i’m gonna do something a little different for this dtiys! in honor of meme redraws everywhere, i’m basing this event off of a redraw of my own. the original image is included below.

contest rules:

feel free to change up the positions, order, outfits, and vibe of the image! get creative with it. i personally added my own poses and order for my redraw. adding ocs or other characters is also fine, as long as they don’t replace april and the bros.

You'll notice Leah in this room a lot. Lee really misses her dad, so she spends a lot of time in her room thinking of what she could've done differently, inevitably resulting in her siblings feeling very neglected and unseen by their older sister.

I may update it with a colored version later just as a warning

So, I know I'm starting this a bit more on the sad side but I knew this would probably be an easier scene to portray. I made the poll and the comic won by a landslide, which is great because I'll finally stop procrastinating.

Working a bit on my rottmnt au (mentioned here) and will hopefully stop being so shy and just post stuff on it already.

For now some doodles to get the mood going.

To start out this drawing is a bit more complicated then you will see me draw them.

In my iteration the story sorta steers in a different direction than usual.

Yoshi dies pretty early on in the turtles lives leaving Lee to care for them. They are aware of The Shredder and the Yokai world but Lee is very protective over her brothers and they tend to keep to the sewers and very rarely go to the surface.

April and Casey: April, at 15, is a junior in high school and a huge cinematography nerd. She meets the turtles after her mother was kidnapped by the foot, running into Raph, Mikey, and Donnie in an alley after she ran from the foot soldiers.

Casey, a spunky 14 year old, doesn't go to school due to him being an orphan living where he can with his little sister Mia. He is a known thief and often gets chased out of establishments for shoplifting. He always wanted to play baseball as a kid but lost his mother too soon and found himself amongst rough company. Casey meets Raph in an alley but runs off before they can really talk and later helps the turtles against some foot soldiers and eventually befriends them.

All the turtles are a different species but like in rise have part of Yoshi's DNA.

Leah/Lee/Leo: 16 She/her Red-eared slider, Lee is the oldest and acts like a pseudo mom of sorts much to the chagrin of her brothers. Leah is very stoic and doesn't like talking about the incident, choosing rather to spend all her time learning all she can about combat or meditating.

Donatello/Donnie/Don: 15 He/they/him Northern snake neck, Don is a very quiet but tenacious teen, he doesn't listen to Lee a lot out of a type of rebellion against her putting to much pressure on herself. Donnie's not a very good fighter and prefers to act as tech or medical support. He is often the voice of reason for the two youngest when Lee isn't around. Even though he's mostly deaf it never really effected him cause they weren't around many others and he did make himself hearing aids but they were kinda shit he got better ones later.

Raphael/Raph/Ray: 13 He/Him Painted turtle, Raph and Mike are twins and though very different they can act quite alike when upset. Raph really likes art in every sense but mostly painting and graffiti, he's also a huge basketball nerd. Raph is still a little ball of anger but very focused in training, he wants to protect his twin from danger. He'll never let harm come to his brother ever again.

Michelangelo/Mikey/Mike: 13 All pronouns Painted turtle, as Raph's eccentric twin he is easily excited and generally optimistic . Mikey is also pretty crafty and a huge fashionista, sewing is his happy place and tie dye is his haven, he helped Raph make his knock off jersey. With all this you'd never expect him to be so violent. But no, during patrol or training he tends to get very serious and aggressive. Mike is slightly near sighted but only wears glasses when he feels like it, he wears them more after meeting April cause the human lectures them on eye sight and the importance of glasses, but Mikey just sees it as an excuse to match his awesome human friend.

I promise I have more of them and even some little comics in store just felt like I made yall wait long enough.
