it affecting their immigration status. They provide free legal services to detainees in the Karnes Detention Center, and represent them in court. They have also been working with the Texas Civil Rights Project to identify the families being separated at the border through their Family Reunification Program.
If like me you’re horrified and saddened by what is happening to immigrants and asylum seekers in the United States right now, RAICES is a fantastic group to support. And if you commission someone through this fundraiser, you can also get some beautiful artwork, fanfic, other writing or even a crocheted doll or dice bag!
Last day of the fundraiser, and we’re just $140 short of our initial $1,000 goal! You’re all amazing!
Let’s see how much we can raise in this last day for legal services for immigrants, asylum seekers and detainees!
Hi- I just saw your fundraiser on Tumblr. I searched up RAICES, and learned a little about what they do- and donated $50. My employer has a matching gifts program, and so it will send another $50 as well. Just wanted you to know about another ripple in the pond that your efforts created - I'm sure there are many more out there, too!
That’s awesome! RAICES is a great organization, thanks to both you and your employer!
has anyone who donated so far made a request? if yes, how can you tell they requested something from you? (i cant see any comments on the fundraiser page, or do they have to contact the person theyre requesting from directly?)
Most of the comments are anonymous, meaning that they aren’t visible on the public page, but the person running the fundraiser (me) can still see them!
There are one or two who donated without requesting anything, possibly because they contacted the artist directly, possibly they just got confused. When the fundraiser ends, I’ll be contacting them as well to be sure they get the commissions they want!
Anyone who donates is asked to say who they’re commissioning even if they do intend to contact the artist directly, just so that I know they’re going to be getting their commission!
