Really REALLY diggin SZA’s new album CTRL. Was inspired to make this piece after seeing her Jimmy Fallon performance. I just loved her movement and expressions on stage. About to see her perform in SF in a week, so I’m really looking forward to that.

“Best Bro Shiva” Final composite shot of my entire Awoken Shiva team, in full color and slight monochrome. Was partway through making the monochrome version, and I thought it’d be cool to leave a bit a color left in, in order to represent the sub attributes. All this work, for the husbando. And also for a size L PaD tshirt and a $30 Bastet figure. Fingers crossed

And lastly, Hino Kagutsuchi. Awoken Hino was the first real powerhouse I had. IIRC he was one of the first guys with 3 tpas, and I was really lucky to pull him. I had to simplify alot of this guy from his in game art work. PaD kinda has a reputation for a having a BUNCH of random magic bullshit all over the character art. And while I can *admire* the level of detail and the effort it took to put into it, it can sometimes be a bit visually overwhelming. Also I couldn’t even try to *decipher* some of Awoken Hino’s bullshit, let alone draw it.

Next is Rozuel. For the longest time, my Shiva team wasn’t complete. Sure it was more or less close to ideal. But my final spot was always kinda filler, especially when I needed a bind clear. Then I rolled Rozuel, saw her attack and tpas, saw her bind resist/clear, and immediately put her in my team. Double dose of utility and power. Fucking A+.

Found at that PaD is having a 4-year anniversary art contest. Figured I’d take the time to get off my lazy ass and finish up these pieces. Got about 2 more days to do two more characters, so I got a good deal for work let to do. This is the Norn, Urd. She’s pretty dope. Her active is godlike. Absolute staple on many fire team. For some reason, the gacha blessed me with 3 of them. Living in an Urd wonderland. This piece was a little easier to do than the others. Hardest part was probably the dress. I think it came out decent enough. Depending on how the final team composition turn out, I may or may not keep the clockwork wing bullshit.

Up next in the PaD Shiva team art, is Cao Cao. To date, this is the only card that I bought a pack * specifically* to try and roll for. In hindsight, that was probably a PRETTY BAD idea. Luckily for me, he actually dropped, and I haven’t bought a pack since. He recently got an Awoken form, but this tpa-focused UVO was too much of a staple on A. Shiva to upgrade to the more row-based Awoken form. A. Cao Cao is apparently a top tier farming lead, so maybe if I ever roll an extra one, I may Awaken that instead.

Been playing Puzzle and Dragons almost 3 years now. Figured I finally do some fan art for it. I mostly main Awoken Shiva, and this guy has been carrying me for about a year and a half now. I think its about time my PaD husbando gets the tribute he deserves. Full team to come!

“Bare Knuckle”

Another piece of the Random Assault podcast crew. I’ve been thinking about revamping the hosts’ character designs for a while now, and when one of the hosts approached me about making a shirt design for them, I figured this would be a good opportunity to do so. I had a lot of fun doing this. I revamped a lot of their outfits to be more stylish and contemporary, seeing as how most of these guys dress like shit in real life. Also tried a lot of new shading techniques, and also tried doing a new thing in limiting my color palette. Banner for Random Assault ep 186 I think it’s my third or fourth time proper on the show. I had the most fun so far on the show in this episode. We made fun of the Sakuracon 2009 commercial, and I hosted a Slur Quiz where the winner would win a mooncake. Check it out once it comes out in a couple weeks!
